No, and this is why:. Sia Furler - I'm quite fond of your past music, but your recent actions over the last few years have been wholly unacceptable. In regards to the production of this film: you knew better, but actively chose to not do better, and so your consumers were left no other choice than to boycott this mess. We the people told you that you were doing bad things that were harmful to the autistic community, and you didn't listen - in fact, you mocked those critics to the point that your ignorance and insensitivity had you trending on Twitter for an entire day - so negative reviews is what you get. A lesson in respect and of representation is what can be learned from this failure. I would rate it zero stars if I could. x

ableist. how dare you sia you’re disgusting.

A disaster. The lead learnt how to play an autistic character by watching videos of meltdowns on YouTube. There is not a single non-neurotypical actor. It’s promoted by Autism Speaks, a notoriously ableist organisation. And apparently the character’s meltdown is “fixed” by people jumping?? What?? SIA should have done her research. This is a failure.

This movie is NOT for autistic people.. Don’t let the description fool you, this movie is very, very ableist. It encourages things like prone restraint (tackling an autistic person to the ground when they’re having a meltdown) which can severely hurt autistic people, both physically and psychologically. Doesn’t help that the actor for the main autistic character is not autistic herself. Do not support this movie by buying this soundtrack. Every autistic person who has been denied proper representation BEGS you not to.

A masterpiece. Loved the movie and the music is brilliant. I don’t understand the negativity about an actor acting! That’s what they do and the acting was deserving of recognition for the honest portrayal.

The music is amazing but the film.... I will no longer support Sia’s future projects. What an ableist human being.
