Its really suprising that theyre not well - known.. This is the greatest band that came out of Pedro. I know a lot of guys who like them, and they respect them because they know how great they are. However, whenever I ask my friends or people who like old music, I say "hey do you know who mike watt is?" Of course they reply no. Then I say "Well what about the minutemen? Boon? Hurley?!!?!?!". They are great. You should really listen to them, Its very weird to most people but very awesome and unique to other people. Listen to D's Car Jam, Viet Nam, #1 Hit Song, Two Beats at the end, This Ain't No Picnic, Jesus and Tequila, Glory of a man, The Roar of Masses Could be Farts, and tons more. Yes, i know, the titles are interesting but really listen. They need more respect. Its a tragedy about Boon. He was a legend. Its ok though, his legacy is still respected today.

Five stars for the album, four for the CD - BEWARE. This is one of the top ten albums ever released, and one of the five most durable - long after you're tired of listening to stuff like "London Calling" or "Never Mind the Bollocks" you'll still be finding new stuff on this disc. I've been blasting it frequently for the past 20 years and it still feels fresh. For some reason, three songs on the original vinyl were left off the CD version. It could have been issued as a double CD (a'la Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde") but wasn't somehow. This is a shame because, for instance, "Little Man With a Gun in His Hand" is now unavailable on CD. The versions other reviewers wrote about are NOT the original, they are inferior live or alternate takes. The classic cut I loved and memorized for decades is only available on the original vinyl.

Mucho Mas Spiel from Boon & Watt. It's been 20 years since Boon left us and this album is still the pinnacle. I love this album. The Minutemen never compromised, never sold out, never went mersh. This should be handed out to every person that wants to start a band and then told "this is the way of the truth".

The Glory of ...... The summer of '86 I just turned 16 in Omaha and I was in a band with a couple of the Maxwell brothers jamming out covers and originals, 'Glory of Man' was top on our play list. The meaning of the album title. I got this when it first came out on vinyl. At the time the speed limit was fifty-five and the main freeway through downtown LA is the ten, so I always thought the title meant going fifty five mph on the 10 freeway --- double nickels on the dime.
