Nostalgia. This album brings back so many memories. A couple of the songs seem to be underrated as they are only 69cents(not complaining), when they are some of the best. Isis is probably one of my favorite songs of all time and I get a shiver down my spine every time I listen to it.

They saved me. I self harm and I listen to this music and it makes me realize what I have to live. Thank you. Worth every penny.

Did not realize this was not the original.. Downloaded and paid for the song, however, I was unaware that this was not the original version. Just does not sound right.

Could be better. Compared to the cover that Sawyer Fredericks did on the Voice, this version is over orchestrated and too slow. The lyrics are powerful and good but this version doesn't do it justice.

Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits. I bought this album to get most of My favorite Goo Goo Dolls songs. Come to find out a couple of songs I liked were not on the album and had to purchase separately. Also Messed up version of Name. I prefer the original :( Now I probably have to buy that one separately too insert angry face!!!!

LOVE <3. One of the greatest albums of the 2000's. I know its has songs from the 90's too but its seriously good. When they play, you can tell that there not just words to them. You can hear the emotion in the song. Its great.

First Dance. Had my first dance with a girl to iris. Been listening to them since I was born. Slide was playing in the waiting room, according to my sister, when i was born.

Great songs, bad remastering. one of my all-time favorite bands. Unfortunatly they remastered (and distorted) the sound and it's not like the originals. I'll stick with the tracks from the original album.

Under Rated. The Goo Goo Dolls are one of the most under rated ands ever! Love them!

Favorite Band. The Goo Goo Dolls are my all time favorite band. No other music, and I mean NONE, can make me feel the way their songs do. John's voice and the sweet sound of guitars combine into something almost magical. When I close my eyes it takes me away to my childhood. These are the songs I grew up on. This is the band I snuck out of my window and drove 2 hours upstate to see in some seedy place when they were just beginning. I am so proud of how far they've come, and what they have accomplished. I think it's safe to say I will be listening to the Goo Goo Dolls till the day I die. Thank you for your music.

Iris. I couldn’t stop listening to this song. It was my mother’s favorite song, we used to play it before she died. She was listening to that song while she passed. Thanks Goo Goo Dolls for making her life great

Daddy. Iris is a song about my daddy it seems like . He was disabled because of severe scoliosis and sometimes people would make him feel uncomfortable so towards the end of his life he rarely left our home. But he was a great dad and man. "Iris" really hit home for me. Thank you goo goo dolls for such a touching song. 💟 daddy's girl .

Beautiful. First time I heard these songs was when I'm in High School. That's four years ago. Until now, these songs still sit in my Top-20 songs Most Played playlist. There are just so many beauty, memories, tears and happiness evoked every time I listen to them. Those feelings... no words can be enough to describe them.

Great with one exception. The version of "Name" on this album is not the version I remember. Since its perhaps their best song, I was disappointed that it was not the original version. Did they rerecord it for this album?

rerecorded?. I bought "Name" and it sounds like its rerecorded. Its not sung the same as the track from the original LP, have a listen. The length is even different. Kind of disappointing because I don't like it. if you're going to rerecord something list it as such this way I dont have to waste my money.

From HS through College. From high school field trips to college road trips this album paints the landscape of those memories.

Bad Rap. I had a taste for some Goo Goo Dolls music so I looked up this Greatest Hits collection. Curious how the Itunes folks would review such a commercially successful band, I read their review. The poorly masked disdain for this music by the reviewer is deplorable and if he or she had such a predetermined bias why were they reviewing the album? Instead these are well crafted songs with very good musicianship. The lyrics are thoughtful, introspective, and appeal to many existential questions about who we are and how we treat each other. So bravo to the band and a thumbs down to the reviewer...

Greatest hits for a reason. I love the goo goo dolls and obviously this is the best choice for fans. Plus every song is enjoyable .

The Goo Goo Dolls were spot ON.... it was a wonderful night...... brought back some great memories of the late 90's..... born in the early 60's, I love all types of music.... The Goo Goo Dolls are one of my top ten bands of all times..... Love them!! Great collection of timeless music...

More than just a one hit wonder. Admittedly the only song that I could instantly call to mind when someone mentions the Goo Goo Dolls the of course Iris, but they are so much more than just that one song, and after having listening to more of their back catalogue I realize just how much they have impacted on my musical subconscious. Name and Black Balloon are incredible songs, and yet there are so many more musical gems on this album. There is not a poor song on show here. If you are a Johnny come lately or just a little curious as to who and what the Goo Dolls are, this download should be your first stop on the Goo Dolls anthology trail. A purchase that you will not regret.

Perfect. This is a great album. I love the redo of a few songs. These two greatest hits albums really tell the story of how the Goo Goo Dolls evolved yet still hold true to the punk music they came from. Still my heroes.

Volume 1. Of course this is a good album with many favorites that dont get old for me , well maybe slowly now and volume 2 will be coming out in the next few months. My only dissappointment is the lack of any new album release that I am aware of.C'mon guys give us more !!!

Great mix. This is a great mix - "Slide" will always be one of my favourite songs of all time. Much prefer the original recording of "Name", though. Great selection of songs and a brilliant introduction if you're not familiar with them.

Goo Goo Dolls. One of the best albums I have heard. I first saw this band on Live at Abbey Road and that was what spurred me on to buy this album and I am not disapponted - but am surprised that their records are not played on the radio more often (excluding Iris).

The best of goo. Best CD I have ever listened to. This CD includes the goos 14 best ever songs from their ten albums, to deliver an album of abolsute brilliance. Thoughtful, poetic lyrics, beautiful and evocative melodies. Its about time this album was made.

Greatest Hits. The Goo Goo Dolls are one of my favourite bands on my ipod. The songs they produce are just incredible. Iris is the best song they have done, and that song was the reason i started listening to GGD. This is a good album if you don't own all their albums. It would of been nice if there were some new songs on here, but it does have Before It's Too Late which was a song for the Transformers movie. My rating is 8/10. What is this doing in the top 5!!!!!!!. All these bands criticise BGT, but are quick to cash in when their songs are featured on it!! Talk about being hypocrites! :(((

A Band of two halves.... In the early 90's I fell in love with a snotty power punk trio called Goo Goo Dolls who were on an independent label and rattled out Replacements' style riffs and knock about choruses. They had comedy covers on every album (CCR and Prince both got guest lounge singer The Incredible Lance Diamond's unique treatment) and were as chaotic as they were inconsistent. Their first 4-5 albums had stunning highlights and scrappy throwaways in equal measure. But they were a fun proposition always. These songs come from a completely different sound, and a completely different approach and as a result The Goo Goo Dolls of MTV USA and many a movie Sountrack fame are for all intents and purposes a completely different band. Just the same 3 guys and the same name remain. That's not to say I don't like this Goo Goo Dolls. And this model is definetley the more successful. All the AM radio polish you could wish for lies in these 14 tracks. Iris, Name, Black Balloon, Here Is Gone are all wonderful examples of modern radio rock. But if you want to hear the Best Of The Goo Goo Dolls as opposed to the Greatest Hits, check out the compilation album from about 7 years ago entitled Ego, Opinion, Art & Commerce. Here they did something unique. On the cusp of their big change in sound, they re-recorded the highlights from their back catalouge. Changed the arrangements and made a record which bridged 2 minute punk bursts with titles like Up Yours and I'm Addicted to ballads like We Are The Normal and the sublime 3 Days In February. This set is only half the story. And it's not the fun half. Here's hoping Vol 2 sets the record straight.

Iris. Best song EVER!

Amazing. After hearing 'iris' i decide to check The Goo Goo Dolls out. Wow, i loved every song on this album, which is rare. For just discovering GGD i'am blown away with this album. They have instantly rocketed to my fav band and i will certainly be buying the rest of their albums.

Throx. This album is amazing, GGD inspired me to be where i am now and thats brought me a lot of suceeding and achieving self goals their talent is truly incredible

Kickin Rockin Buzzin. Whilst i admit i only knew IRIS and thought GGD did nothing more, this greatest hits album is awesome. Its gritty Hearfelt ballads mixed with anthemic rock tracks. Will be listening to this for times to come. Have downloaded the second greets hits album off the back of this one.

Amazing!!!!!. Amazing album black balloon is the best song on this album and arguably the greatest song ever written!!!!! Wish they had been as big in the uk as they are in the u.s! Shame iris has been slightly ruined by being over played thanks to the x-factor!!!!!! Ps notbroken off the album something for the rest of us is amazing!!

Can it get any better?. It's funny sometimes how you can hear a song, realise what it is a long time after and realise how much you love it. I heard Iris for the very first time about 2 years ago and searched frantically for it. From then on the Goo Goo Doll's have been a vital part of my life! Although the sound of their music may have changed from what I can hear, between dizzy and let love in, I can still listen to their music for hours on end without getting bored. This album is a perfect selection of the best songs they have done, and I guaruntee anyone who remotely likes rock pop or indie will be blown away. Still going strong, It doesn't look like anything can stop the Goo Goo Dolls

Wow.. Iris has been my favourite song for like a year, I was so surprised when suddenly it's at #1! It deserves to be, though! Now I just find it a little bit less special because I thought it was my song, like the only song that nobody really knew about, LOL. Oh well. :D

Brilliant. While their music isn't exactly earth shattering, it still remains awesome. They are one of my favourite bands and are pretty much timeless. Don't just listen to the beautiful Iris, because they sure have more than that to offer. My favourites on this album are: -Slide -Dizzy -Sympathy -Broadway -Let Love In -Before It's Too Late But all the tracks are amazing. I recommend it to anyone.

beginning of a new era. the goo goo dolls have released their first greatest hits album, it is to be followed up in the early part of 2008 with a second GH containing more specialist goo fan tracks some covers and remixes! these albums herald the band returning to their own new built studio in their home town of buffalo to reord a new album returning to their earlier roots!! GH1 is a brilliant collection of their best songs for both ardent goo fans and those yet to discover the band!! excellent

Good for the new fan. The old fan will already have all these songs, but it's a good introduction to the band with all the classics. My personal favourites are: Black Balloon, Here is Gone, Name, Better Days, Slide and of course, Iris. Once you're hooked on this album buy the Live in Buffalo CD/DVD to hear the Goo Goo Dolls live - where they are even better. Buy Let Love In to hear the beautiful song Become, and buy the new single Real which is great. xx

BEST ALBUM I HAVE EVER BOUGHT!!!!!!. I only found out about The Goo Goo Dolls last month and they are already my favourite band. This is by far the greatest album i have bought, every song is amazing! A definite by for any Goo Goo Dolls fan or anyone not a Goo Goo Dolls fan for that matter. 10/10

Does exactly what it says on the tin. These are the hits of an awesome band. Some great Goos songs are missing but you can't go wrong with any of the tracks on this album.
