What a bore. Not the usual Dispatch. Barely acceptable. Most of the songs are slow and dull enough to be characterized as plodding. Lots of harmonizing and good musicianship but nothing truly catching. Only Letter to Lady J has the old Dispatch spirit. Don Juan Tango is not bad. Cross the World is almost there. But many of the songs sound exactly alike. Black Land Prarie, London Daughters, Came for the Fire, Follow the River and much of Prisoners Visitor drone on and on with no energy. I don’t know if it’s the loss of Pete (hopefully temporary) but this album is in a total rut. If you have Location 12 feel free to avoid this one. I guess Dispatch has too many yes people telling them this new direction is “great guys!!” when someone needs to slap them around a bit and tell them to “wake up!” Gordon Ramsey, you a fan? Shake the boys up.
