Love. I’ve always loved tobyMac, but this album is my favorite!

Stacy. Just came from his concert it was uplifting and his performance was amazing.

Decent. The beats are great, but I don’t really understand the lyrics. (I don’t see Jesus in them.)

He used to be great. But now Tobymac, an artist I’ve loved since DV Talk Jesus Freak, has put his support behind a terrorist group disguised as anti-racist. A group that is blatantly anti-Semitic and anti-Israel. He is not the man he used to be. I’m pro-equality but when you back a group that wants to end Israel and hates the Jews, I have to ask if your god is the same Jesus you used to be an ardent enthusiast of. Do not buy.

I want everyone I know to have this!. After being a serious DCTalk fan, I found it hard at first to follow the solo projects. This though! Every single song is worth listening to. This has spoken life into my thoughts. Tobymac is current and his lyrics are relative to the times we live in. He is using an unusual ability to appeal to multiple generations. God bless him for pointing us toward hope and love!

TobyMac never disappoints!. Toby's latest album is another home run! He continues his blend of uplifting and upbeat. True, he may be venturing beyond his rap roots, but his sound never ages! Just like his previous album, "This is Not a Test," he adds in a variety of new sounds, such as the catchy horns and cool guitar riffs in "Everything" and "Hello Future." He also sticks with the dance pop sound in some songs ("I just need u" and "Edge of My Seat"). The title track, especially, is powerful, beginning with a snowstorm in the background and ending with a prayer. Well done, Toby!

💖. TobyMac is just amazing. While I don’t like this album as much as the incredible Eye On It, I’m so glad he’s still in music and glorifying God. Some of the songs here do sound a little tired and have disappointing choruses, but that’s just me personally since I love really upbeat music. The Elements (song) is my favorite on this album, and I love the remixes of the other songs (see the St. Nemele album) Keep doing what you do, Toby. We love you and are praying for you. ❤️

This album is 🔥. I love the songs, and Scars tells a great message. When I first heard this album, I knew I had to buy it. I listen to the songs all the time, and Tobymac always has it in him

Toby is great!. This album is great. I just finished tobymac FCA golf camp and to see Toby perform these song in concert and every night in chapel was amazing. You could hear the emotion in his voice and how much he loved being there with us. He posted pictures of us on Facebook and said it was the best week of his year. And to the 1 star reviewer I hope you see these songs in a different light after this review. Thank you for reading this and God bless!

Not the album he could’ve made. Toby is almost 60 years old. This teenybopper nonsense has gotta stop. Lyrics and music are adolescent. I get that the pop genre is juvenile, but no 60-year-old should be rapping lines like “last night put the heavy on me, woke up feeling kinda lonely”. Like you should’ve sorted this out by 30 hopefully and if you haven’t don’t be rapping about it. Now is the time to share the wisdom and experience he’s certainly encountered in his career. Maybe pop and rap is not the style to approach that with.

Amazing music!. I read a comment saying that this is not deep, fella I have to say if you listen to the lyrics of these songs it is very deep and inspirational! A song called “I just need U” is all about God, and how he needs him only. Scars goes into detail on how this world fights us but to “lift our head up, to where our help comes from”. With all do respect, the person saying this album is “not deep”, I completely disagree. Anyways great music, and hopefully this will lead everyone closer to God as it has done for me! Hits a Broader audience. As someone who left the Christian faith, due to some of the horrible examples they have done to me and my family, I enjoy the fact that Toby references God and Jesus as “You.” It allows you to infer the songs in your own way, and give appreciation for the song as it strikes you. I get that it is Christian music, and having such a strong faith is absolutely beautiful. I love that people are so passionate about it. It’s just not my cup of tea, anyway, thank you Toby for being inclusive to all those who have hidden scars.

Far and away his worst yet. TobyMac has come a long ways since Dc Talk broke up in 2000. He has since experimented with rock and rap, in around 2006, he started to experiment more with pop music, which wasn’t a bad thing at the time. In 2011, he sold out to white noise before briefly returning to his roots in like 2015. Now this album he put out in 2018 is the most generic piece of garbage that any of the three DC Talk members have put out in their whole lives. Well, at least Kevin Max put out AWOL earlier that year, check out Kevin Max’s work already for cripe’s sake!

Reviewers - why so harsh?. This is a great album and like others have rightly pointed out - many artists write from what they're going through at a particular time, so for baring his heart and sharing a bit of his journey with us, the listeners, he is to be commended. I, for one, am so grateful for artists that bare even just a portion of their soul with us, the audience, and give us a minute glimpse into their journey - their hurts and successes, their hearts and their motivation. We are blessed that these have seen fit to share with total strangers - I don't know anyone else willing to do that while accepting all the negative remarks and hatred that comes with it. Which one of you keyboard-warrior-reviewers is going to do what Toby or any other artist is doing? Which one of you is going to make amazing music WHILE baring your soul to your audience while sharing some of your journey and encouraging other believers while opening yourself to the ridiculous levels of criticism from others not unlike yourself? Interpretation of music and lyrics is very subjective, so to the "Christians" complaining that he isn't writing the way you like - please just shut up. First, you presume to have knowledge you do not possess and you speak falsely when you write these reviews (Exodus 20:16). Additionally, your model of criticizing does not follow the steps outlined in scripture. Did you discuss this with him privately or did you just simply opt to leave your public review hoping readers will think "oh, that guy is super holy and righteous" and recruit others to pick on him as well? And since you obviously DO NOT KNOW Toby Mac or his family, why on earth would you pretend to know and be able to interpret his intentions? You speak falsely and should keep your mouth shut (Proverbs 17:28). I don't know him and he doesn't know me, and I don't know why I picked this album to leave a review of reviewers but all you haters have just got to stop.

Tobyyyyy!!!. How could you NOT LOVE Toby Mac?! Omgoodness!! Each song played on K-Love of his I feel! All in my heart, the latest from him is “Scars” my 7 year old & I agree that is our favorite song that it just “speaks to me” her words not mine! But then I teach my baby heavily about the Greatness of our God!

Generic. Songs are enjoyable. But like Lauren Daigle could just as easily be singing to his lover. Never mentions the name of God or Jesus. Sells music to the masses I guess.

I love Toby. ...just not so much this album. I just need U, Everything, and Starts With Me w/ Aaron Cole comprise a really great EP, with maybe Hello Future for a little funk. The rest of the songs are pretty forgettable though, with subdued musical stylings and a lack of guest artists. Not to worry though, remixes are inevitable :)

Whoa 😮. I have loved tmac ever since I heard his album “Eye on it” and I was not disappointed with this album. My favorite song on here is “Scars” because it reminds me that no matter how deep life cuts I am not alone; God is with me. It also gave me some “This is not a test” vibes when it said: “Life ain’t got no sequel

tony mac is my fav artist. He sings the best songs I love him I feel so bad that his son died and I will be praying for him and yeah he has the best songs ever but I so like David crwowder a little more than toby but he is still amazing so I'll give him a 10/10

TobyMac The Elements Review. Awesome album and I love it. It is one my favorite albums from TobyMac. My top three songs from this album would be I Just Need U, The Elements, and Everything. I would highly recommend this album to any TobyMac fans :)

Grate album. Love this album a lot. I always listen to it.

Still on steady rotation!. This album really grew on me and my family! I have never kept an album on repeat for so long in my car! It is smooth and sonically consistent. My favs are “I just need you”, “starts with me”, “it’s You”, “hello future”... okay, it’s all good! Some may miss the rap and distortion edge of previous albums, but I feel this album is a mature and heartfelt collection that resonates with my current life. My kids sing along too! Buy it!
