Drive Thru by Slim

'Drive Thru' is the only studio recording by Christchurch-based New Zealand rock group Slim. Released in 2001, the album preceded fellow New Zealand garage-rock acts such as The D4 and The Datsuns into the New Zealand rock scene and was promoted with heavy airplay on the now defunct Alternative radio station 'Channel Z.' Regular air time was given to songs 'Real World' 'Bullet in my Hand' 'Low' 'Crumbling' and 'Rise Up.' As the start of the 21st century saw a revival in the popularity of garage rock (spearheaded by international acts such as The Strokes and The Hives) Slim's decline and breakup in early 2003 means they never reached their potential, and are now largely forgotten in comparison with other New Zealand garage rock acts beginning with D. ℗ 2001 Wildside Records
