Awsome. This was my introductory album to the wonderful world of Kamelot. It has changed my life, especially this album. It's a story worth telling. Get this album and listen to it front to back in order.
Pinnacle of Power Metal. An absolutely flawless album. Every. Song. Slays. The lyrics are brilliant, keyboards, drums, and guitar are resounding, and the lead singer, Roy Khan, sounds as if he made a Faustian bargain of his own. The penultimate track, Memento Mori, is the most spellbinding song I’ve ever heard.
Pure genius. One of the best albums in rock history - solid, crisp, tight, perfect balance of heavy and melodic, and powerful!
The pinnacle and highpoint of Kamelot. I discovered The Black Halo 6 months ago when I was searching for highly acclaimed power/symphonic metal albums and this album was in the top 5 of most lists. And I have to say, I am addicted to early Kamelot, their 2000 albums from Karma, Epica, and The Black Halo are all so unique and different in terms sound yet its all metal. The Black Halo, for me, is the pinnacle of Kamelot. Continuing the story of Goethe Fuast, this one captures the second part of the story so well. Each song has a purpose, each song flows into the next with ease, they took Epica and refined it even more into this masterpiece. Unfortunately however, with the latest Kamelot albums nothing has not even come close to dethroning this sublime album. And I honestly don't think they will ever surpass this.
Kamelot at their best. This and Epica are peak Kamelot. By far their best albums.
