Another Perfect Day. Another Perfect Day is the 6th studio album to be release by Motorhead, this was the 1st album without founding member Fast Eddie Clarke who left the band after Lemmy Kilmister's envolvement with Girl School and the Plasmatics. Eddie Clarke left Motorhead's during their Iron Fist tour so the band quickly signed Thin Lizzy guitarist Brain Robertson as Clarks replacement. Drummer Phil "Animal"Taylor was a huge fan of the Irsh hard rock band Thin Lizzy, so guitarist lead guitarist Brian Roberston was hired to finish the Iron Fist tour and record the subsequently record. Lemmy Kilmister absolutely hated Another Perfect Day LP which is largely attributed to Brian Robertson who was difficult to work with in the studio, Robertson took up to 17 hours just to record a guitar track which made the album longer to record than previos LP's. Another Perfect Day is the only Motorhead album Brian Robertson would appear on , in studio difficluties complied by Brian Robertson's stage antics (one being refusing to play music from presious albums) would bring to an the Kilister, Taylor, Robertson trio. Another Perfect Day is unlike any other albulm in the bands 22 studio album repertoire, departing from the derivative Motorhead sound, Another Perfect Day delivers a unique musical experience unsurpassed by the Motorhead disography, the opening track Back At The Funny Farm is a kick in the chest single that is a mix of Iron Fist/Ace Of Spades which Lemmy Kilmister's gravel voice and distortion base...a fist pumping song if there ever was one. Every song on the album is a gem and the LP has absolutely no filler so there is no need to skip tracks...perfect music for speeding on the interstate .
Hugely Under-rated. Ignore all the talking heads on "Behind The Music" (most of whom weren't born when this line-up toured), this album is one of Motorhead's best. No, Robbo didn't fit in image wise, but as a guitarist & songwriter he was utterly PERFECT. It's also one of the few Motorhead albums with a production job that does it justice.
