Favorite Christmas album of all time!. This album I could play on repeat for all of December. Seriously my favorite Christmas album. And now there's another one! This is a must have for Christmas music!

I think that this is the best Christmas album ever. This sufjan Stevens Christmas album is excellent recorded from 2001-2006 i just think that songs for Christmas and his other Christmas album (silver and gold) are the best Christmas album ever i first heard this album like… oh god I don’t even remember maybe like when I was 2 if not even younger now at age 14 I still think that this album and silver and gold are still the best Christmas albums ever don’t hesitate to buy them just buy them because they are so good! There are some old familiar favorites like silent night, the little drummer boy along with some original songs like put the lights on the tree, that was the worst Christmas ever (my favorite Christmas song) etc but just buy this album along with silver and gold! Fun fact every year between 2001-2010 he would record these songs and give them to family members and then eventually released them officially to the public!

Fantastic. Last December, I would fall asleep to this every single night. I listen to this album all year round, too. It's just amazing and breath-taking. I really love Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, Sister Winter, and well, eveything else. If you know Sufjan, don't even hesitate. This is beautiful. Christmas music - and simply music - at it's best.

Christmas music from the heart and soul. Okay, I got this set on CD and there are many pieces that I left off my Christmas iPod (11.5 hours of music) but some of my absolute favorites are from this collection. Sufjan is an artist unlike any other. He can do anything from avant garde, orchestral suites to electronica to stripped-down Americana accompanying himself on the banjo. These Christmas tunes are, for the most part, more from the Americana-Sufjan. You can feel his Christian passion coming through on all of these, even the ones that are more about the gift-giving/Santa side of Christmas (no easy thing to do). There are so many Christmas albums out there and this is one of the very few that springs from a source of spiritualism rather than commercialism. But don't fear, it's not going to sound like Amy Grant or what you may come to mind when you think of "Christian Music." There's a lot of great music here but the following have been elevated to classics in our family and I legitimately look forward to putting these on when the holidays roll around: Put the Lights on the Tree, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, Only At Christmas Time, Once in David's Royal City, Come on Let's Boogie to the Elf Dance. It's a treat to be able to add some very new Christmas tunes into the "usual suspects." Explore this collection and enjoy!

Not quite for me.... Perhaps if you're a huge Sufjan Stevens fan you'll love this album. I'm only a bit of a fan and therefore am disappointed in the album because some of his stuff is a bit too eclectic for me. That being said there are a couple of songs that I'll listen to over and over: Amazing grace, What Child is this Anyway?, O Come O Come, That Was the Worst Christmas Ever. Perhaps preview the songs and see which ones you really like first.
