Best. Album. Ever.. Not a bad song on Cracked Rear View. You can play it until the CD breaks and no song would ever get old. Hootie and the Blowfish was the greatest band to come during the 1990's. Go Gamecocks!

Amazing album. I just saw Darius Rucker live two days ago in Lexington, NC and he still has a great voice. He still sounds basically the same. It was awesome hearing him play Only Wanna Be With You. That and Let Her Cry are classics that should never be forgotten.

Good, clean music. Although I am more into 60s, 70s, and 80s rock more than I am into 90s rock, I can say that this is actually great music. I had the original cd and when I listened to this album, I really liked this band. So, if you are even a fan of older rock and roll, I still highly recommend this good, CLEAN 90s band, because they are really good!

Just Jamming. best jam album of the 1990's. period.

Soulful Nostalgia. Popular melodies with just enough soul to feel the lyrics. I remember simpler, more hopeful times as listen. A glass of wine and a summer breeze, while I enjoy Not Even The Trees...

My favorite Hootie album. You can tell it's good because you can't automatically tell the year it came out by listening like many of the 90s bands.

A product of nearly a decade of hard work!. I remember back when H&TB was playing various gigs in the Five Points section near the University of South Carolina. Even then, they were well on their way to breaking out nationally. “Cracked Rear View” was the end result of all of those years of hard work. “Hannah Jane”, “Time”, and “Let Her Cry” are my personal favorites. Special mention needs to go to the song “Drowning”, which powerfully attacked the then-controversy of the Confederate flag flying over the South Carolina State House and the bigotry and hatred that sadly still lingers in some quarters even today.

fresh air!. There were/are plenty of Hootie haters, but this music was and still is great. After years of depressing, mopey, grungy darkness Hootie hit the scene with a tremendous breath of fresh air. This music is fun and feel-good.

WHO WROTE THE ALBUM REVIEW. Great job reviewing it. No bias at all, I couldn't tell you don't like the band. I didn't notice you don't like the album. Could you get a bit more negative? Really though, I couldn't find your name for writing such a review.

One of my all-time favorite albums!. It was my birthday and I remember hearing Only Wanna Be With You early in the day and I said to myself "I have got to get that cd-this song is great!" Later in the evening my youngest brother brought me a birthday gift and said that he didn't know what else to get me,but that he thought I might like this-and it was the Cracked Rear View cd! I said - I was just thinking that I'd like to get this this morning! How did you know? I listened to the whole thing and discovered that I liked every song! Only Wanna Be With You got quickly replaced as my favorite by Time. And the cd was eventually replaced as I played it death. This is probably the third or fourth version of this that I bought as times change and CDs are getting outdated. If you like Darius Rucker's current career as a country artist,you'll love this album!

Just a great rock album.. Great songs all the way through, easily one of the debut albums ever.

Rip offf. I don't understand this album has been out for how many years and the good songs are 1.29?? I thought only new hit songs were 1.29... This is why people rip off albums because record labels rip off their consumers.

Great stuff, the 90's ruled!!!. Great album, no wonder it sold over 12 mill!!

The first album is still the best!. What can I say? This is still by far the best Hootie & The Blowfish album, they have never been able to top it! Ever since this album came out I have been waiting for them to release another album that is just as good or even better, but alas it has not happened. Now don't get me wrong, there are some great songs on their other albums, but only one or two per album, sometimes three. However, as I said before, this album is full of great songs! "Hannah Jane", "Hold My Hand", "Let Her Cry", "Only Wanna Be With You", "I'm Goin' Home", "Drowning", and "Time" are all masterpieces!

The Best from that time period. And so many great memories.... Des Moines, you know who you are..

My All Time Favorite. I loved it then - still love it today. I decided to retire my 20 year old cd and buy it via iTunes. Hootie and the Blowfish in the cloud. Life is good!

Lol. All the other reviews remembering their childhood and stuff like that from these songs meanwhile the only reason I know about it is cause of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake. Either way a classic especially Only Want To Be With You!

Ahhhhh childhood…... I'll never forget where I was the first time I heard 'Time'. My parents had just recently gotten divorced and I was 5 years old. My dad had heard some of their music on the radio and wanted to buy the CD. One night, I was leaving his house to go back to my moms and he popped in a CD. That was the day that I got into music. Shortly after, my Dad gave me this album and bought himself another copy. That was ALL the way back in 1995/1996. All these years I've grown up, this album only gets better with age. I still have the original CD in my car. I listen to it all the time. Its no wonder I haven't worn it down yet! Truly good music here. This album pretty much covers every emotion I ever felt. I grew up with this album. Hard to believe we're closing in on the 20th anniversary of this album. Either way, this album holds a pretty special place in my life. Glad it was my 'first'.

Classic 90s - One of the best albums EVER. Buy it, start it from the beginning, and play it right through. Songs all sound similar in classic Hootie style. Yet, THEY ARE ALL FANTASTIC! This reminds me of the great memories of summer by the pool. Thanks for the great music, Hootie & the Blowfish!!!
