Great album. J Cole is one of the best NEW rappers. Glad to hear someone lyrical for a change. Cole puts theTrinidad James' and the Waka Flaka's to shame. Coles sophomore album lyrically trumps his first album, don't expect too many radio friendly tracks here. True hip hop head album here.

Crooked Smile is now Straight!. This album restored my bad feelings about Rap music being garbage this year! Crooked Smile also sounds like an early 2000's R&B song, so props for that! Bringin' it back old school!

As close to a classic as hip hop can come these days. I pre-ordered this because of the leak!! I only gave into listening to it beforehand because it was available on J. Cole's site but I was so blown away that I couldn't not support it. J. Cole's lyricism is witty, fun, and even introspective at times! The production is perhaps the show stealer though with a blend of blueprint/college dropout Kanye, mid-to-late-nineties east coast, a dash of old school Outkast, and Cole's own flavor, the beats are magically nostalgic yet freshly foreign. The missteps are minor but the album could have benefitted from some diversity hook-wise (J. Cole does the majority of them). Content-wise, the album has a few impressive departures from typical hip hop themes, but the bulk of the album is centered around boasting and women. You will NOT be disappointed, this is a must have for anyone who feels like the mid 90's to early 2000's was the golden age of hip hop.

Style. Sounds like cole picked up a whole different style on this one had to give it a 2 rating 1st albums a 5 no doubt but this one defines a whole different person in my opinion beats aen't the same styles changed still purchased it out of respect of every hood homies hustle GO HARD!

Not bad!. Better than the first one that's for sure! Some of his lyrics still sound a bit cheesy to me and he seems to try a bit to hard at times... No idea why i get that impression with J Cole but overall great album

J Cole is the Man. This album may get outsold and outmarketed by Kanye's 'Yeezus' but Born SInner is easily one of the best rap albums I've heard in a while now. Lyrically, there hasn't been another album released this year that can compete with it. An extremely underrated album and deserves much more credit than it's gotten so far...If you're a fan of rap, you will not regret getting this album. 4.5/5 Stars.
