Last man standing. Simply great. Still creative, still imaginative in concert, and the most fun you'll ever have. What more could you ask for? Epitaph: "This party is not over yet." Jimmy's "Blonde on Blonde"

Jimmy Buffett Inc.. Jimmy is a shell of his old self and his music since around '94 has been all downhill. When I think of him now I think of a corporation--blenders, hotels, casinos, and other crap. adios JB.

Where's the Steel Drums??????. While I can't say this is my favorite Buffett CD, but it's not as bad as a lot of people here seem to think. I really miss the steel drums and the island sort of thing he had join. I'm not fond of this CD, but he's had worse I guess.

Great. Great album can't beat earls dead thanks Jim

Not his best. I thought License to Chill and Far Side of the World were two of the best albums the man ever did so this lack-luster review has nothing to do with Buffett's age or his vocals. I just think he needs better song writers. These songs are boring. They sound good though. Happy to see Mark Knophler on the album. Definitely could live without Toby Keith (that song has to be the worst on the album). I love Jimmy's country-rock-island musical style, but he's gotta get some better songwriters.

Disappointed, but.... I've been a Parrot Head for a long time but this album is almost unlistenable. However, I said that about the last album and half of those songs have grown on me. In Jimmy's own words, "Only time will tell..."

Playin' for money. I've been a parrothead since the early 70's and own every single album ever pressed . This latest effort though is pure crap. Over-produced and under-thought commercial pablum for the faithful. Sorry Jimmy, but I miss the simple sounds from timeless classics like Havana Daydreamin' or West Nashville Ballroom gown.

Pleased Parrot-Head!!!. Yet another INCREDIBLE album a la JB! Pay no attention to the less than stellar reviews (by a few unmentionables)...this new one is filled with classic Buffett-style songs, catchy rifts and sing-a-longs for years to come! Thank you Jimmy, you make life even more fun!

What Happened?. I love my collection of Buffett music - it has carried me for many years with wisdom, great ballads, and songs that have become part of me. This album is…none of that. I really hope Jimmy is not "growing older but not up" - but it looks like that might be true. Nothing in this album is a reflection of the greatness and depth that his music used to have.

Worst yet. I've been a Jimmy Buffett fan for years. It is time he retired. Can't sing and the songs are just not very good. To some of these fans Jimmy is a God and whatever he puts out is 5 stars. This is just not good at all. I give it a zero. Awful.

Songs from St. somewhere. Definitely not Buffet quality...Seems his songs are better lately when he's accompanied by another artist...Zac Brown, Alan Jackson....

An Collection of Keepers (and a few you'll throw back). I'm guessing the unflattering reviews are from folks who only listened to the album once or twice. At first blush I was ready to dismiss it as unremarkable, but as more of its songs started popping up in my rotation I realized there are some great tracks here. Sure, one or two silly songs...but would it be a JB album without them? Think of them as a bonus because there are some really solid tracks here that I think will hold up over time. Definitely worth the money.

2 fins up 😎. This is a fun, light-hearted and upbeat album. It would be great to listen to while relaxing and drinking a cold beer

Jimmy buffett and this= summer. When I hear Jimmy Buffett music I think of summer and this just makes me wish summer wasn't gone just yet.

It's Jimmy!. It's still Jimmy all the way. I like it!

You can pass on this one! Ugh!. After hearing the god awful TDT Karaoke, I actually considered not buying this album if that was the level of effort I could expect from Jimmy on this CD. It would be the first one I haven't bought since I started following Jimmy almost 25 years ago. But after the preview I gave in and got it. After a week's worth of listening now, not much is jumping out at me. Typically you'll get a few songs that you'll dial up and want to hear again. Nothing stands out on this album and it just fades into the background when your listening to it. No where to go but up after TDTK but overall a real disappointment.

save your money. i bought this automatically like i've been doing since A1A days. Sad to say but that's the last time that happens. I've been listening to him for 30 years or so and love most of his stuff but the last few albums are a waste. the man seems to have no interest in doing anything new, like he's coasting to retirement. I will still go to see him in concert if it's nereby because he still puts on a decent show but the material for the last 5 years is increasingly stale. wish it weren't so....

Solid release. I enjoyed most of this album Something about a boat is the best cut on the record. Oldest surfer on the beach is good as well. Mellow yes but for goodness sakes Jimmy is 66 years old ! He should be mellow at this age.

REFLECTIVE. Seems that Jimmy Buffett is very reflective on this CD. Reflective of his career, life and all the directions his life traveled to reach this point. Not the typical Buffett escape type of music. Still very poignant.

AWESOMENESS!!!!!. Love everything Jimmy puts out there. Just wish like hell he would have toured Denver this summer.

Solid. It is hard to believe that Buffett is recording music this good at this stage of his career. "Einstein Was a Surfer" is a gem, as are "Colour of the Sun," "I Wave Bye Bye," and "Oldest Surfer on the Beach." After a few listens "Too Drunk to Karaoke" and "Earl's Dead" grow on you......this is 45 years into his career!

Aww.... Sadly, the only song I liked was the first on the album. Love jimmy, don't like this album that much

JIMMY!. There is about 3 or 4 songs on this album that are just okay.. The rest of this album is awesome!! Shame on you so-called fans that gave this a bad review on the day it was released. See you in Paris on in September Jimmy, thanks for more awesome music.

Gets better with every listening. Listen to it every day one the way to work. Gets better every time. Songs like "I am no Russian" an "Earl is dead" grow on you when you listen to the story. Einstein is inspired writing. I see his story telling growing. There is enough beach and boat there too. Love it.

Mailboat? More Like Mailing It In!!. I have been attending Buffett shows for decades! I have every commercial musical output the man has ever produced. I have raised my children to his music and spent thousands of dollars traveling to shows, joining the party, and trying to explain the gospel according to St. James. What happened, Jimmy? If you don't feel it anymore, don't put it out there. I feel bad for you, but I am feeling even worse for those of us who hoped for more. Do some tarpon fishing and get the vibe back!

really?. being a long time parrot head i always look forward to the next buffett album but this leaves a lot to be desired. a full album of fluff. very disappointing

Sinus infection?. Is it just me, or does Jimmy sound incredibly nasally this album? I loved, loved, loved "Take the Weather With You," but this compilation just isn't up to par. :(

Bad is really bad. This is a bad album. Been a fan for many years. Songs bad-- voice getting worse. Time to retire Oldsmobile.

Another Great Album. Great

What happened??!. I should have listed to the other reviews and skipped this one. I bought it, tried to listen to and still cannot listen to more than one song without advancing out of it. The lyrics are awful and it sounds like Jimmy is singing with a cold. Just dreadful.

Jimmy’s back!!. Jimmy is back in his pure, traditional form. Hopefully we won’t see his country kick again and he will keep making music how he used to.

:(. Ugh. His voice has changed. Buffet is taking a turn for the worst

Give it a try. Heard the partials on iTunes & only liked one song, but i went ahead and bought the entire cd. when i listened to the entire cd, i realized i only disliked one song (too drunk to karaoke). nice change from the usual commercial island sound.

Amazing @ 66. I love the lyrics and music of each song. So far, Soulfully is my favorite. Just put the top down, turn up Jimmy and ENJOY. He remains amazing @ 66.

Larry Sauer. All you negative nellies are crazy. Buffett is Buffett. It's always great fun!

Are you really a parrothead?. What don't you haters understand? Jimmy isn't the captain of a small fishing boat anymore it's a full blown cruise ship. The days of mañana and a pirate looks at forty have passed and now Jimmy has changed his tune to encourage a whole new bunch of parrotheads to join the party. Those of us who were around still understand and hear the stories in the music. No matter what you think enjoy the ride because it's been a lovely cruise for the captain and the kid.

Can't not love Buffett. It is hard to find a Buffett song that I can't appreciate. This album is perfect to me. Its pretty chill, and I love that about it. Not everything can be a party album and it is nice to see as he grows older…he shares his wisdom in slower songs. I am a true parrot-head at heart and love Mr. Buffett!

New Buffett flare. Interwoven with the magic and beauty of whoJimmy Buffett is after halfway through the album

Why the negativity ?. Man we r lucky he is upright and still coming up w new words to hear. I sit here w a little phone trying to hear big sound and even what I heard I want more. How do I do that ? THX JB for making my life more livable. If you need a handle for me - call me Disabled American Vet !

Sitting on St. Somewhere. I have seen a few negative reviews. I love this album, traditional Jimmy Buffett, imaginative songs, such as Enistein was a surfer, to songs that are light hearted and joyful like Earl's dead, Cadilac for sale. P.S. Jimmy still waiting for the remake and release of Turning around off the Summer Rental soundtrack!

I LOVE THIS ALBUM!. This is Buffett's lyrical song writing at its best! I am in love with the artistic prose in each song and how they all tell an adventurous story from journeys around the globe. My favorite is Tides and close behind is Somethin Bout a Boat and of course Rue de la Guitar Je t'aime! Buffett has a way of making the mundane moments in life seem magical, artistic and poetic. LOVE IT!

Not sure what album some people are listening to.... …or if they “get” Jimmy and his music. I buy most every JB CD that comes out, mostly ‘cause I like to know he’s out there doing what he does. So some of his albums are serious, some are silly but I have yet to find one that didn’t supply at least two songs that are added to my “permanent Boat Playlist” (Earl’s Dead does that for me on this one). This one passed the test and has been on “infinite repeat” for about two weeks. Thanks to you Cap’n Jimmy, wherever you are just now!

Listen with your common sense.. I agree with A-train187. Someone said "can't hold a tune anymore"...er, excuse me? If someone can't hold a tune, they'd be humming "Happy Birthday" and you wouldn't know what song it was. THAT is what not holding a tune means. Jimmy Buffett is marvelous in that he does not take himself seriously and is putting stuff out there for people to enjoy. You either buy it or not, but WHY complain?!?! If you don't like ice cream, don't eat it, but why complain about it? Those of us who enjoy his style, wit, humor and music..will enjoy having this and do not bemoan the fact he is getting older. BTW, if you aren't getting older, sell us your secret.

Genius still there. Saw something recently that said "haters gonna hate" most of these reviews reflect that. His style has matured. Yes there's still a party song or two duh that's who he is. Everyone of his albums has had the ballads stories and lessons. And quite frankly "Einstein was a Surfer" is brilliant.

Great new music. I am really liking Jimmy's new album and especially Somethin' 'Bout a Boat & I Want To Go Back To Cartagena. Most of the album seems pretty mellow except for a few songs like To Drunk To Karaoke. All in all I'm enjoying his new music.

Not his best at all.. I was vert disappointed..

At least we still have the concerts. I have always enjoyed Jimmy's music, however it seems each progressing album since Fuitcakes seems to have more and more filler. I heard Jimmy talk about the album inspiration on radio Margaritaville, however the songs do not do the stories justice, like they used to. Some new songs gives the concert goers somthing different to listen to, and that, unfortunately, is all we have here. Just something different. There are a few standouts, "somthing about a boat", and Jimmy's look at his own mortality "oldest surfer on the beach", and a couple others. but hey he is closing in on 70 and still seems like he is having a great time entertaining his phans. Phins up!

A Mellow Buffett Album. Reading some of the other reviews, I went into this Buffett album a little worried. I've been pleasantly surprised by Jimmy's latest outing. This album is much in the mellow, laid back style that has been present in lot of Jimmy's latest albums, and it is pretty much the way this one goes. I have to say that i really dislike "Too Drunk to Karaoke" though, and think it was a mis-step to push it as the single off the album. Nothing else is like it, and it feels like a grab for the "License to Chill" fans. "Tides", "Oldest Surfer on the Beach" and "Bye Bye" show an insight to an older Jimmy Buffett that I really appreciate. Jimmy sounds great, and so does the band. A nice and welcome change of pace.

Pure Buffett. Like a fine rum, Buffett has aged to perfection. Lets hope it's not another 5 years until the next album.

Legend. how can you come on here and say jimmy doesn't have it? Guy is a legend. Have a beer an shut up

Wonderful. Love this new offering from Jimmy. Great tracks and a little mellower than previous records. Perfect beach music Can't wait to listen to it this winter in Florida

Songs from St Somewhere. Jimmy continues too tell stories through his music that take us too far away tropical and exotic places - having fun all the way. As a fan for over 30 years, I can only tell Jimmy I can't wait for more!

Fantastic. Great album, music, lyrics. Play this when you're stuck in traffic...takes you away...

I Wave Bye Bye - from St. Somewhere. How bad could it be - album 31 from an aging surfer whose life has been one Rum Punch and conch after another! Jimmy will always be on a perennial beach, welcoming all of us who have been 'parrot-heads' since our first trip down A1A. His cover of Jesse Winchester's I Wave Bye Bye sold me! Been a fan of both from the early days.

Back to his best !!. Having been a dedicated (Australian) fan for about 40 years, and the proud owner of everything he's ever recorded, I just loved this latest release. Sure, there are a couple of tracks that ain't brilliant, but in general it ranks with some of his best. On first listening, the voice is a little different (sounds a little nasal), but it's still the same old JB (thankfully). "Something bout a Boat" is my personal favourite, but in general another great effort from a perpetually brilliant entertainer. Please come back down under Jimmy, but don't fall off the stage this time.

Great. How the hell did Jimmy even get some rap into his songs, great. His writing is still great!
