Great soundrack!. I see alot of theater and for some reason or not I missed this show when it was on Broadway. But as a test of how good the show was I usually listen to the soundtrack, and if I can visually see the show in my mind through the music, I believe its done its job. This was a perfect example. The feelings, trials and pain felt by the two conjoined twin sisters is thoroughly felt in this album. Great vocal performances from the two especially on the heartfelt Who will love me as I am. and I will never leave you. Wish I would have seen this while on broadway. Theres always UTUBE to see their performances!

Brilliant score and very moving show. With all due respects, I can't imagine any audience would laugh this show off the stage; but after seeing it on Broadway twice early in its run, I can say that both audiences (filled with theatre professionals I might add) were heads over heels in love with it and the performers. It was moving, exciting, original and filled with soaring melodies not heard on Broadway much anymore. This album does a great job capturing the feeling and the essence of the show. Why didn't it succeed? The best guess is that the poster didn't capture what the show was about (it was way too surreal), and the subject matter - circus "freaks" - didn't drive the masses into the theatre. It made stars of Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner and Norm Lewis, and rightly so. If you love musicals with heart, get this recording.

Amazing Voices and Songs. This soundtrack is great. If you don't want to buy the whole album, buy Who Will Love me As I Am? and I will Never leave you. Touching and winning. What everyone wants in a musical.

WE NEED A REVIVAL. I got into theatre well after Side Show ran on Broadway, but the 1997 Macy's Parade Performance always stuck in my head. The song We Share Everything was actually the first song I ever purchased on itunes! I listen to the album constantly, and recently I've been on a 90s musical binge... My fav songs include I Will Never Leave You, Who Will Love Me As I Am, Come Look at the Freaks, Tunnel of Love, and We Share Everything. BUT every song is truly amazing. If for no other reason, buy this album to hear the talent that is Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley... PERFECTION

Great Show, Great Music. Side Show is an amazing production! The music is even better. The standout songs are 1. Come Look at the Freaks 16. Private Conversation, and 19. Tunnel of Love. Definitely listen to the songs on this soundtrack even if you haven't seen the show. You won't be disappointed!!

Laughably Horrible!. I saw the show on Broadway where the audience laughed it off the stage. Big, shrill pop-belty voices don't make up for tedious music and insipid lyrics. How this show had a semi-life outside of it's original disastrous run I will never know. How can an audience take a song titled "I Will Never Leave You" sung by conjoined twins seriously?! It might have worked had it been conceived as a musical comedy rather than an agonizingly humorless musical melodrama.

Beautiful!. This is a fantastic and often overlooked show. The cast is amazingly talented and the music is beautifully written. The best songs are "Who Will Love Me As I Am?", "I Will Never Leave You", "You Should Be Loved", and "Leave Me Alone". Download any of these songs and you'll be convinced of what a wonderful show this is!!!

Yes!!. I wholeheartedly love this soundtrack. This is one of my favorite shows, and I was fortunate enough to be a part of the San Diego premiere of Side Show in 2006, which was an incredible experience. The music of Side Show is simply phenomenal, but unfortunately the show didn't last long on Broadway. However, it is a wonderful show and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks, iTunes, for finally making the entire soundtrack available!!

Truly Astounding Broadway Music. One of the best Broadway musical scores in existence. I have been a fan of Alice Ripley for a long time, which was my only reason for buying this album in the first place, but, wow, I got a lot more than I expected! Norm Lewis is amazing. His voice has a warm, fluid, rich sound along with an amazing range and a fantastic vibratto. Emily Skinner's voice is beautiful in such an innocent way, she has amazing vowel shapes and strong diction. The lyrics are terrific. They take some getting used to because they are 90% recitative. It took me a few weeks to warm up to it but when I did I was truly amazed. I think this show deserved a heck-of-a-ton more credit than it did. It is so beautiful and touching with some of the best songs of musical theatre. Truly wonderful. Buy this CD! the best songs are: Leave Me Alone Who Will Love Me As I Am? Triumphant!. Emily and Alice can belt songs like no two before them...and their harmonies are triumphant.....such soul and clear sparkling energy....A very odd show indeed....almost gross...but the music makes up for the macabre storyline!
