Kung Fu Panda 3: The Awesome Continues. My friend and I both loved this movie and its score, noticing how well it fit for each scene and action. Love it and hope that this franchise won't get as bad as Shrek was... (I love Shrek, but it went bad toward the end)

Jay Chou!!. I'm glad Jay Chou got to sing the ending theme, "Try" with Patrick brasca! It's such a motivational song! Must buy!! Also, the Kung fu fighting is good as well!

The Spark of the Original Score is all but Gone.... It would seem that just as the dynamic duo of Hans Zimmer and John Powell failed to carry over to the third film's score, so too did half of the music's life and energy. Having colaborated on the first two films, Zimmer and Powell were able to create a sound that was unique and wonderful, allowing each of them to focus on their respective strengths. But now that Powell has left, many of the most important motivitc and musical aspects of the scores are no longer present. Don't get me wrong, I like Zimmer, but his sense for actual musical content is fairly limited. Without Powell there to keep the music light, motivic and interesting, Zimmer resorts to his standbys, which primarily include relentless pounding rythms and a relatively unvaried and blasé instrumental palett. Not only that, but the music seems very hurridly put together, creating the feeling that perhaps it is just coincidental that it sounds passable in the first place. Take the second track on the album as an example: this track attempts to be as 'mashup' of sorts, containing many of the first two films most iconic themes (which, incidentally, all have, in my mind, John Powell's fingerprints on them) but instead, what it ends up appearing like is simply a sloppy copy and paste job. The score is passable as hollywood kids movie standards go, but if it is held up to the original, something seems to be counterfit.

Beautiful. Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe really created an outstanding album, full of emotional and exciting cues. It lacks Powell's zaniness but overall I found this to be the best of the franchise.

Zimmer is AMAZING. When you see Hans Zimmer you know it's about to be an awesome soundtrack!! Saw this movie and the music made me immediately go home to buy the soundtrack!! Just amazing
