It's pretty good. Not his best though. But i still love John Mayer. He's a great artist and song writer

Say. A hundred reminders is still sometimes not enough to remind me to be honest and true to myself. "Say" helps me to open my heart. Thank you John!

weird. its like 3 minutes and 50 seconds of him repeating the line "say ehat you need to say"

Clearly a commercially written song. I agree.......repeating the verse so many times is simply the marketing team for the movie driving this song. The song shows little imagination and little musical genius. Do not misunderstand me........ I really do love John Mayer. I am simply shocked that he would do such a commerialized song.

Jump off a bridge... ..if you think this song is good. Please you'll be one less idiot alive. The song is 3:50 long and 3:40 of it is the same damm lyrics. "Say what you need to say" well god dammit say it already. They play this song at work at Outback and every time it does it makes me have suicidal thoughts. Listen to some real music like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Foo Fighters c'mon now people stop living under a rock.. 0 stars. Better yet. -5 stars..

THe BEst. I have to disagree with many of the previous reviewers. Even though John says "say what you need to say" like a hundred times. The song is still beautiful and great.

Wish it had a real ending. I hate when they fade out a good song rather than put in the effort for a real ending. That said I find this song to be beautiful, powerful, and almost perfect.

HATE THIS SONG. if i could rate it 0 stars, I WOULD! this song is absolutely terrible!! ive hated this song ever since it first came out! im not very judging to people but this is ridiculous. "say whatcha need to say." well dear john, this it what i need to say... F*** YOU AND THIS SONG.

Apples.. I like apples. 🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏.

Love it. Great song. Especially, in "The Karate Kid.

Inspiring. Inspiring

AMAZING AND HEARTFELT. Amazing and really true song. I've had many different glances at life and of heart because of it. It has made me cry many times because it really makes your perspective change. It's best to listen to it when your in a rough spot. It gets you through and can change your way of thinking. Such a heartfelt song that I will never forget. WORTH THE MONEY!

Older Stuff is better. Check out Troy W Smith He rocks out..

Halfwits abound. For all those who remain unimpressed, I sincerely hope you can experience bits, pieces, and stretches of life that help you understand his lyrical statement, "Say what you mean to say, say what you mean to say." If that doesn't work out for you, I'm afraid I doubt in ernest the depth and complexity of your intelligence. Sorry schmuck. And from here on out, PLEASE think (it's hard, I know, deep breath) before you speak about something you know nothing about. Cheers.

Good. I love this long but I get it I'll say what I need to say.

. Great song , Great movie Big fan of JM  ~

Good. Too much to say.. John Mayer sounds good but is waaaaay too repetitive in this song.

Matt, ur wrong this song is awesome. This single is one of my favorites by John Mayer

It's SOOOO boring and bad!. John only says one line 1 MILLION TIMES! Please hire a better song writer. It will help your career. Don't buy this song! SAVE YOUR $1.29!

Great song. Great song especially at the ending of the movie "the bucket list"

It's great. Wonderful words great song! It makes you think about who you might need to talk to before you can't.

Awesome! It. This is John Mayer's best song, I think. When it first came out (for the movie "The Bucket List) I got the music video for free! Now, it's $1.29! I definitely recommend to buy this song! (btw, VERY GOOD MOVIE)

nice song -hermosa cancion. this will be a nice theme for a movie........i could listen this song 1,000,000 times. i like it, i picture myself on a tallets tower of any city seating on the edge of it listening this song,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

absolutley nauseating.. This song makes me want to pull a Columbine.

One of the best singles of ALL time!. Amazing message

For all without a voice. This song tells those who has such a hard time useing their god given right voice to tell people what they mean to say, to just.." say it", but so many people don't. For so many reasons, our parents teach us at a young age that we are not to talk back, when we grow older we don't use our voice for so many things afraid we will hurt someone or that maybe it's out of place to say something and so we end up NOT SAYING IT and hurting ourselves instead. I get this song and I hope others get it to, and can finally open up and say what they need to say even if they have to sing it a million times before they can say it out loud. Thanks John for always singing what the soul needs.

Love this song!. Can't stop listening

One of Mayer's Best. "Heartbreak Warfare" is his best, but "Say" is pretty good, too. If you like Mayer you'll like this for sure.

Say. Perfect song suggested to me by BC. Helped me through a hard time. One of John Mayer's best songs. The words speak to the thirties generation.

Bummer. This song is very akward and annoying. Like his old album better.

Repeat it as many times as is necessary - Say What You Need to Say. I don't know where the other critics get off by saying that the verse is repeated far too often. The reason this song is a hit, is that too many people today hide their thoughts, emotions and opinions for fear of repercussions - ridicule, abandonment, suppression, violence...etc. The repeat of the verse is almost a chant of encouragement to those who are 'holding back' that says, just let go and "Say What You Need to Say." For me what I had to say was, "I want a divorce." This song helped me summon the courage. This is essentially a song in support of the First Amendment! Go on Say It!

NOT A FAN but a good song.. I'm not a John Mayer fan, but this is a catchy song. It's one of those songs you might hear in a commercial or snip in a movie (more recently "Karate Kid" 2010) and sticks in your head. SO, from a non-fan perspective, I like it and give it 4 **** stars.

lazy lyricist. I always think of this song as a shortcut for John since he really didn't need to put much thought in to the overly repetitive lyrics. It pains me to see it as his top song since lyrics to his other songs acutally have meaning. I'm a little tired of him anyway.

Say. I first heard this song during the movie Bucketlist. It really fits the mood of the film. A long-term keeper.

😍😍😍. Love John!

It’s a classic.. Haters gonna hate

🤢. I've ALWAYS hated this song 🙄 so happy it doesn't play anymore

annoying. hey, mayer, say what YOU need to say

Ok. I think John Mayer is ok.

Say (song). I'm going to say what I need to say, what a piece of crap. They say smoking does make U forget, John how much did U smoke when writing this. When I first heard this I thought the stupid musak was skipping, but no just a stupid song.

SAY. One of those songs I wish I could have written. Love it!!

Say what I need to say!. The song says say whatcha need to say....AND I SAY ITS AWESOME

wraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrr!!. guess what??? I'm a dinosaur so... yeah what are you going to do about it?

Noice!!!!. The bridge of the song is amazing and the vocals on here is at his best since in agt it was raspy and worn because of touring and after Bs he came down with the throats condition and even after it wasn't the same

John <3. Beautiful lyrics , but it's so repetitive!!

Style. John Mayer has a fantastic style. I love this song, i dont care if its repetitive

Echo. Think I was in a mall when I first heard it. I couldn't find what I was looking for. I was frustrated with everything and everyone in my life. I probably bought a ton of stuff anyway. I probably enjoyed it. I probably went back to my room and rearranged all the furniture. I probably wrote about it online after that. And there's a song about that feeling... I'm not alone.

Don't give up hope. Thank you for encouraging me not to give up. I know it's just a song, but sometimes God uses whatever means to grab your attention just when things seem hopeless!

Great song. It is a great song.

Great. So what if this song says the same thing over again. its still a great song, the ochestra and johns voice make for a great song and the extra voice at the end is great. thank you john mayer

So close. Innovative musical opening, excellent lyrics on the verses, repetitive chorus needed far more effort to match usual standards by this quality artist IMO. Nice, close to being great. Love your work, John.

He's Done It Again. John Mayer has yet again produced a magnificent song with melodic music and well-developed lyrics. Just listen to it and you'll fall in love with it!!

Beautiful. True to form, John Mayer has produced another beautifully melodic piece with amazing lyrics. This song will not disappoint you!

Another beautiful song. Typical John Mayer song, just beautiful to listen to. Very relaxing. Love the melody.

Just beautiful. This is an absolute must for any JM fan... absolutely beautiful lyrics... so simple and yet so meaningful. He just keeps getting better.

Inspirational. An absolutely inspirational song. Great guitar and instrumental song

One of JMs best. Everyone should listen to lyrics of this song.

Mayer says what he needs to say. When putting together his film "The Bucket List", director Rob Reiner called upon singer-songwriter John Mayer to write its theme song. He posed the question to Mayer "What would make the top of your bucket list?" Mayer's response in song was that he would take all of his so called problems, put them in quotations and say what he needs to say. This song is very to the point lyrically, lush trebley guitars with Mayer's staple studio drummer Steve Jordan laying down the beat hard and thick. Mayer's melodies ring over the top of a wholly well rounded base, and just soar from there. You won't find this on any of Mayer's albums, so this is your chance to hear what John Mayer had to Say.

He doesn't let down on this one. Such a pretty & simple song.

it's just nice. Simply put....It's just Beautiful. !!!

GREAT. Absolutely great song!!! He has a way of making you hang on every single word.... ahhhh

Another gem from John. Wonderful, inspirational song. Melodically rich and lush. Another gem from John!

Amazing yet again. As he opens with an acoustic riff, we are exposed to something new, yet something that is still typically John Mayer. His lyrics are poignant but still bring a smile to your face. "Say" gives us a glimpse into Mayer's new album, and if this song is anything to go by the album will continue to go above and beyond his previous collections. 5 out of 5.

BEAUTIFUL. John Mayer is a beautiful, beautiful lyricist. Somehow I am connecting so deeply with this song at the moment.

What Can You Say?. Yet another piece of perfection. John Mayer can't put a note wrong!

Perfection. Tears, joy, bliss, harmony, - just the place that everyone aims for - a must have. A play list on its own!
