Best Christmas album that exists. I just can't handle the same old Christmas songs every single year, and it seems like if you want anything different your only options are the smattering of soft rock and country that are released every year. Not only is this heavy metal, but Halford manages to do it in a way that doesn't sound like a joke. With so many heavy metal Christmas songs you think "oh ha ha, it's a Christmas song but heavy metal - how funny." This isn't done ironically. It's the awesome heavy metal style you can expect from Rob Halford and every single song sounds amazing as a result.
Come on man...I want to hear the songs the traditional way. the songs done metal wise sound too dirgy. I want to hear you singing beautifully like you did on before the dawn...beautiful double tracked vocals over pretty music....not crunch guitar versions. btw, how about a covers CD like george michael did...you know singing classic songs...I would love to hear you sing "Hello" by Lional ritchie....a pretty version..faithful to his version, not metal. or the rainbow connection, sorry seems to be the hardest word...etc etc
Not what you’d expect. Some old standards and a few new songs masterfully done. This quickly became my go to Christmas album.
Simply Beautiful. Before you die, you must listen to Halford sing this song. In a word, it is beautiful. Not only is the music amazing, but Halford puts on a masterclass in operatic heavy metal that gives me shivers every time I listen to it. Wanna have a magical moment? Consume some flower, tune this up, and turn down/off the lights. It’s spiritual. Thank you Mr. Halford and band.
