My absolute favorite Beyoncé album!!. Not that Beyoncé wasn’t almost just as recognizable as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, but no lie, this album made her who she is! Hard to believe it was way back in 1998 when a 17-year-old Beyoncé Knowles released her very first album with Destiny’s Child, and only five years later when she released her solo debut. When Beyoncé first emerged as a solo artist, there was a lot of question about whether she would be able to maintain her stature in the music industry. Notwithstanding, more than a decade later, she is one of the biggest hip-hop/R&B divas on the planet, and she’s pretty much in a class by herself in terms of the global recognition she’s gained through the years. The sultry R&B jam “Crazy In Love” had dramatically changed Beyoncé’s whole career, and had even begun to cross over onto the pop charts almost instantly, as did her next few albums, Bday, I Am Sasha Fierce and 4. Nevertheless, this album really showcases Ms. Knowles’s soulful style and personality, as well as her powerful and multifaceted gem of a voice. Keep going Queen Bey! We love you!!
