You've just about got your desk cleared off and you look up and here
comes somebody with two armloads of work for you.
Well I get that feeling watching these guys give their press
conferences. I'm sitting there saying "Aw, no.

it was about this time last year when the United States Post Office

I have a brother in law who's actually quite highly placed in the
postal department there in Washington,
and we had Thanksgiving dinner down at their house in Virginia,
and at one point I called him aside, I said, "Bill.
I'm gonna have to write a song about that.
" And he's known me a long time and he'd kinda halfway been expecting
that, and uh,
all he asked was that I try to be
kind. And so I tried. And I failed."
