With a voice that's a cross between Waylon Jennings and Jerry Reed it is pure country with original lyrics about heartache, sorrow and pain and surviving yet is very upbeat and positive. I'm a huge fan of this guy's originality and his obvious tip-of-the-hat to the greats before him!

WoW. I accidentally came across Sturgill Simpson. I've never heard of him, but I must say I agree with the previous comment, this is what country needs.!!.The country music fans have been left out in the cold without any "TRUE" country songs anymore. Everything is so fast paced, off beat, and drowned out by the, what I call, hip hop country. Sturgill Simpsons songs are stomping ground and taking country music back to its roots and reason it's called country music. Very impressed and ready to sing a country tune now. Also Chris Stapleton is awesome.
