Really. The first album we get in five years and this is what we’re given...

Jumped the shark. Well, Coldplay just entered the “jump the shark” world. I kind of wish the rumor was true and they did breakup the band after A Head Full of Dreams.

Where is the real Coldplay?. I've listened to Coldplay since the beginning. To say I loved their music is an understatement. Their albums have seen me through twenty years of cancer, losing my dad, and other traumas. When I couldn't sleep at night, it was Coldplay who kept me company. I've listened to this new album a couple times, hoping it would grow on me, but I'm not even 'meh' about it, I hate it. I LOVE when musicians include African, Indian, etc inspired elements, but this music just isn't good. The whole police nonsense in Trouble in Town.....well, I know, today people hate police, but my husband gave 25 years of his life to serving the public. He was a commander when he retired and he required excellency and professionalism from all the officers under him. The job stress was insane and he was nearly killed on duty (don't want to get into that) and he has many scars to prove it. In his 25 years, not one officer of his shot a person or killed anyone, throughout the huge agency. We did lose many officers in the line of duty; I can't even keep track of all the funerals we've been to laying fellow officers to rest. (Yes, there are bad cops and far too many bad corrupt PDs, but it seems like that's the majority because that's all the news reports). So for Coldplay to be 'woke' in the 'police are pigs' trend, it's hugely disappointing. Animal Farm is one of the best books ever written, so I always applaud literature references in music. Aside from that, the entire album seems like some bizarre experimental collection of music that doesn't come near to the excellency which we know Coldplay is capable. At least I still have Bon Iver and The National to keep me company next week when yet another two brain tumours will be removed. TL/DR: hate the album. Bring back Coldplay.

I wish I could give 0 stars.. This album is HORRIBLE. 1. All the songs sound like songs of other artists. It doesn’t sound like Coldplay. 2. The cursing is super unnecessary and ruins the songs even more. 3. I was super bored listening to this album for someone who was excited to learn there was a new Coldplay album.

You lost my respect.... I’ve loved Coldplay my entire life. I grew up with it and it’s so catchy and fun! I was so excited when I saw you guys came out with a new album. But this new album has EXPLICIT?! Explicit language is just boring and lazy. You guys were unique and special by NOT using language and still sounding amazing. Instead of having a clean version, you should of just started with the clean version to begin with. I’m very disappointed and will not be listening to these songs. They don’t sound like the Coldplay styles I know and love. I hope you correct your mistake in the next album. ☹️☹️

🤩. 💜

It’s not horrible. I truly disagree with everyone out there who is giving this record a one star because of the new sound and explicit album. If you listened to this album in its entirety and went back to it, you’d know that “Orphans” and “Champion Of The World” are really the only pop song on this album. So I’d stop labeling this as a pop album. The thing that make artists that have been around as long as Coldplay, are the people who enjoy change and don’t. Artists are supposed to change their style, not everyone is going to like it. Now this album isn’t perfect, but I don’t believe it’s deserving of the ridicule it’s received since release.

This album is a true experience. Let me preface this review by saying that Coldplay is my favorite band. I enjoy songs on ever one of their albums and many off of their albums too. By no means do I blindly approve of everything they come out with because I do not. When I say this is a 5 star album, I really do mean it. It may not entirely be what I’ve come to expect or remember from the band, but I found these to be a net good. Additionally, I assume these differences will live only on this album and perhaps be referenced on later ones. We see two transitional tracks as well as one intro track, similar to Mylo Xyloto. The intro, “Sunrise”, was a beautiful violin piece that gave feelings of waking up, doing your daily routine, shaking off melancholy, and being filled with hope. The other two seemed more of a pallet cleanser. “Church” is a heartfelt song about having someone special in your life. It utilizes many stretched out vocals and a short guitar solo that makes me feel happy every time I hear it. Songs like “Trouble in Town” and “Daddy” add to the experience of the album, bringing our minds to darker places but still leaving in a glimmer of hope that the world can get better. The angry guitar solo in “Trouble in Town” is an amazing thing to hear in juxtaposition to actual police body cam audio of police brutality. Hearing “Broken” after gives me a sense of recovery. Same with “When I Need a Friend.” “Arabesque” on the other hand is a begging for peace and adds new emotion to the album. Its use of improvisational-feeling sax adds to this in a way that is not seen on any other Coldplay album. Unique tracks like “Guns” give more texture to the album overall and show us the range Coldplay, and more specifically Chris can accomplish. I really enjoyed having a more subtle, yet powerful message in “Orphans” immediately after was a neat juxtaposition. Many people complained about this track, though I think it is one of the strongest despite its more pop feel. We finish with “Everyday Life”, a ballad about how we should come together and see the pain in each other as well as what makes everyone special. Ending with the repetition of hallelujah was beautiful and a great way to set the metaphorical sun. With a thought-provoking theme and meaningful features, this album is definitely worth a buy and full listen through from time to time.

Beautiful songs. Thank you Coldplay for this emotional album, I feel grateful to have it.

Get Real People!. In response to the negative reviews of this album: I’ve always been a fan of Coldplay and will continue to be. Their creativity evolves. I don’t like every song but I don’t have to. I choose which ones I like. Some have a beat, tone and lyrics that speak to me and some don’t. Every band changes over time. Just listen to the Beatles! They went from “I Want To Hold Your Hand” to “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”. Just because they started out one way doesn’t mean they stay that way. This band writes and performs because they love doing it. Their job is NOT to pacify you or to make sure you always love their sound. Get Real People! And go listen to more Coldplay. By the way, if you aren’t moved by the song “Daddy” on this album then you might just be made of Stone.

Everyday Life. This is incredible music that transends EVERYTHING!!!!

I love the album!. Why so much dislike?

The best album in a long time!!. This is the music that made me fall in love with Coldplay!! They went back to their roots from where they started and came back, awesome!!

One Star Album. I hope ColdPlay is only experimenting with this album and go back to being Coldplay on the next album 2020-2021!!!!

Disappointing. I always find it disappointing when an artist or band who has gone their entire music career without any swear words or cursing in their music and then turns the wrong corner. That was something I always appreciated about them. I’m not impressed.

Music changes. Some bands might have a bad album or good but so far this album was beautiful. It was different and I enjoyed every minute. Don’t always have to be a fan but cut some slack

Great and experimental album. Like some other reviewers I've seen on here, I'm honestly quite surprised by the amount of hate this album has received. They've taken music to a whole new level by experimenting with the world, and I for one find that risk worthwhile. Not to mention it reminds me of their older albums, such as Viva La Vida and even going as far back as Parachutes. While it is certainly different from their poppier albums (and I'll admit, I am not a fan of pop), it still holds true to the pop culture. All in all, I'm glad I gave this one a try on Spotify. It was well worth the download.

Eh. Kind of hate the explicit lyrics in some of the songs like it’s hard to listen to. It’s not the cool version it’s just angry

Oj was better. This is not great old Coldplay was 🔥!

Disappointing. I’ve always looked forward a new album to come out by Coldplay. I love their style, love their music, but I was very disappointed by their newest album. They should’ve just vacationed, and had fun singing with the natives or whatever they were doing, but shouldn’t have recorded it. It. Is. Terrible.☹️

Once again, overproduced. This album continues the trend with Coldplay from their 3rd album on...it's overproduced. It's like once they hit it big, they got exposed to all these musical "toys" and options and can't seem to resist using it all. Most everything has a kind of "wall of sound" that Chris's voice barely emerges from. There is a bland caucophony in the background of most songs that just drones on and on. I get that bands grow and try new things, but they've gone too far with that. Strip it back a little, guys!

What a great album, needed in these crazy times.. At first one might think this is just ok. Give it time and savor the nuances and it will grow on you. Art, is that way. 5 stars all the way.

Coldplay!!!!!. If you hate this band or album, don’t leave hateful reviews, just go listen to something else.

Disaster. Uh!

UwU. Wow......I woke up to an ad on YouTube in the living room where my dad feel asleep on the tv...and where my room was I heard the voice on the tv singing champion of the world and I jumped right out of bed and looked and went “oh my god they did it again”....

JUST WOW!!. As the previous album , HEADFUL OF DREAMS gave us a possible finale to this bands current state as a band .. I was surprised to see they were releasing another album.. Not only is this a great album.. it’s an IMPORTANT album as far as COLDPLAY is concerned.. their follow up to a very poppy Headful of dreams was a trip back to THE Worldly experimentation of DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS .. “my fav. CP RECORD PERIOD .. it’s also littered with elements they haven’t included in other albums they’ve done .. DADDY was prob the most intense song that effected me personally being that I’m going through an awful custody battle .. it’s From the point of view of a child who doesn’t see their papa much .. absolutely beautiful and haunting song

No good. Nobody wants this album and we need our band back. They made amazing albums to make one awful one.

Exquisite. This album is intense, empathetic, somber and soulful. Arabesque is funky, Sunrise is too beautiful for words, and Trouble in Town echoes the horrible reality of navigating life in a world riddled with injustice and hate. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. Every Coldplay album is a work of art. Johnny, Will, Guy & Chris, thanks for another awesome album! Much respect from Wisconsin.

Not their best. Coldplay has beautiful music. This is not typical Coldplay. Sounds like music people in their 20s and 30s will not listen to. I have downloaded music on my phone by them, but I will not do with this album.

One of those...... This is an album that you need to listen to several times before you will fully appreciate it (much like ghost stories). It is definitely not pop. It is very different than past albums and demonstrates Coldplay’s ability to evolve. Chris Martin said that if they do another album it will be different and it is. This is what self actualization sounds like. After some time away from this I re-listened along with the videos. As a result I increased my rating. Brilliant album especially in this post covid age.

👎🏿👎🏿. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

Wonderful, wonderful. I was personally getting tired of the poppiness of the last few albums. I didn't think they were bad, I just didn't love them nearly as much as their older albums. This, however, is the complete upheaval that my soul was yearning for. The strong messages, the mix of genres, and the truly beautiful songwriting made this album one that I listened to over and over again. Nothing wrong with some occasional dance pop, but nothing beats gospel choirs, orchestral openings, and the stark contrast between the raucousness of songs like Guns and Arabesque and the gentility of others like Old Friends and Everyday Life. People are in here complaining about missing "the old sound" but I definitely hear it here! Especially in comparison to Viva La Vida and Prospekt's March.

Coldplay Contiues To Make Amazing Music. I was dissapointed that Coldplay broke up after A Head Full of Dreams. When I read that they reunited for one more album I was excited. Everydaylife does have explict lyrics but, they don't dwell too much on our political state and the other stuff going on. Coldplay does curse if you listen to one of their live albums. So many great tracks and the vocals take me to heaven.

New Coldplay album. I bought and downloaded album. All the songs are the same! 6 sunrise songs and 6 sunset songs. Where are the other 14 songs?Apple Music messed up on this one big time! I am a Coldplay fan though. Great traveling music!

Forever and always. I’ve literally grown up listening to Coldplay and never once have they let me down, this album is no exception. I love their music, their creativity and how they are not afraid to try out new sounds and genres and things.

Every band has bad album. Like title says, this happens to every band. I truly do not care for one single track on this album, that is all I am going to say, still a fan obviously but this is not for me at all.

Fantastic. The originality woven through every song, be it experimentally or in a throwback to some tried and true methods, is simply beautiful. This is what the world needs more of. To all those “nay-sayer” reviewers, it’s clear you didn’t listen to this album from start to finish… shame on you. Bravo Coldplay, you’ve done it again. Thank you for all you do!

LOVE!. I love that Coldplay is always serving up music that’s different and heartfelt. This album plus the video have become a favorite. Keep it up, boys!

New and out of the box. This album is so refreshing. Breaking free from the constraints of formulaic and the forgettable pop song (not that I find any of Coldplay’s songs forgettable or formulaic), Coldplay finds an originality and intimate feel in this offering that is exhilarating. I was reminded of the inspirational feeling I get when creating. I love this music.

Loved the Album.. People change and many song has been written with life changes, experiences and ideals involved. No one is the same thru their lifetime, if they are then they must be very boring. Why shouldn’t Coldplay try something different. You might not like this album but thru this creative process the next could be the BEST Album ever.

A Miss. I typically love Coldplay, and up untiol this album I haven't really hated any of their songs. I have somewhat disliked, and been indifferent to some before, but this album just really doesnt do it for me. There are a few songs such as, "Everday Life" that I do like, but not many.

Disappointed. I’m a huge cold play fan but this album really let me down and disappointed. I really think they need to get back to there roots and get back to what the fans love about them .

Uplifting. Have never been much of a Coldplay fan. But this album is so good. Exactly what we need

Music is expression. Bands change , there sound is full of emotion and energy just not in the way of explosion of joy . Sometimes to understand what you wanna say in music you must look from a different perspective and this one I enjoy a lot .

A great album, but not for everyone.. It’s unsurprising that this album has mixed reviews. Coldplay has transitioned from moody acoustics, to thumping arena rock, to radio-friendly pop and dance. It’s no wonder then that fans of Coldplay are as diverse as their discography. While this did afford them the title of “biggest band in the world” it was not without consequences. Since the release of X&Y, each subsequent Coldplay album has further alienated more and more of their fan base. Has the quality of their music declined, as so many fans have cried? I believe not, rather their constant pursuit of new genres and sound has driven fans away as they stopped producing whatever kind of Coldplay a particular fan likes best. In the context of this career arc, Everyday Life is a nail in Coldplay’s coffin, a deeply experimental and unique sound that doesn’t care whatever Coldplay you want them to be. It’s a hard shift away from the previous effort, A Head Full of Dreams. That album was Coldplay at their most optimistic, and most vapid. Here they take a pointed stance. Almost every track is politically loaded, sometimes cringe-inducing in their lyrics. “Guns” is the most egregious of these, parodying the right with lyrics such as “cut the forests their so dumb.” Not exactly a subtle take, but after years of vague, meandering lyrics it is refreshing to hear Chris tell us all what he really thinks about the world. Despite the band being very socially active, rarely has their worldview been allowed to seep into their music. Now they unload all of it into a single album without restraint. Police brutality, gun control, civil war, racism, all are topics we are now privy to the bands opinions on. This likely played a large part in the albums lukewarm reception, although none of Martin’s left wing takes should be a surprise if you at all followed the band outside of their music. But despite the pointed spear their lyrics are sharpened into, the most shocking change of all in this release is the sheer breadth of styles the band attempts to cover. A wide range of musical influences has been par for the course since Viva, but this album features the most diverse track list to date. The jazzy riffs of Arabesque and the near evangelical sound of Broken are extreme departures for the band, and the entire album is filled with an Arabic theme that gives even their more traditional songs a distinct feel. Those traditional hits are good too, Orphans upbeat feel and resonating chorus harkens back to MX and Viva’s arena rock classics, while the appropriately yet unfortunately titled Daddy is a piano ballad so hauntingly beautiful that it puts many of the Rush of Blood to the Head era tracks to shame. Coldplay may be experimenting with who they are now, but they haven’t forgotten where they came from. However great the album is, it continues to disappoint fans. If you were a fan of their clean, vague, radio friendly sound, you will be put off by their profanity laced political takes. If you loved the upbeat big rock and pop smashes, the moody, gentle take of most of the tracks won’t give you much to be excited about. And if you long for the acoustic guitars and Chris’ gentle crooning of the early days, that Coldplay is never coming back. This album does not appease any particular fans of the band. But if you like Coldplay not for a particular sound, not for an era or a genre you wish they would return to, then Everyday Life is a beautiful album that is absolutely worth purchasing.

❤️. ❤️

🤦🏻‍♂️. I’m a HUGE Coldplay and I’m beyond disappointed in this album! This album carries zero weight. Just blah...

Cool. 😎

Hot Garbage. Boring and there is a song tittle written in the language that muslim terrorists use.

Didn’t even listen. Yet I know enough to write a review! Yellow was terrible. The band is terrible. The end.

perfect. disconnect your expectations for “old Coldplay”, have an open mind, and this album may just surprise you!

Ups and downs. Every artist as an album that flops, this is the one for Coldplay. Love all previous album, huge climax but nothing reach me on this one, not a single song! Very disappointed! But hey, anazing group still love them!

Good but not the best. I love Coldplay, I like pretty much enjoy all their discography, but this is the first album by them that I can forget a few songs such as guns, broken and others...it was a little experimental but not too successful, there are still great tracks on here such as the Arabic written one, everyday life, orphans, sunrise etc, so it’s not an album totally forgettable there some good tracks

new sound. it may sound more organic and closer to old coldplay in a sense, but I think if you forget its coldplay for a moment the music itself is pretty generic and not as good as theier best if the album is anything like this...well good for trying something new still in a bland industry .

Simply amazing!. The whole album is just a testament to how amazing this band is!

Ennuyant !!!!!.

Emotion. Each song tells a story, especially “Orphans”, it is a beautiful new sound, organic, dense, and fulfilling. That’s why this is my favourite song to listen to when biking at dusk or dawn, because the sunrise or sunset blends perfectly with the song, it’s hard to explain because there are no words for it...

Yes, finally some classical crossover.. A little drift from pure pop, to melancholic and classical set, just beautiful new start.

A work of art. Best album I've heard in a long while. It's a work of art. Listening from beginning track to the end is a powerful and moving experience. Thank you Coldplay. Your music makes me feel when I thought I was numb and beyond the reach of pop culture.

What a mess!. This is lazy and unremarkable. I'd say it needs editing but there'd be nothing left. You couldn't even salvage an EP from this collection of intros and outros to nowhere!

Pourri.

Different. Probably shouldn’t have pre-ordered this one. Definitely a few songs that are worth a listen, however it just doesn’t grab my attention and feels a bit disjointed.

Nope.. English bands are the worst. This isn't even music.

J’adore. Merci pour cet album unique en son genre. C’est un magnifique voyage interculturel. Un de mes albums préférés à vie!

Wow exellent. Cet album me transporte dans différents univers je l’écoute au bureau sans m’en lasser

What are you guys talking about. Ok, if you only like Pop music and the usual sound Coldplay has, this album isn’t for you and you shouldn’t rate it. It’s not because this ain’t your style of music that it’s not good, you just don’t understand the true meaning of music. This was made as an attempt to innovate, to create, to try something new. They completely delivered on this point of the album without losing us entirely, they still are Coldplay and we can hear it. Most of the songs are really good and well placed on this album, even if some songs like WOTW/POTP, When I need a friend and Old Friend are a bit too weak or lack of production and arrangements. Globally, this is quite a good work, but next time they should go deeper into the themes Chris sings about. Enjoy!

wooooowwwww. coldplayers! get ready for the new Era!!

Hope CM reads this review. Coldplay’s best album ever. For some.. This is one of those albums with a lot of complexity appearing simplistic. Firstly, this album needs to be listened to start to finish in a focused sitting. For folks who are not really fans of Coldplay and are used to their stuff as “put it on the background” music, this is not it. This is a masterful work of art. The lyrics...incredibly deep, powerful, and can be applied in many different interpretations from different perspectives. Some songs appear to be very simple on the surface (like Daddy and Everyday Life), but in the context of the whole album and experience, the simplicity works to open your mind up and hear the same words in different ways each time. The music and compositions...tons of creative chord progressions, off-beat rhythms, complex vocal melodies, all masquerading again as a simple package. Musicians will particular appreciate the beauty in how they’ve simplified incredibly complex compositions here. Just powerful, amazing, beautiful, soul-striking, inspiring music that speaks to you. It makes you feel a lot of things...contemplative, reflective, spiritual album that makes you feel more aware and present as a human being. I’m a huge fan of all Coldplay albums, in their own way...I’d say Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, and Viva La Vida could all be labeled “best ever” albums. But to me, Everyday Life is Coldplay’s signature album. It’s the purest concentrate of this band’s collective soul on display in the most beautiful artistic expression I’ve ever heard. Thank you Coldplay, and thank you Universe for pairing my life’s journey alongside that of Coldplay’s. Never felt more blessed and inspired to want others to experience that blessing.

Smart move on Coldplay's part....... Fans familiar with their pop sound from the last 12+ years may not like this album as it goes in a whole different direction. This is an album Coldplay had to do and in my opinion earned that right as they've been around for 20+ years. Frankly, I'm more partial to their earlier work such as 'Parachutes', 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' and 'X&Y'. Should they decide to record another album (hopefully) and go back to their alternative sound instead of pop then I'm good with that. And if they choose to tour and play in 20,000 seat arenas isntead of 80,000 seat stadiums then that works for me as well.

Different album and nice one. This album is more intimate. I like all the different influences. Among them you can ear some Jonny Clegg, some chorals. Frankly I was surprised I like so much of it. It is not a commercial album per say. I would define it more like a painting with themes. This is different from Cold Play, but you still get those 3 tempos songs.

Pumped!. Excited for the new album! I’ve been waiting for some new content forever, hopefully they learn from A Head Full Of Dreams, and they go back to their roots a little more, even if they don’t, I’m still pumped!

Brilliant. Coldplay continues to innovate their sound. Truly one of the greatest bands. Arabesque is a masterpiece. Keep up the amazing work guys!

بنی آدم Human Beings. بنی آدم اعضای یکدیگرند که در آفرينش ز یک گوهرند Human beings are members of a whole In creation of one essence and soul چو عضوى به درد آورد روزگار، دگر عضوها را نماند قرار If one member is afflicted with pain Other members uneasy will remain تو کز محنت دیگران بی غمی، نشاید که نامت نهند آدمی If you've no sympathy for human pain The name of human you cannot retain

Reunited. I kind of fell out of love with Coldplay for a minute there... MX and Head Full of Dreams both had some good tracks but weren’t (in my humble taste) as a whole following their best instincts... with the exception of Ghost Stories, which had some truly interesting songs (musically)... in any case, I really feel this album is a return to form. Raw, minimal schmaltz, and some of the best melodies they’ve come up with in a while. The lo-fi tracks add a sincerity I haven’t heard from them in a while, and then when more produced tracks come in, they carry a bit more punch. The instrumentals and cross-cultural flares feel surprisingly very organic and give the album both depth and weight. Not many bands can pull that off authentically. Martin’s embrace of profanity is welcomed, but it is still executed in a very Coldplay fashion. As much as I would say their three earliest albums and the in-between EPs during that time period will always be my personal favourite records from them, I really dig their evolution and feel reunited with Coldplay.

Favourite. This album has become one of my favourites of all time. ❤️

I am sad of what Coldplay has become, musically :(. It appears as though Coldplay’s latest releases probably suit today’s younger generations—more so than the ones who “grew up” (both spiritually and musically) with the band from their incarnation of their first musical releases. I had a lot of hope for this album that it wouldn’t be another AHFD. Unfortunately, hearing it in its entirety upon its release, it fails by being even worse than. I feel horrible even writing this, as I truly am a hardcore fan who has every album and has attended a concert of every tour. And I do know that my writing this will not change the band’s direction. As they are producing in the direction of their growth in experimenting with different styles. Unfortunately for me, this album is all over the place with far too many “influences” leaving it so confused of what it wants to be. I give this album 2 stars — For the only 2 good tracks on this album that are extraordinary: “Sunrise” —which is an instrumental track beautifully orchestrated (not sure if the band even played the classical instruments on this one?). —And, mainly “Champion of the world”. The latter is a true reminder and beautiful lyrical and instrumental symphony of Chris and the band linking their original sound with one true Coldplay-sounding expression whom original fans have come to love them for. The idea of Sunrise and Sunset is a beautiful and poetic theme to describe artistically. But, as trendy as this may have appeared to represent, the deliverance was very shallow, with no meaning of either displayed in this double feature. Also, with a photo of Friedrich Nietzsche slipped into the band form on the album cover, I was expecting more philosophical undertones in the lyrics of the album’s tracks. It felt undelivered as well, in this regard. As I contemplated writing this review (“If you don’t have anything good to say, then don’t say anything at all”), I decided to post it to express the heartache of a loyal fan. I was really looking forward to this album. And if this album was released as only one track (a single) being “Champion of the world”, I would have rated it 5 stars. I hope that others and newer fans of Coldplay will enjoy this release and absorb the powerful messages and wisdom that Coldplay has always played an important role in presenting to the world. Listening to their earlier stuff sets a solid foundation for appreciating the essence of the gift this band truly has to offer. Coldplay has been a gift to me: Their music has influenced me significantly overtime. But this review is about this album, and not about the band (as a whole). I hope the charm (for me) is not lost with future work of the band that I hear. I too, wish that Coldplay will once again be “Champion of the world” as they once were to me. The track explains it all with “Trying”... “Hoping”... “Dreaming”.....and finally, “Flying”.... “Riding”...and “Taking off”! (Doing!) And, after all that, what more could you really ask for?

Arabesque. Mind Bending Brilliance!!!

New Sounds #NewTour. Yeeesssssss ... cannot wait to hear it all and bestly to SEE my guys on tour ! Yay !

Petit problème au niveau des noms de piste. Les piste de l album sunset sont toute nommé sunset et celle de sunrise ont rencontré le même problème Je suis très heureux de mon achat 😊 merci à Coldplay

30Quebec Srreet. 🌻Glad to hear their old sound back again. Ive missed it. Although, I enjoyed their newer, more recent sound in the last two albums, this is a most welcomed surprise. Welcome back, ColdPlay💽

Im in love!. You can definitely hear some “old coldplay” in some of there songs which brings back some nostalgia. They have a bit of a new sound but it’s still worth listening too!

An album for the human beings. I feel pain, I feel happiness, I feel the world, I feel human beings I appreciate how Coldplay grows And how I grow with them

An unfocused, half-baked album.. I used to love Coldplay (Viva La Vida was their creative high point in my mind) so it is reluctantly that I declare this to be not very good. Still some good songs on it, but only a few.

Love Coldplay but this album.... ...is just not them. After last two albums they set their standards high and this one is a gigantic flop. Maybe the next one.

10/10/10. 10/10

Great album. Truly the greatest band in the world

Andreaug. Décevant

So different from its origin. It’s got some really good piece but I can see why they won’t tour on this album. Environmental consideration is a good excuse to not tour on it, but also good on my financial environment as I would not pay to see them present this album in a concert.

Ubuntu.... For some reason, Coldplay has written an LP that appears in my phone library as Sunrise as side A and Sunset as side B, and yet the songs titles are on my Mac. Confusing. Other than that, I Love Coldplay!! There Must Be More to come...

Good band. Why ?why do want to make me sad ? I know and that’s your special talent, make a guy think about his life and be happy, sad crabby or whatever? Your all good guys keep it up, it’s working 🇩🇪🇨🇦👍👍

Everyday life.. This band is brilliant, HOWEVER...this album is sub-par by a long shot. Distinctly average at best. This feels like a collection of B-side, previously unreleased songs which have collected dust in Coldplay’s closet since their university days. Zero cohesion and flow. I must admit, I feel a bit ripped off for pre-ordering this album and expecting brilliance, based on their history of putting out stellar albums. Perhaps they should have released a few singles instead? Next tine?

Chef d’œuvres. Bravo Coldplay 😃

Rarities and B-sides. Every successful is entitled to a release like this. For everyone calling it a new sound... hardly, this sounds like left over material from days long past, songs that didn't make the cut. Orphans definitely sounds like a left over from the last sessions. Unless you are hard core Coldplay lover this collection will disappoint. I always like to evaluate a record as if it was a band's first release. If this was the first for Coldplay it would be a clunker.

The very BEST of Coldplay. A mix of every single great things in every album to produce this masterpiece. Powerful messages getting through the ears with emotions and feelings. Enjoy it people.

Sadly another failure. I just keep wishing this band would find what they lost after the 2nd album but nothing grabs you. 😪

Overrated. Get back to the drawing board!

Coldplay’s Strongest Record.. I don’t care if you’re a Coldplay fan, or a massive hater of the band - you need to hear this record. Let it permeate through you, listen to it with keen ears and an open mind and it’ll blow you away. A masterpiece.

Champion of the World. Coldplay have the ability to produce songs that mark moments in time for me. ‘Champion of the World’ is one of them. Back to their best.

Rubbish. Where’s the actual hits? Probably 2 actual songs on the hole album..

They’re back. Coldplay is back 😍😍

🌙🌕. So excited for this album!!! Orphans is my song of 2019 so far 💛

Coldplay - bravon. Another brilliant album - love love love

Underwhelming. As an avid Coldplay fan, personally, I find the latest release to be disappointing. Whilst fans appreciate and recognise the need for change in style once a while, for me, it’s going to take a few listens to really appreciate. One or two tracks stand out, however, many tracks are skippable, not worth listening to.

So soulful and inspiring. An amazing album yet again by such an incredible band! Bravo!

Brilliant album best since Parachutes. Best album since the debut mainly because the 2nd album was overplayed everywhere when there was a tear jerking scene on tv or just bashed to death everywhere. Never liked anything in between even though I bought them this album however is brilliant Cry cry cry orphans Daddy and Broken absolute standouts.

Trash. Trash

My 2 bits. I'm over paying subscription fees or buying online and not having album sleeve photos to look at and details I can read, I've gone back to collecting Vinyls.

Wow. Another awesome album. Best band ever.

Not great. Don’t understand how there are so many 4-5 star reviews. Must be based on the 2 initally released tracks which were ok. The rest of it is like a tepid cup of tea with not biscuit.

Disappointed. I hated the last album it was such drivel that I can’t listen to it. While this is somewhat different, it’s just more of the same drivel that they seem to have been writing since Mylo Xyloto. Such a shame I was hoping for something better. I won’t be purchasing it.

Sleeper Album. Never liked it on the first few listens and I have been a huge Coldplay fan since birth pretty much. This album grew on me massively and is one of my favourites! Great change of style and sound for them!

They’re back baby!. What a great album! Only Coldplay can take something divisive and make it beautiful, just in awe!

Different (again). I don’t know how they do it but every album they have released has been completely different to the last! Really digging Orphans

Ggdjcff. Ndvfd

A mature sounding Coldplay. This album is a far cry from the uplifting sounds we heard on there last album but as far as good music goes this is def. no step down. There are a few tracks which one wonders whether they needed on this album - However the overall sound is fresh takes a different direction and should be based on present work not past work. I give this album a 4/5 as it's def. worth downloading 8-% of the tracks and will grow on you over the coming months - Infact most tracks will sit nicely in a Christmas time playlist. So def. thumbsup.

Change the station!. Lost their way some time ago.. when Orphans came on the radio recently I actually changed the station...don't think I have ever done that before.

Big disappointment!!. Big Coldplay fan, got every album etc.. This album has truly lost the identity of Coldplay.. it’s a load of waffle lyrically, It has no true meaning within the songs. Very different throughout, no flow of music being the same. Just don’t understand there thought process with this album. Very strange from this band.. real shame. Probs on there last legs, to the original fans anyway. They may gain new type of fans. What happened to the days of fix you and yellow etc etc RIP cold play.

Not going to listen. After Coldplay saying they are going to not tour because of climate change is just misguided, woke and sad... From the snippets I have heard the songs sound dire anyway. Stopped listening

Frightful dirge. As a longterm fan of Coldplay I was excited to download the new album and listen. I was so disappointed! There are only a couple of tracks that I like, the rest are so boring. I actually haven't listened right to the end as I was so put off by the dirge of this music. Come on Coldplay, go back to what we all know and love!!

Utterly Beautiful.. This is probably too deep, too good for your average listeners who might prefer manufactured pop. I absolutely love this. I hope Chris and the rest of the crew see the irony where some of the cruel one star reviews are a perfect example of the very subject Coldplay are performing. This album is very much like an art book of musical enjoyment, stirring some very deep emotions unlike any album from any musician before. Well done Chris and the gang. Love you all.

Huge letdown. Big fan of Coldplay and I’m all for bands experimenting but sorry guys this is awful bar a couple of decent tracks the rest is Very very forgettable Huge disappointment and will be very quickly forgotten

Something New.... I think it is unfortunate this album has had so many bad reviews. I for one have followed ColdPlay since Parachutes and they never fail to surprise me. I agree this album could come across as quite arrogant, but i think in terms of the content and subject matter i think it's appropriate. Music should evolve and change according to the times we live in and we do live in very divided times!! Chris Martin has always been an advocate of causes and change since the beginning so should come as no surprise that he sings about being the same blood. If you can live in a divided world then this album is NOT for you and i think you need to examine why the lyrics offend you. I give it 5 stars.

Least commercial album to date. This album is not for everybody and for sure not for this generation that grew up p on Paradise or Princess of China. Least commercially filled album. More cohesive and for people with good music taste. Incredible flexibility and talent has fulfilled this album. Mix of sounds and nations. No fillers. Second best album after Ghost Stories! Hats off

Not very musically pleasing. It’s a bit boring. I think they’ve gone a bit too abstract for me. I would say there’s only three tracks with a beat and some rhythm the rest is just noise that they’ve called music. Very dissatisfied, disappointed and a waste of money. Go back to proper music and stop trying to be totally “ Out There!!!” It doesn’t work!!!!!

Self indulgent. I was really looking forward to this album after hearing Orphans. I was hoping it would be as surprising as Ghost Stories. Unfortunately, other than Orphans it’s largely a bland affair. Perhaps I need to give it more time but it certainly isn’t an inspired listen at the moment.

Pants. Very poor. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I’m watching I’m a celebrity, and the camp mates look hungry.

Awful. Time to call it a day Coldplay (wow, that rhymed)

Back To Their Best. After a few “poppy" albums albums which I’m sure pleased the crowds, Coldplay have finally recorded an album again as the band who brought us Parachutes. The delicacy and intimacy will not be for everyone, but this album is as groundbreaking as it is beautiful. You can’t approach it in bits and pieces, it requires a full listen through.

Afwul. Just Awful

Oooh.... No rock and no roll

Awful. No identity to the songs. Forgettable rubbish. Very disappointed

A bit conflicted. Having owned and listened to all of a Coldplay’s albums, I have a tendency to compare any of their new material to their older albums. Is this their best album? No. Is this a good album? Yes, but it has its moments. The weird interludes are strange and I do not rate them. It reminds me of the A Head Full Of Dreams album. I love the imagery of making the album a double LP with Sunrise and Sunset. The song Guns is just awful. Swearing on a Coldplay track? This is something that Coldplay always avoided and I respected. The lack of a hit single makes this era quite forgettable and that is very disappointing. I suppose with over 20 years in the business, it’s hard to have that in order for an album to be successful and have longevity. To summarise, this is their worst album but it’s not unlistenable. I have given it time and I have enjoyed elements of it. However, it needed some work. It was experimental, but it just didn’t pay in my eyes. 👀

What a lovely surprise. So many great tracks over the years and so many classic singles in particular, but no album grabbed me in the way Parachutes did 20 years, and apart from the odd track I've not liked a great deal from the last few years.decided to have a quick listen to this and just wow, late night, good headphones, and after 2 days I've already listened to the whole album 4 times beginning to end. Varied, experimental in places, simple in others, with many moments of sheer beauty. Daddy is an absolute gem in particular. Coldplay I thank you, finally an album to fall in love with again. Just don't expect an album of pop songs or singalong anthems.

Back to Square One.. There was a time when Coldplay wrote majestic, soaring rock songs that would carry you on euphoric crests of waves. They were the best band in the world and I loved them. That time is long gone. Every album since X&Y has been a little worse than the last, with this one being an all time low. There’s not enough decent material here to fill an EP. I understand that they need to try new things and experiment, to stop getting bored, and that’s fine, it’s their prerogative. What gets me is the ‘fans’ that blindly follow them, when it is plainly obvious that the music is no longer there. Open your eyes and ears and start listening to the other, so much better bands that are out there today. Everything is Lost.

Rubbish. Massive massive disappointment self-indulgent crap gone the same way as muse.

Poor. There’s only 3 actual songs on this!!! I love Coldplay, but 90% of this is pretentious nonsense. Not even songs really...

Quality. Just listened from start to finish,it’s excellent for me,something slightly different and very enjoyable, less anthemic than usual but nevertheless some top tunes

Coldplay - EL. A return to form from the boys, best album since Mylo Xyloto, with songs like Champion Of The World, Everyday Life, Orphans, Church, Trouble In Town, Daddy, Broken, Cry Cry Cry, Eko, Arabesque and Guns

Brave and True. Cold Play could keep churning out the expected happy-go-lucky songs, but music should be about feelings. Good musicians don’t give the crowd what they want, all the time, but occasionally make the audience think, critically. I applaud the band for stepping out-of-the-box, and this album narrates their frustration and sadness about the world today. Play it a few times, then make a judgement.

Love it to bits!. I was almost put off from buying this album by all the negative reviews posted on here but...always make up your own mind! I love it! Granted, it is not your classic Coldplay but nothing can stay still forever. This is another side to the coin that needed to be revealed to the world. Much of it is sensitive and for me very touching. It may not be the music to make it to a stadium but it is so so good. Don’t be put off as Coldplay still rule and have evolved into something even more excellent!

What happened?!?!. Always been a big fan of Coldplay and own every album... This album, however, is the first album, OF ANY, that I can say was complete garbage from start to finish! What happened?!?! It's like a forced ”finding religion” rant and if I could get my money back I would. Listened to and promptly deleted from my iPhone. Absolute rubbish

Industry darlings bore again.... Coldplay...awful band name, samey tunes all the time, seriously need to revamp because lately all they produce is safe, tedious yawns that is well past its sell by date. They’ve basically become darlings of the industry with no real passion for music.

Why. Probably the worst Coldplay album I’ve heard. This unfortunate as it’s my 5th and I was expecting more. Very disappointed. Pity really as it’s put me off them as I feel they have just made it purely for us punters that buy these so they can make more money? Shame, I wouldn’t recommend it, only two decent songs on it!

Oh No Coldplay! What Have You Done?. I’ve had to delete every track on this album, it’s that bad! I’ve bought every album, seen them live a dozen times, but now looks like they’ve done a U2 and run out of ideas and come up with a double album of self indulgent lyrically inept soundbites. Where’s the melodies?, and the soaring anthems? that have been on every album? Chris and the guys, you’ve had an absolute howler here, (hoping this is a one-off and return to former glories next time).

Utter garbage. Coldplay ought to pay us for listening to it. What a disappointment!! Too big for their boots, and that’s coming from a die hard coldplay fan

Boring. they used to be amazing not they losing a plot

Now this is more like it! 😀. Coldplay are back! A Head Full of Dreams was more of the same but Everyday Life really pushes the boundaries of their creativity! I love almost every single song in this double album! Sunrise is a beautiful intro followed by pretty good song Church, Trouble in Town reminds me of walking through a street at night and has an amazing music video, BrokEn is a great choir song, Daddy is emotional and lovely, WOTW / POTP is an interesting recorded interlude, Arabesque is a stark contrast follows by the amazing When I need a Friend which makes you feel like your actually in a church. And that’s just the first part! The rest of it is just as good! Orphans is expertly made, Cry Cry Cry is simple but catchy, the song titled in Arabic? Is it? Carries on from the piano in Kaleidoscope from A Head Full of Dreams which is cool! And the title song at the very end is the perfect way to round it all out. Lovely, meaningful lyrics and instruments. Solid-5-stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A change of mood. I can see why many fans are disappointed in this record. It is thematic, contemplative and a mishmash of styles. It is obvious why they have decided not to tour it as it is really for plugging in and listening to as an entire piece. Personally I like it. We’ve had plenty of bangers from the band over the years and no doubt will do again. This album reflects where the world is at the moment - political polarization, environmental crisis, societies torn apart by both. ‘Daddy’ speaks to me most as I am dealing with the decline of a parent due to dementia. It really sounds to me more like a Chris Martin record than Coldplay as there are only a handful of tracks that sound like Coldplay (‘Church’, ‘Orphans’, ‘Champions of the World’ and ‘Everyday Life’ are about your lot). The lyrics are trite and obvious but musically it is a treat for the ears particularly if you’re in the mood to chill.

256260. 256260

RIP Coldplay. Each album this band makes has gotten progressively worse. More electronic, more political.. but this one is beyond. Not one track that I would call good. Parachutes, XY, that was Coldplay. Sad times

???. I just don’t get it. Very disappointing.

Waste of money!. This is Chris Martin having a laugh and experimenting. He did not release this album for his fans and shows a lack of understanding of what we want to hear. I listened to it once and deleted it straight away. I’ve never done that before!

Very cold play. 🙀 sounds ROUGH, il buy it when it's €2. 99 😕👌

Forget the climate.... ..the real reason they aren't touring to support this album is because it's pretty awful. Only a band that have already 'made it' could get away with this tosh.

Perfection. Absolute perfection

Very Disappointed. Firstly I have to say that this album is really disjointed, with many half baked ideas which dont come together. Another issue I have with albums nowadays is that two excellent songs (Orphans and Everyday Life) do not constitute a quality recording, more an E.P. The whole experience sounded initially as if the band were being influenced by Pink Floyd circa Dark Side of The Moon but without the unity or a common thread, hence the disjointed comment. So overall I would have liked to have heard a 40 minute quality album, with say 8 songs but sadly its nothing like that. Maybe the last Coldplay album I will buy, who knows?

Brilliant. This is a real departure in the main. It is so eclectic and brilliant. Showing another side to who they are. Can’t stop playing it - awesome.

Everyday life. Fantastic so different so talented 👍

One star reviewers. I don’t think all of these one star reviewers understand the concept of the album... it is Coldplay’s way of bringing to light some of the world’s main issues as they see them, covering pretty much every genre of music (even classical), but still managing to pull it together as one, comprehensive album. Yes it is experimental, but that is what keeps the music industry alive and progressing. It was never released to be performed to huge sell out stadiums. If you haven’t listened to it yet, listen to it from start to finish- the songs are put in an order for a reason, and aren’t just a list of mainstream nonsense as some people want.

Doesn’t do it for me. Coldplay, superb band couldn’t do anything wrong my absolute heroes national treasures much respect to the band but oh dear. I was so looking forward to this album, I pre ordered straight away as usual but after listening to the album several times what a waste of good money and feel that bad about it I really think I should have a refund since its barely worthy time wise of being classified as a full on single album let alone double. Have now read through all the reviews and have to agree with all the one star reviews with negative comments I feel it’s that bad. However this album is for the people who have rated five stars and give positive reviews as they are entitled to there opinion as I, and have there own taste and expectations, ideas of value for money etc. I feel that disappointed and bad about it that I deleted it from my iTunes library thus lost my money, shame I couldn’t have passed it on to save somebody else from maybe wasting there money or saving money either way.

Great EP. They should just have just put the 3 listenable tracks on an EP.

Not sure what’s happened. Purchased this album yesterday and when I go to play it in music all the tracks are listed as either sunrise or sunset. Not sure how to fix it

Dross. Coldplay haven’t made a good album in years. They’re trying to be experimental, which is all well and good, but as a band Coldplay have not been great at mixing it up. They are no Led Zeppelin or even a U2 (who successfully experimented with their sound in the early 90s). Their staple music is anthemic pop/rock. Unless they go back to making songs akin to their 2000’s period, what is the point of Coldplay?

Disappointed. I’m a big Coldplay fan, preordered the album and I’ve listened to it throughout many times now. Unfortunately I just find it underwhelming for the most part. There’s only three tracks I enjoy and I just don’t think I’ll buy a tour ticket (if there is one eventually). I’m genuinely at a loss how some critics have labelled it the best album of the decade, personally it’s easily forgettable and I’m unlikely to keep coming back for more. Orphans, Cry and Everyday life I will probably favourite into a personal “best of” Coldplay list along side other classics. For me it’s the worst album they’ve released but I guess you can’t please everyone! Hoping the next one is more fun and punchy.
