I’ll Always Love This Band. The Lumineers were my favorite band in high school, and I hold all of their albums close to my heart. But now that they’ve lost members, it’s really starting to take a toll on their newer music. That familiar charm and spirit that made their music stand out for so many years is starting to fade with each new song. However, I have so much respect for this band, and I cannot wait to hear the new album so I can be proved wrong!

Where are my Lumineers. The ones I fell in love with?! Come back, please. Your vibe is so different and the electric guitar changes the tone so much. I know everything evolves but I miss the acoustic, foot stomping songs from your first two+ albums.

Never disappointed. Have been listening to the Lumineers for years and am yet to be disappointed. The talent gives me chills.

Perfection💫. each song is just written so beautifully.

I truly wish I liked it more.. With the exception of the title track, the songs here all blur together and are largely forgettable. Not a single toe-tapper on the short (only 9 tracks) album. I truly wish I liked this album more, because I love this band.

There is better folk and indie music out there than this. I never got into this band. An ex girlfriend recommended them, and they never quite added anything original to me. This is my main complaint about this album, too: it sounds completely hackneyed. I listened to lyrics from samples of the first three tracks. Those words are boring, or cliché, or unreflective. When writing music is your job and you have years between your tour and last album to forge something that matters, you have to meet certain expectations. You have to share with your listeners something real, personal, or special. And what I listened to had pretty much none of that. Trite. Forgettable. The instrumentality is lacking too, in that an old upright piano and some twangy guitars or a banjo won’t make you sound “folk” or “indie” if you’ve got nothing special to croon about. Producing music is hard these days. But the bands that should be frontline stage ought to be the ones adding new content and refreshing lyrics. You can’t toss in some stereotypical old sounds and mix in banal lyrics and hope to pass muster. There’s a lot better bands out there in this genre, and MUCH more interesting albums than this.

Hmmm. I want to say they’re back to where they were, but I’m still left longing for what were the first two “albums” and killer live sets at Red Rocks and Roundhouse.

Disappointing. Big let down from excellent track record of great, emotion-packed tracks and albums.

Snooze fest. Yes, bands evolve. And the Lumineers have evolved from a fun cheerful good time to a very boring and depressing band.

They lost their charm. As there precious albums has a spark ans charm to them, this one does not come across that way

Ending up like the Cold War Kids are???. Something was missing on the last album that came out. It didn’t sound anywhere close to being on par with their first two albums. It’s as if that last album had no soul in it. One song was decent and then the rest were blah. Either they’ve given up on trying to make decent songs or they’re selling out like all of the other crappy bands. If you need an idea of one think about the Cold War Kids.

Starbucks music. While it’s not bad, nothing really stands out. Either they peaked in their second album, or this one is serving as a snapshot in the middle of an evolving sound that hasn’t been matured yet.

Kind of a letdown. Pretty bland album compared to their prior 3 albums. This one has few to no songs with a catchy beat or personal lyrics. They actually sound quite sleepy. Their violinist can't hold a candle to the departed celloist, Neyla. She was a great addition, but whatever the reason, she's gone. Miss that smiley face on the videos. I actually can't make up my mind to go to their upcoming shows. Ticket sales appear to be slow, as normally tix for their tour dates are sold out already. Looks like Brightside is showing a dark side to summer concert goers.

A solid album from start to finish. Love this band and was supper excited for this album To many albums leave me unexcited after one or two songs I have to say I really enjoyed all the songs. Big shot is one of my favorites This group has great vocals and are true musicians just saw them on Jimmy Fallon this past week any they sounded great. Really hope I can see them live this year. Take a minute to listen to the full album worth your time!!! Great job!!

No complexity. So disappointed with this album and I bought tickets for the Brightside tour so hopefully they don't play only one here disappointments.

Why?. Why do these bands have a sound that is amazing and sells albums but then decide to “reinvent” themselves? I hope the other songs on the album are more like they usually sound. I LOVE their acoustic sound. Not a fan of this electric guitars thing they are trying. I still like his voice though.

So much fun!. Absolutely love this album! It’s so much fun! Love the light hearted catchy songs! Perfect Summer soundtrack! Just saw them last night and was such a fun show! Loved the new tracks even more live!

They’re back!. The electric guitar brings a different sound but Schultz’s voice is still perfect so it doesn’t feel like it’s big difference in their style of music….at least to me 🤷.

So excited!!. I only had to hear a five seconds of Brightside to know I’m going to love the new album.
