YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY IT. Listen I am a fan and if you are and enjoy the music and appreciate the talent, you wouldn't complain. Personally I love the throwbacks and what ITunes Essential has put together is great. Put up or Shut up. KSG BELLAIRE, OHIO MY HOMETOWN
Live Bruce. If there's ever a live album every person should listen to, this one is the one. Nothing captured Bruce's live shows better than this. Other than the three shows at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ in September of '78...
The Most Over-rated No Talent Ever. Basura.
Besst of the Best of. I have this on vinyl. Complete with liner notes and booklet. Greatest Greatest Hits Album since the Beatles Blue and Stones Hot Rocks Vol 1. The Best Bruce Albums are Born To Run The River Darkness Greetings Born in the USA This album is the best of the best done live.
Growing up. My parents bought me this album Christmas '87 on cassette, the first album of music I ever owned. I preceeded to play the tapes till they broke, including a car trip from NY to Houston and back. I only wish this offering had a pdf of the book included in the original album with all the lyrics and photos.
From cassettes to mp3, love this one. I purchased the box set of cassettes in 1986-87. Still have the original cassettes in the box (no, not unopened). In my youth, there were plenty of musicians that provided plenty of songs that meant a whole lot to me for all sorts of reasons. Plenty of Bruce Springsteen’s songs were familiar, like Hungry Heart, Born to Run, Thunder Road, then his Born in the USA album exploded, and so did my interest in his career. I rolled back into his classic stuff from ten years prior. Jungleland, Rosalita, Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, Saint in the City, and on and on. Lively, quick-paced, offering a risky scene at the same time they told a story of determination of some sort. Freedom. His earlier work, Born to Run and previous, is his best stuff. It’s very much represented in this awesome live collection. This collection demonstrates his roots in Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan and his inspiration to all kinds of musicians who came after him. A great stage show, and an amazing rock portfolio.
Incredible!. When this box set was released way back when, it was an eagerly awaited and highly celebrated release. It sold millions and held down the number one spot on the Billboard charts for weeks. Quite an accomplishment fir any artist and album, let alone a 5 LP box set. Now, a lifetime later, returning to this package is nearly as overwhelming as in its heyday. Track after track, hour after hour of well executed and recorded live cuts makes for a true masterpiece. Next to "Kick Out The Jams", this is my second favorite live release ever. Incredible "A+"
Question. LOVED this set growing up. I'm from Jersey, so Bruce cassettes were issued to the burbs like Tide samples. But I can't remember-is The River on here the one where he goes into a long story about being drafted & then turned down?
Great deal. Heard Jersey Girl on the radio today, which is one of my favorites. I immediately looked for that song but instead found this awesome album with 40 songs on it. It's only $1.99 just for this song but decided to buy the whole albumin for $19.99. What a deal!! I have read other reviews but don't understand why the amount of the album is so different from mine also I found this album by putting in the songs name along with his name. It did not come up under Woody. Anyway love a great deal. Sorry other people are having problems.
Surprise. Never heard this before until hearing it on the radio. Liked it, bought it and will listen to it frequently.
bruce springsteedn and the estreet band live 1975. have nothing but trouble with this album songs did not download properly and downloaded with wrong titles
????. great album but why is it under Woody Guthrie ?
Looked Around Forever For This!!!. I own this album on vinyl. It's near flawless. I could never find it on CD. I just got an old turntable of mine working and was listening to it. Now I've finally found a digital version that doesn't have any of the surface noises on it. Love it.
re: ?????. Track 22 is as beautiful a version of "This Land Is Your Land" as I've ever heard, but yeah . . . why this track shows up under Woody is a real noodler scratcher. It would be great if covers of Woody's songs showed up in one place though.
Great set but expensive.... And I only say that because you can buy the same album for about $5 less and cooler album art.
Never gets old. My dad has this album on vinyl and would play it from time to time when I was younger. I bought this album on CD a couple years back after I saw Springsteen live. There is no comparison to his live performances. His studio work speaks for itself, but if you have yet to experience the Boss live; either go see a show soon or purchase this album. I listen to a song or two from this collection everytime I turn on my Ipod, and it never gets old.
Jersey Girl. The interesting thing about this set is that it was THE first cd boxed set ever made. It was all about "Jersey Girl" at the time. A great song written by Tom Waits. Legend has it that it was written as a parody by Tom poking fun at how predictable Springsteen lyrics were. Who knows. Either way, Bruce made it his!
Stealing the River. This version of The River is probably Bruce's most moving piece. Of course, iTunes knows that and takes advantage of the situation. I have this set in hard copy on cd, but lost the one with The River on it. Why do I have to spend $35 for ONE SONG? If you want people want us to buy the whole album, fine. But at least sell these three albums seperately. I'll just get spend the $5 and get it on EBay I guess. Good work guys.
Used to have this on vinyl. I spent many a night going to sleep to this when I was a kid. Saw Bruce when I was 8 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on the Born in the USA tour. Took my daughter when she was 8 and we met him. This remains the best live Bruce Collection ever. No longer 8. I'm heading to 40 and Bruce still speaks to me. Seeds is still amazingly great years later
.... One word: EPIC!
Down the Shore..... I grew up listening to this album. LOVE IT!!
LOVE ITTTT. i love this album but did anyone else notice that track "I'm On Fire" is really the song "Fire" ??? I just caught that! I'm On Fire is a totally different song
The BOSS. You can listen to anything that Bruce sings; whether it be a recorded version, demo version, live version, singing out of a garbage can, it'll be AMAZING! Yet, I prefer to listen to his live versions! There's just something that is truly magical about his voice when he performs a song live... There'll never be another like him! Never! I love Elvis, but Bruce is not only "The Boss," but he's also "The King" in my opinion! ❤️ I've had the pleasure to see this LEGEND live, and I was just in complete awe the entire (over three hours) time! It was three hours of pure joy and being blown away by this great man that I've idolized, loved, listened to ever since I can remember! I'm so BLESSED that my dad passed his love of Bruce on to my brother and myself! God Bless you BRUCE, (also, to The E Street Band) as you have, and are continuing to bless us after all these years! 🙏🏼❤️
Missing speech. I bought this on iTunes after giving up on my old cassette copy. The intro and speech before War is not on the iTunes version. "If you grew up in the 60's, you grew up with war on TV every night..... Blind faith in your leaders or in anything will get you killed." Guess that is politically incorrect these days. Other than that, this is a great collection that I will continue to enjoy for the rest of my life.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Live. This is an astonishing album, packed with gems, some well known, others bringing memories of an extraordinary talent, supported by the tightest band around. Don't you dare accept poor imitations, or if you do, know that they should raise their game just to get close to the best there is. Listen to his lyrics, not just the great music, really does justice to a great rock and roller.
No better live album ever released....by anyone. Amazing piece of work, capturing Bruce & the band at their greatest. Worth the price alone for the story at the beginning of The River. Buy it, be enthralled.
