The ORIGINAL. This is the way New ORDER was...is...should be....undiluted and raw. There is none of the more recent remixes that sound like $*@#. Do youself a favor and buy the original sound from 1987. Really. That "modern" remix stuff is just...well....unfortunate.

Substance. New order at their very best. Rock and dance music rolled in to one. Brilliant.

Not Enough Substance. I love this album, but a little disappointed by the fact that there was so much more on the double cassette, which I still have. This album plus the Best Remixes album gives me 75%. Not singling out New Order on this issue, though. The same applies to The Cocteau Twins, The Cure and Dire Straits for instance.

Substance. Probably New Order’s best album. As a collection, it’s a history of electronic music; an epitaph to a sonically very creative time which New Order epitomised. Every track is a corker and you can hear the development of their sound throughout which, ultimately, is a snapshot of how dance music and rock music were fused by them and, in the period, became bigger and more mainstream, if always off centre. An amazing album. New Order’s best.
