Beautiful music for a beautiful game. I just started playing TLOU2

Great Soundtrack!. This soundtrack is amazing albeit not as memorable as the first one but still good. Its dark and sometimes mysterious songs fit the theme of the second game perfectly! I have this album on the PS4 and when I first got it, I just sat and listened. For me, it keeps me in and I don't lose focus easily like I usually do when listening to a long soundtrack just as this. I reccomend you to buy this soundtrack as it is so good. Santaolalla has helped this franchise to grow all because of the amazing songs that he has created for it!

Nowhere as memorable as the first. This review is strictly based on the music, it’s not tied to the terrible game that is TLOU 2. This soundtrack was just ok, non the themes from the first game come back here and the new ones aren’t even memorable.... maybe the opening theme is but that’s about it.

Where are Ellie’s guitar songs. No Take on me?? That was one of the best versions of this song. No Hurt, Redemption song, Wish you were here… They dropped the ball on this album. It could have been amazing

Fantastic soundtrack. I own both soundtracks and as a great fan of the games, enjoy this music immensely. The way this evokes the sadness and tension of the game is really amazing. Wonderful compositions, all. These remain a beautiful background track to my days.

Just becuase the game's bad. Doesn't mean these two slacked off. Gustavo brings his A-game, trying to score a F-game, they'd better have paid this man his dues.

Masterpiece. Soundtrack is phenomenal, the gameplay and storytelling is incredible. Story had its flaws, fatalities and possible improvements where they could maybe put a doc to be its counterpart. However, U can’t judge a game based on bots of its aspects, haters be so dumb lol

Another Masterpiece!. The Last of Us II was an amazing experience. What made it so amazing was a combination of many things. Among those being the sound design and music. Gustavo being apart of this game is apart of the reason why the game is so good. Excellent music brings all the elements together. I absolutely love the soundtrack in this game! I’ve never been so moved by a video games selection of music. I hope Gustavo is brought back for other Naughty Dog projects he’s such a talented artist❤️❤️❤️❤️

Incredible music.. As a musician I feel a deep connection with music in general. I know what good music sounds like. Although the game has its flaws, objectively speaking, the music is simply and undeniably phenomenal.

Excellent Soundtrack. Gustavo does it again and delivers a soundtrack that throws all the emotional gut punches at you.

Amazing soundtrack. Love the tone of all the songs. Each note is carried with a well played tune of talent the artists used to put together a great experience to this album/soundtrack. Worth the money spent. Do not let your feelings of the game blind you to the immense melodies that are in these songs.

Alright here we go. My harshest music criticism isn’t for Gustavo. I’m leaving five stars for him. It’s Quayle’s tracks- too much like Call of Duty. There didn’t seem to be enough of Gustavo’s tracks in the actual game. But it gets tricky to rant at musicians only- as their job is to be in sync with the game. The plot itself drives the tracks, which is probably why we have a lot of more of the Quayle stuff, and here’s why. The plot is based on vengeance. That’s okay, it drives the story. The problem is there’s just way too many people, it doesn’t feel like the first Last of Us because instead of two people wandering through mostly empty ruins, running into very small factions, we have grand scale conflicts with actual cities of people. It just doesn’t feel desolate. In a weird way, I liked how alone I felt in the first game. If my character got left behind even for a second, I felt the loneliness and abandonment. Not so much here. That’s the one big issue with this game. Is it a good game with good music from both artists? Yes! Those were just my criticisms.

2 years later…. I still listen to this album. Unbroken, grieving, beyond desolation, all gone… man. This game changed me I’m on my 3rd play through on grounded+. Masterpiece of a game/story and to those who don’t agree… missing out

Amazing. Beautiful soundtrack and amazing game. I don’t get how people rate a soundtrack just because they hate the game; especially if they haven’t even played it. Y’all need to get a life and stop crying just because the story didn’t go they you wanted.

Stunning game with this flawless soundtrack. I love the game, love the soundtrack. It set its pace and tone gracefully and elegantly.

Play The Game For Yourself. I’ll comment on the music in a second but you have to address the low star ratings being given by people who probably didn’t even play the game due to the leaks and their limited ability to see the beauty in this story. If you’re a true fan of the franchise and didn’t give a crap about the leaks, you gave the game a shot and realized it’s just as good as the first, arguably better at times. The backlash of leaks and the disappointment on direction of the sequel had no impact on deterring me from playing and it was worth it. That said, the original music isn’t nearly as memorable in this installment as are the acoustic covers but it still encompasses the tLOU vibe. You’ll hear the familiar motif and then some. Very well-done all around.

Another masterpiece in both story and soundtrack. Like the title states this game along with the soundtrack is another beautiful masterpiece. Dont listen to the haters the games story is amazing. Soundtrack made me tear up at the end. Definitely worthy of Game Of The Year i dont care what people say.

Another excellent score!. With TLOU2 OST, Gustavo once again proves that he really can do no wrong. I don’t understand why people are judging this soundtrack based on the game; that’s totally unfair to the composers. Before listening to this one, I listened to his score for the first game. That one definitely had more variety, but I still love so much of this OST. It’s haunting, yet beautiful, and recaptures the original’s themes so well. Endure and survive!

Sick to the fullest. Part 1 and 2 create a strong story of love and revenge and how far both can take a person, and the personal cost. Both soundtracks are a must have if you dig ambience.

Even better than the the first!. People are blinded by their ignorance and attachments. This astonishing piece of work should not be judged by those who don’t like the events of the story. This album is a musical masterpiece!
