Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Remastered) by Elton John

GBYBR is Elton and Bernie at the height of their powers. This is a quintessential 70’s album that got airplay on both AM top 40 and FM album rock stations. This is the album that established Elton as a household name. The songs are good and more than that they are interesting and ever so melodic. Even the filler is fun thanks to Elton’s ability to write brilliant music. Listen to Your Sister Can’t Twist and how it bleeds into Saturday Nights Alright for fighting. It’s a great one two punch. The last song Harmony should have been a single. Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding is a master piece.

Simply Elton's best. Nothing else needs to be said, but I will add this. Whether you go back with Elton for ages like I do, or you have never heard Elton before, this is the album to buy. Quite honestly, this was the first album I ever bought and it's still my favorite album of all-time

I don’t like this in the least. Not even the “catchy “ tunes. I’m not sure how this is even on here APPLE TRYING TO SELL UNWANTED CRAP. Mmmmmmmm. Maybe.

I used my allowance to buy this double LP (saved for weeks!) when I was 15. I adored EJ and BT then and still do. This is a masterpiece and is timeless. ❤️❤️❤️

Anyone in the age groups 6 to 70 years of age will love this! We’ve seen him twice and there isn’t a better performer or talent in the music industry!!!!!

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is a very uneven album full of instrumentals, rockers, ballads, reggae and even jazzy songs. If memory serves correctly, this album was originally intended to be a single album but because of the amount of quality songs produced during the sessions, it turned into a double album. The album opens up very strongly with the haunting instrumental, “Funeral For A Friend” and goes directly into the rocking “Love Lies Bleeding”. From there you have beautiful ballads, reggae, jazz and rock and roll. The album ends, just as strongly as it opens, with “Harmony”, even though “Harmony” is an entirely different song than the opening track. It’s certainly not my favorite Elton John album but it’s definitely one of his top 5.

Got when it first came out. It's definitely aged better than I have!!! I ony wish there were a couple of more stars to give it.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is one of those albums where all the songs are REALLY good. This is Elton’s best album and also quite literally one of the best albums of all time. They’re all replayable and memorable, each being unique and creative. The songs transition well into each other and the lyrics are phenomenal. I’m 17 and I praise this album.

This was the first album I bought with my own money. I've owned it on vinyl, 8 track, cassette and CD and if they ever invent another format I'll probably buy it again. Still one of the best albums I own.

Elton John is a LORD. His music should NEVER be disrespected. God bless him!!! BUY THIS ALBUM!!! :D

Sir Elton John is truly a Legend! He is a Phenomenal Singer, Songwriter and Performer. I would give this album 10 stars if it were possible.

I grew up and into adulthood with the masterpieces. They define me. Cannot understand how anyone cannot understand and hold this absolute gem of an album outside the top 10 OF ALL TIME. Throwing your worst will never diminish this Picasso of classic rock from music’s finest decade.

Being 64 now. I had this album when I was a teen. Classic Elton. And a good musical lesson for today’s artists. No one like EJ has come up out of the pack in Fifty years.
