Great Album. this album is great. Reccomended songs are: Undeniable, Nothing left to lose, where are we gonna go from here, won't back down, and breath on breath out. Is it just me, or is chicago really not on the album, because i bought the CD and it wasn't on there!

(READ ALL PLEASE) Mat Kearney is truly extraordinary....but..... I've heard bits and pieces of Mat Kearney for a while, and I finally gave him a try a week ago or so and I agree with some of the people here, he is extraordinarily talented and is an amazing composer and songwriter. I find myself amazed by all the of the individual layers of his songs, but it seems that he is going waay overboard on his...I guess I'd call it rapping. It has elements in nearly every song and dominates the album. It is a neat idea (the intertwining of rap and song...he does it well), but he takes the great idea and does a great job with it, but it gets really old by the end of the 15 song album...after about 7 or so, then the listener finds themselves wanting much more from Mr. Kearney vocally. I really do enjoy his style and I am very interested in what he's got to show the world in his future albums. As far as advice goes....I'd say listen to the previews and see if one of your friends has a copy you can borrow first. You'll either love it or hate it

Description is not accurate!. I really am annoyed that I purchased this album. The description did not clarify just how much rapping there is on this album. Most of the songs include an awkward rap (or wanna-be rap) and was NOT what I thought I was purchasing. I wish I could return it for a refund or at the very least those specific songs. Bottom line: if you're not a fan of rap then you won't like it. If you are a fan, then you also probably won't like it as it's not a very good attempt at the genre. Very disappointed...

Warning! White Guy Rapping. Five stars if they reissue with none-rap remixes.

On the fence with this record. For the most part, I love the songs that don't involve raping! Matt is a genius song-writer and a huge influence on the way I sing and write songs. There are some real gems on this record, as well as some stinkers.

This totally deserves more than 5 stars!!!. Mat Kearney is an awesome artist and expresses so much meaning in his songs. My personal favorite, Breathe In Breathe Out, is so meaningful and amazing. He's the #1 artist in my playlists!

ditch the rap please!. These poor attempts at rap have ruined some great songs. The rap is so out of place for his kind of music that I can't listen to them without skipping to the next track. Unfortunately, there are only a few songs without it. To each his own, but without the rap this could have been one of my favorite albums in a long time.

M. Many people are saying this album is not his best, but to be perfectly honest, I love it. I am not a big fan of today's popular rap, but I really like Mat's style of rap. There are a couple of songs that are kind of slow and are hard to get into, but other than that it's awesome. My favorite album I've found so far! Great work!

Just Buy It. You will love it.. Mat is one of the best Christian artists out their right now.

Complete Package. I budget $15 a month for iTunes. In combination with Pandora I love finding hidden gems in the vast library that is iTunes. This is the first album I have ever purchased. Before buying I listened to every preview and didn't hear a bad song. I wasn't disappointed after purchasing the entire album. Very real lyrics. Perhaps it's my listening to talk radio is why I've never heard of Kearney, but I'm sold. This album is truly the complete package. Thanks

great album**. Best full length record I have heard in years; worth every dollar. I bought this CD two years ago and it has not left my stereo.

. I've had this album for a while now, and I'd say its pretty good. It's got a few keepers like Nothing Left to Lose, Girl America and In The Middle, but I don't think it's a complete album. I can't stand Bullet, and overall I'd say I was rather disappointed with it. Mat has a fantastic voice and for the most part, a pretty decent sound. I'll have to check out his other releases.

Awesome album. There's a weak track here and there, but overall, the songs in this album are beautiful and worth listening to over and over again. I thought I'd never like any music sung by someone whose voice is so nasal that he always sounds congested, and yet, I love Mat Kearney and his songs. My favorites are "Where We Gonna Go From Here" and "Breathe In Breathe Out."

One of my favorite singers. I first heard Matt song on a short-lived tv series called Kyle XY many years ago. I bought the song because it made me cry. I’ve continued to buy Matt’s music for years. I’m always pleasantly surprised by how beautiful each and every song he does this. I’m a huge fan.

Fantastic. The song All I Need is hands down one of my most favorite songs of all time.

This album......holy cow. First of all, I fell in love with Mat Kearney after listening to Ships in the Night, but the honesty and thoughtfulness of this guy's earlier music is just so freakin awesome. All the lyrics like "these scars upon my sleeve" from In the Middle, being used to describe a broken heart are just so carefully crafted. Truly one of my all time favorite albums.

pasty white boy rapper wannabe. I heard a song on pandora radio and enjoyed it so read the reviews here on itunes. I bought the album without having been smart enough to preview every song. Guy has talent but then he breaks into a rap. WTH? Listed as rock not rap. If you like pasty rappers this is right up your alley. Personally, I hate rap! Kept a few songs and had to delete the rest.

Krazy 4 Kearney!. But seriously, I remember when I first heard this song in 2007 it still resinates with me today. It's still my song.

Underrated!. Mat is so underrated!!

Love Mat's stuff. I love everything Mat writes/sings. He's a lyrical genius. I've been listening to him since 2004 or so, and I really like his early stuff (some of which is included on this album). The older stuff (Girl America, Bullet, a few others) are spoken word (not rap, as others, who didn't like it, posted); it's a very smooth almost rap style that's wonderful to listen to. I can't say enough good about this artist or this album.

Awesome!. Interesting fusion of styles. Not sure many artists could get away with this, but Mat does a great job. If you already like his music you're going to enjoy this album, and to those of you who aren't sure, you'll enjoy this pretty innovative and interesting album (and I mean that in a good way).

Nothing Left To Lose.. I am going to finish this review at another time but I need to put my thoughts out there now. This is an incredible album. I don't like rap usually but the few songs that have that, are so powerful. They talk about topics that we are otherwise scared to discuss but we shouldn't be. His voice is beautiful and really sends all his messages across. It makes me feel empowered and like we can all work through the problems of the world. I think it is an amazing album and he really deserves to be more famous than he is. This is incredible music and I think everyone should give him a real chance to show how talented he is.

Got the skillz, but also the attitude. Caught him opening for Keane (which was amazing!!) - and Mat has a great voice (bad style - and an ego to with it) - I disagree w/ others about his "down-to-earth" - or "guy next door" feel. I felt quite the opposite.

sounds like Counting Crows. All I can say is that I could have sworn that Nothing Left to Lose was Counting Crows. Heard it on the radio soooo many times. Hmph. Good song.
