Blue Banisters. Wow. COTCC made me weary that she was just making background music but Blue Banisters brought me back to Earth. Arcadia, Dealer, If You Lie Down With Me (to name a few) really speak out about her noir story telling & vintage stacked production. Every album she’s done is spectacular. I mean every single one. The way she graces a simple folk beat with her voice & laces classical instruments throughout the background (listen to Terrance Loves You if you like that she does that too) just always brings me to a good calm mood. Different that the others. I really don't undersatand where some of you are coming from. This is finally the evolution I've been waiting for from her. Really good and meaningful.

You roll like Thunder. This is another beautiful album by the prolific Lana Del Rey. Mostly composed of personal ballads along with previously unreleased tracks, which gives the album a taste of all of her eras over this past decade. The album also puts her critics on blast. The highlights: Thunder spoke to me immediately, Dealer makes you want to be angry, Black Bathing Suit brings you back to quarantine life. All in all a solid project by a talented artist.

I don't know why has to be so sad. It brings everybody down, when I play her music. About 4 songs are really good. She didn't used to like this early in her career.... Also I feel, when you are asking me - her words, lyrics, have nothing to say. I think when this (understandably) happens, the artist should take a break - but I know the music world nowadays doesn't work like this. A great fan of her lovely singing voice - not fan of her whispering, shrieking or even talking - which she does, more the later then the former 🙁 Love her first two albums. Enjoy! 🙂🥂

Loving this new direction. I’ve been loving Lana’s recent music. As compared to her other albums, which I absolutely love, this album shows so much more growth and is more honest. Beautiful, Violets for Roses, and Sweet Carolina are absolutely outstanding.

Y’all Are Dumb. Stop bashing her album that consists of past works. Like seriously it makes perfect sense for some of her songs to sound similar to her last bodies of art. If you don’t like it then you can go listen to some other artist. Love you Lana 💖

Love it more than NFR. This album needs time to grow in you. First listen I didn’t like it. Slowly start to like this album from cherry blossom to blue banisters to living legend. Now my fav song is blue banisters.

Astonishing. I would give this record a 4/5 . Lana conjures another glamorous record that nurtures her true feelings toward the media and her personal struggles. Lana created these tracks from the heart and mind. Creating what she calls “Blue Banisters”. The track list is absolutely beautiful, but a interesting take on reviving her older songs (Nectar of the Gods, Cherry Blossom and Living Legend). Which rather takes away the originality in this new record, but I can not complain, as I love the tracks. Her stride for redemption, clarity, cleverness and obstinate is deeply forged with her signature voice in each track. Telling her story that gives us a deeper understanding of herself and her mind. Blue Banisters sets a new era for Lana, as she experiments new style and sound (Dealer and Black Bathing Suit) but keeping her unique tone (Arcadia, Text Book, and Beautiful) Lana is one of the few artists that knows how to express feelings in the unique way. Blue Banisters is album of the year for me.

Thunder. Thunder for me is one of the best songs she’s done in a long time, but then my understanding is that it’s from old album cuts. The whole album is a treat though, and considering half of COCC I didn’t like, this feels like it’s back to Lana’s pure roots of cinematographic, raw, vulnerable Lana at her finest. I also love the bridge of Living Legend where upon first hear it sounds like an electric guitar when it is, in fact, her!

not the best. Loved most of Lana's work, but this is not for me I'm afraid. At times it feels too much like a spoken word album with tracks that almost have no melody. Lana release your early unreleased stuff because it's infinitely better than this.

Help!. I am a total, and utter, Lana fan. I listen to her music every singly day. Her body of work is, for me, era defining - and easily makes her the artist of her generation. Gods and Monster is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. There are no skips for me in her entire back catalogue (except perhaps Blue Velvet - for some reason). When Blue Banisters (single) dropped I was captivated by its delicacy. I was totally blown away by Arcadia. The vocal run …like arteries straight to the heart of me…. probably to the most genuinely beautiful song of her career. The video, and trio, had me breathless for the new album. HOWEVER, on first listen, a few tracks into the new material, Black Bathing Suit onwards, I had to stop! I had a totally unexpected experience - I was hating it. Thinking I was in the wrong mood or something, I decided to listen again later. On trying again I found myself hating it even more intensely. Shrieky, really jarring on the ear, uncharacteristically naff lyrics - and totally incoherent production. I listened more, read reviews, watched reaction videos - so know I am in a minority, but I just can’t listen to it. It is as if Lana has made her own Solar Power. In my own internal ranking, and re-ranking, of her albums, each genuinely takes a turn in the top spot. Blue Banisters sits at the bottom, and by a mile - and will probably stay there. Can someone help me understand what it is I am missing? Will I ever get this album? I am sort of in a state of shock - and feel bereft. Any advice would be genuinely appreciated. I do so want to love it - but surely it shouldn’t be so hard? particularly when everything else she has ever recorded is so utterly sublime.
