This is very nostalgic. I remember dancing to “Heartbreaker” with my cousins when I was 4 years old. That song played a lot at family parties for me. It was very fun to dance and all of a sudden slip to a great song! Good ole days!!!

by far her best. i rank rainbow her best, butterfly second, and daydream third. this album is so personal, it gave a glimpse into her life at the time. every track is amazing. every track stands out. this collection of songs truly is a rainbow, every song has a different sound. but every song works so well together to create this amazingly personal, beautiful, emotional album that is the best album of her career imo. seriously buy the whole album... you wont regret it.

Rainbow. This album is a pretty good mixture of Hip-Hop and Pop. Album takes a couple of listens to actually get into it but I’d have to say it was a great way to end her 90s era. Wish more of the singles from here bigger hits but it did pretty well promotion wise.

Childhood memories. Me and my family loved this freaking album. She was sooo lost and emotional on this album.

Heartbreaker & Thank God I Found You Changed The World. Those two songs were turly mginificent. Their my favorite songs .. EVER. This ialbum is so worth all your money. Some hot tracks are: Heartbreaker, Thank God I found You, Cant Take That Away, After tonight, Against all odds, and How much

A GREAT ALBUM!. I still remember when I was in the desert when this album came out. It is still one of my favorite album. Nice beats, that you can listen to whereever. She never dissipoints!!

12 years later.... And I still love it!

What do you think?. I strongly believe the beginning of After Tonight was influenced somehow by "Un-break My Heart". Definitely.

Mimi at her best!. This album is purely amazing! It's very underrated and I have no idea why. Bliss, heartbreaker, can't take that away, crybaby! The hits don't stop!

after every storm, a rainbow eventually appears.... Wow, mariah. Just amazing, as always. In my opinion mariah carey is the best singer EVER and this album does not dissapoint. Every song is great. She is amazing. Wow wow wow. GO MC!!!

Mixed bag. I got this as a gift the year it came out because my parents knew I liked Mariah Carey. I loved her hit "Heartbreaker" a lot when it came out and I was hoping this album would be good. Well there are a few highlights but it is not a solid album. It is not Mariah's best album. It is good, don't get me wrong. Just not classic like "Emotions" or "Butterfly" or "Emancipation of Mimi." The highlights are "Thank God I Found You", "X-Girlfriend", "How Much" (featuring Usher) and the remake of Phil Collins's "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)." I actually think the remake is better than the original, which could be because of Carey's powerful voice at the conclusion of the song. "Rainbow" was a nice surprise for me the year it was released but compared to Mariah's slew of albums that are better it is just mediocore.

Her worst besides 'Charmbracelet'. This album was so rushed. She did it in like, 3 months? the only good songs are 'Heartbreaker', 'Bliss', and 'Thank God I Found You'. the Ok songs are 'Crybaby', 'Cant Take That Away', 'Petals', 'How Much', 'After Tonight'-could have been so much better. and 'Against All Odds' is ok. 'Did I do That' is just dumb and a waste. She cut ties with Walter Afanasieff who colloborated with her on most of all her songs(Hero, Love Takes Time, Butterfly, Anytime You Need a freind etc.) up until 'Butterfly' album. He produced beautiful songs, and you can hear that quality lacking in all her albums after she stopped working with him. She also should have worked with Puffy and Trackmasters again, Maybe even Timbaland. Instead all these songs sound basic and not that good. Her vocals mostly sound half-a$$ed, like rough demo cuts, that had to be finished and improved later.

I love this!. This cd is so mellow and smooth. Nice car ride music or for just relaxing at home. I love it!!!

rainbow. i love this album its has great songs

Vocally flawless. Mariah Carey’s vocal on this album truly make it a standout album. Bliss is phenomenal, X-girlfriend is stuck in my head, and Mariah’s theme truly make this album perfect. Shout out to heartbreaker remix too.

The Decline. Unfortunately, this is Mariah's worst album of the 90's. Very mainstream and uncreative in my opinion. The only standout rack was "Heartbreaker" which was actually a very good pop song. Otherwise the album is very forgetful. The overt sexuality is painfully obviously and unnecessary.

Yep. I would drink her bath water. Holla.

Rainbow. Love this one with a more pop and heartbreaker is one of my fav songs ever

Rainbow. This is another Mariah Carey album that was simply not appealing. She leaned into more themes that her past audiences didn't fit into. "Heartbreaker" is a great song from the album, but is extremely identical to "Fantasy" from her album Daydream, which makes it repetitive. Another good song is the sexual "Bliss" which includes a lot of her whistle register to express an extreme feeling of happiness. This album was rushed mainly due to her contract with Sony expiring and the tension she had with the producers there. This would be the last Mariah Carey album that was successful until her 2005 release with The Emancipation of Mimi.

Wow. This album was greatly overlooked, and for NO GOOD REASON. This cd has some of her most amazing vocals AND ballads, and it's a shame this album went unnoticed. Every song shows her amazing beauty and talent, and it deserves a place on everyone's shelf.

Best of her catalog!!. Rainbow was such a perfect album... I support all of Mariah's work. This is in my top 5 favorites records!!! Greatness with Heartbreaker, Can't Take That Away, Bliss, Thank God I Found You ad Crybaby!!!

🌈. Pure bliss...

A very suiting title. Rainbow says what it is: songs from many different genres coming together in harmony. Heartbreaker is irresistable and memorable. Can't Take That Away is a very uplifting and beautiful song. The same goes for Thank God I Found You. Her vocals are great (as always), but they have some more flare in this album.

Great. This is a great album. Lots of fast songs and slow songs on here. Love the song with Usher. The song "Bliss" is really sexy, her voice is so sexy but still powerful. I like to see the more sexy side of Mariah!

rainbow is fantastic. this album has my favorite Mariah Carey song ever, Petals. the best song on the album and the best song of her career. the lyrics are so personal and beautiful that it tells an AMAZING story. i will always love Mariah and her unbelievable voice and songs.

rainbow. this is a very personal an powerful album mariah ended the 90's on a high note heartbreak, cant take that away, bliss, and petals are my favorites. petals is so moving yet touching

I love this voice! (her 90's songs) My only problem is the lack of clothes.. Gosh Mariah's voice was so beautiful in the songs she performed in the 90's that it pretty much trumps over her lack of clothes which is indeed inappropriate especially at what 38? My all time favorite songs by Mariah Carey are Heartbreaker, Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together, Make It Through the Rain, and Shake It Off. Her new album shows absolutely nothing except the expression of her so called love for Nick Cannon. : P How long ya think that is going to last? : / ~90'sMusicLover~

Love It !. her old songs are wayyyy better 😏

did yall know. she sounds the same live its awesome!

Mariah for ever.. This album is amazing. Favorite tracks are of course heartbreaker, heartbreaker remix... if you like that song you like the real Mariah. It fits so perfectly with the song it samples. Also can't take that away. Even enjoy the rare remixes of that song.

Underrated. I love rainbow way more then the others it's more personal then Daydream. And it's like her breaking free point in time. Crybaby is that hip hop and heartbreaker and thank god I found you went #1 but petals and can't take that away are the personal touches and I feel like Daydream can't reach this level of personal because every era is different. I love Daydream but rainbow will always be in my heart.

Better than the other one ☝️. Not being mean but DIS REMIX IS COOLAY

This album is AMAZING!. Absolutely superb! This has got to be one of Mariah's best albums to date along with Music Box and the rest of her albums! And the song "Petals" beautiful song, beautiful lyrics! I mean, how the hell does she create such divine music? I'm left speechless everytime, even though I've listened to her music forever! Ain't nobody toppin' this woman! She is a TRUE artist!

Disappointment. Certainly a fall from grace for the greatest singer from the decade, Rainbow has its moments of sheer pop but it lacks any cohesion and is all over the place lyrically and musically. It also doesn't help that she has too many collaborators on here. She does best with Jay-Z and Usher, but otherwise this is a very big fall from grace for such an amazing talent. Sad!

Love it!. This is my absolute FAVORITE Mariah Carey album! (: Heartbreaker is my faaaavorite song off of the album. ;D

This is my favorite Mariah Carey album. ❤️

Pretty good(;. This album was honestly not her best, it was no where close to a bad album but she has had better. I love her songs heartbreaker, against all odds, ex gfriend, can't take that away and thank god I found u!

Not bad. My favorite song is Crybaby. I also love the remix of Heartbreaker

"Bliss". "Bliss"is still today my all time favorite. This is still yet the blue print to, the sza’s , jhenko chick.Come on.... In 99” T-Pain sounds as if, he would pop up any moment on this track.

Queen Mariah!!!. Great album !!! So different from her others

Please stop with the rappers. This album would be a classic if it did not feature the song Did I Do That... That song is quite unfortunate. Thank God I Found You is a good song but a blatant attempt to re-make One Sweet Day (and with a boy band??). Other than that, this album is truly amazing. Heartbreaker is one of my favorite Mariah songs. It is almost funny how Mariah can remake a song and completely and utterly put the original to shame. One listen to Against All Odds and I think you will be hard pressed to argue that statement. I am a big fan of R&B and like I said, this would be a classic if Master P (where is he now?? Selling shoes somewhere?) were not on this album. Love Mariah. We need more Mariah less rappers.

Not her best....😩. 😕2stars cause I love you❤️

A disaster!. Rainbow by Mariah Carey was her first of many stinker albums. I was not a fan of Butterfly but that album was miles better than Rainbow! From 1990-1997, Mariah was a perfect artist to me, she could do no wrong but Rainbow left me taken aback. The only good song on here is Petals, now that song is powerful! Ditch this album, it's lame like the album cover.

OMG!!!. This is a great album-she did it again.

Yikes. This is god awful.

Impressive & talented, but not good.. The girl can obviously sing. She's always had some serious pipes. In terms of God-given vocal talent, there's really just her and Xtina in a class by themselves. And I remember being mildly into her hits from Daydream when I was a teenager, but that's as far as my interest in Mariah Carey has gone. It has been nothing but shallow R&B drek after Daydream. This album might feature impressive vocals that can shatter glass (with her trademark note that she can hit) and yards of talent which is neat, but it's still not "good" singing. The lyrics she sings are empty, soulless and trite. And i've always hated the the dramatic style of singing that most female R&B artists use. Most of the time she's just stretching out her words to elongated "eeoooooouuuu's." That doesn't equate to better singing - it's just boring and histrionic. Most songs on here remind me of Seal's "Kiss from a Rose" - eh. There are no catchy or pop-sensible standout hits on here like there were on Daydream. It's sad when the best song on your album is a simple reworking of an old hit and your second best tune is a poorly-done cover song. Terrible stats on this album. It's VERY rare to delete EVERY song on an album. It's only happened maybe 5 or 6 times out of thousands of albums. But that's the case here. All throwaways.

DO NOT BUY! Mariah isnt great here.. album is way too slow. Maraih seems to have bad technique and looses her voice in some songs. Coudn't they have edited this before releasing the album?

It's alright no Daydream. It's certianly not a big rainbow she sounds like she trying to hard to appeal to a different audience which I don't find creative. But the album went 3x Platinum so it was still a good album regardless but this was her downfall.

A classic pop album. Apparently this whole album was wrote within 3-4 months because Mariah wanted to get off the label and finish this album. The rushed effort isn't noticeable as the album is very well done. Mariah has so many classic albums like daydream, butterfly and Emancipation that I think the general public forgets that she has several other albums like this one that are also amazing. I love crybaby - I love all of it. I think there are only a couple songs that are iffish but like every one of mariahs albums, she could have made five more singles on this easy. Why was after tonight never released as a single?

Very Moving. Beautiful, Inspiring, Overwhelming, Irresitable, that are just some words about this album, it is a album your dont want to go without, it has the feelings of freedom, strength, pride, anger, all in one. This is one of her best along side "Charmbracelet' , "Butterfly" , and "E.O.Mimi" This woman can belt it out, and the lyrics she write is enough right there to make you be stunned. Good Job 5 stars!! Songs I Suggest: Cant Take That Away, After Tonight, Against All Odds, Crybaby, Petals, Rainbow, Thank God I Found You...
