Quality. This album is an excellent one because the quality is great and you can really hear barbra on every song. she's not drowned out by the music like some of the other recordings. I got to this album intending to buy The Way We Were and Don't Rain on My Parade and ended up buying the whole thing. an excellent addition to any fan's library--even if you've got some of the songs already, this album is a must because of the great quality and track balance.

The Essential Barbra Streisand. This album is nothing short of amazing! It showcases Steisands uncanny ability to sing such beautifully melodic wide ranging tunes throughout her career of over 40 years with the delicate crispness of her early vocals. Her voice is like a finely tuned instrument that never misses a note and plays with its whole heart portraying emotions that are often indescribable with the English language. I did not know who she was but I knew her voice was the most beautiful I had ever heard and I have never been affected by anyone’s voice like hers in my life since.
