Very different from her other albums, but I love this new direction!. Bear Creek is one of the better albums I have heard in a long time. Every single song has beautiful lyrics, vocals, and layers of bluegrass, folk, gospel etc. It is a whole new sound for her, but I think it is her best album to date and I love this new direction she has taken. Go Brandi! Buy this album you will not regret it :)

Raw. I sense more raw emotion in this album than her others, and I love it! I've loved everything she's ever released and this is no different. Bear Creek is an incredible album, thanks Brandi!

Always rich. I saw Brandi perform with the Seattle Symphony before I was familiar with her music, and I promised myself I'd never miss a concert again. Her albums are meticulously created, and live, her songs are re-created with energy and depth. I'd call her an old soul, but I think an ageless soul would be more accurate. I feel like we're growing up together.

Best Yet From Brandi. Brandi really takes it up a notch on this album. The lyrics are as profound as previous work by Brandi, but the arrangements are absolutely amazing. This album grabbed me from the first first time I heard it. The band is the best she has ever worked with. Brandi is ready for her close up and she should get it with this album.

Bear Creek. Bought this because it is the name of the place my grandparents came from on my mothers side of the family in NC. Black bears roam this area of NC. Her music is in a style my grandparents would have liked, and because she reminds me of them with this album, I'll pay more attention to her music! I really like her singing style from discovering this album here on iTunes today. I don't pay attention to the world around me much, stay busy within my own little universe, so seems like God pointed me in this direction when I found this album! Plus this past December I successfully got a kidney and pancreas transplant and my life has really taken a turn for the miraculous, so guess this miracle year for me is still working with things like the 'Bear Creek' album! Maybe, just maybe the spirits of my grandparents just might have nudged my brain a bit. Have to say I've seen some very amazing things since the transplants on the miracle side of life, know many will not believe that kind of statement, but miracles are real! Great Album. Can easily listen to every song on this album in one sitting. Just pour a glass of wine or crack open a craft beer. Yum.

Moving. An absolutely amazing lyrical artist. And her insane vocals on top of it makes quite the moving combo. Quickly became a fav album of mine!

Soundtrack to Summer. What a brilliant album - will be my summer soundtrack. Brandi is one of those rare artists where just about every song on all of her albums is equally as great as the last. Never do I usually have difficulty in picking a favourite, but she makes this a very difficult task. Highly recommend this record!

So Good Live. See her live. Hands down amazing show. She's got a great voice. Whole band rocks. Buy this.

Feels like home.... Never heard of her before until I watched a movie with her song in it. "Hearts Content". I searched here and this cd popped up. I listened to a couple of songs and absolutely fell in love. Her sound makes you feel like you're home. Wherever you are. In the city, country, her music is home. I'm fortunate to have found you Miss Brandi Carlile.

Acoustic Style is Ear Moving!. Some sounds just need to be heard to be understood! And Brandi's sounds are some of those sweet ones! Nothing takes the place of listening for yourself.

This album is full of ooohs.... ...literally. It took a second to embrace this album. The first half of the cd had my attention but the second half was teetering off a cliff barely hanging on. It's almost 2 separate albums. I'm not sure if its poor arrangement of song order or what but it certainly lacks cohesion. But what brings me to come around and love this album is that each song still reminds me of Brandi and the twins- slightly dorky, very humble, and extremely introspective.

Most Polished Album. In my opinion this album is her most polished. It has a more… mainstream feel to it. I say this because I have heard these songs on the radio quite a bit… and it sounds mainstream, but the best yet.

She did it...again.. After 5 years, I'm still in love with Brandi. She can't produce anything less than stellar music.

Old Timey down home cooking. I didn't think there would be anyway that I would love this album better than The Story but I definitly do. It has that old time feel similar to the storyl. I liked it the very first time that I I heard it.

Indescribable. Not often will you find me listening to a whole album on repeat. From the initial discovery, from a car commercial, I am hooked. Although she may sound more country, do not let this dismay you. She has a natural born rasp and pure talent. Her lyrics fly out of the songs and stay with you. To put it simply, give it a listen.

Bear Creek is the Best yet. I love Brandi's music and get to hear her live often. This album is my favorite so far (yeah, I expect more!) It crosses so many genres! Bluegrass, new country, blues, even some 80's dance beats and world sounds. Her voice is amazing. What she does with Just Kids was totally unexpected and ethereal. Wow, Brandi! Wowow.

The best so far from Carlile and the band. Such a great mix of sound and soul. I enjoyed every song and this album is relatable and mature. A bit of something for everyone. Folk and country with a dash of bluesy rock. Loved it!

Amazing. I have loved Brandi since the beginning and when I finally saw her in person, she touched my soul. She talked about when she sang "That Wasn't Me" to a bunch of woman prisoners on a table of the lunchroom. Her voice is the perfect mix of Johnny Cash and Janis Joplin and people who say she falls flat can just leave her page. Haters don't deserve to listen to her angel voice.

AWARD. Brandi and the band deserve a Grammy for this one!! After listening to it more, there is so much personality in this. Different style here and there sounds good!!! You know some artists and every song sounds like the last!! This album is NOT like that Thank God! She is growing - we grow with her! I LOVE BEAR CREEK!!!

Her best album yet.. Soulful but not cheesy. Lyrically, one of the best albums I've heard. I keep flipping on which song is my favorite. Crazy about this album. I've listened to it non-stop for a week! Buy it.

fantastic. every word, every note, every song

Amazingly sexy soul capturing voice. Very very unique voice with a very deep layered quality. Her voice just melts my soul (oh are there words to the songs?) I will have to write another review on the depth of those. But if you sit back, close your eyes and just listen its amazing! If I am not mistaken I think she is yet to really let her voice go. Right now she is like holding back a race horse I can't wait to hear the final stretch....but not too soon gotta enjoy this for a while first:)

Love her music. Just attended her 2nd show of the Bear Creek Tour in the Twin Cities on 6-21-12. She played a great mix of old and new. If you haven't seen Brandi live, don't miss it. She is incredible and her band sounds better than ever! She had the crowd in the palm of her hands from start to finish. Love the music on her new album. I feel it is really true to her spirit!

Love her music!. I usually don't like any cd the first time I listen to it, but Bear Creek was an exception. I've seen Brandi live twice and hopefully this summer will be my third. I have all of her CDs and can't pick a fav, I love them all. She and the twins just sound so perfect together. She truly is one of the most underrated talents of our time!

Awesome!. I first heard Brandi five years ago when she played outside Chicago. I've seen her numerous times, and I'm a guy!! LOL My gf loves her very much and so do I. This album is amazing!

Brandi inspires me to continue to write and craft songs. Brandi continues to be an insipiration on my own songwriting, as well as her aggresive strumming on an acoustic, her gritty vocals, her amazing ability to craft lyrics that move the soul. This record showcases a more country side of Brandi that is nothing short of brilliant!

Where does this soul come from?. Every album amazes me with its uniqueness and new complexities. When I heard "Raise Hell," I thought for sure that it must be a cover of a Johnny Cash song I had not heard before. This team is such a prolific group of songwriters, and this collection has a range unlike any of the others. I am trying to savor it, but I love it so much that I can't stop listening.

Brilliant!. Ms. Carlile cannot write a bad song. I am 100% convinced of this. Bear Creek is a delighful, quiet album of fantastic songs, wonderful harmonies, and good fuzzy feelings. 4 albums in, and I just love her more and more!!
