RIP Coldplay. They're a long way from "Parachutes" on this album, that's for sure. And not in a good way. They had a good run there for about 20 years, so they deserve some credit for making it to the top of the A-list of rock bands. But a few wrong turns down the slippery slope of fame later, you wind up crashing into this outhouse of an album.

Amazing. Some of your best songs yet!

Better. I think this album is the best they’ve done since Mylo Xyloto, but they’re still a shadow of their former selves. The music seems to be happier and have more direction, which is a plus. Bands always evolve, and evolutions they’ve made in the past have been great. But while they seem to be on a better path this time, they’re still not making great music like they used to. Hopeful for the next one.

THE BOXER REBELLION. The Boxer Rebellion is the best rock band, hands down! This album was released October 15th and in one month, November 15th, it’s already reduced to $4.99– should tell you everything you need to know. LONG LIVE THE BOXER REBELLION!!!!! BEST BAND EVER!!!!!

What Happened. No idea what the goal was here. Bland. Uninspired.

This is the first Coldplay Album. The first Coldplay album I actually bothered to download. I never liked anything else they did but this is great!

Absolutely BIUTYFUL!. Brilliant!!!!

All these reviews are discriminating. It's a good album, it's not super shiny, but it's a good album.

Live. Never really been a hard Coldplay fan but for sure always appreciated their talent and spirit. Went to a concert for this tour as an “ok sure I’ll go with you” venture and was simply blown away. Wow. I’ve been to a lot of live shows. Some big acts. Not into pop fluff so much. But. These guys are super talented and their energy is positive and fantastic in person. They are way - way - more than their radio play and pop culture association - my previous understanding of them - gives them credit for. During the concert I realized they are channeling some of the best inspiration other greats have been giving on for thousands of years. The pop sheen is just that… bubblegum. But under it all there is genuine genius vibe to their craft.

Another crap album. Chris Martin continues making this crap music with overblown production. The music has no balls whatsoever, complete garbage.

Yup, that was a trip to space alright. (2/5). Strong start, rough landing. This album, strangely and sadly, reminds me a lot of Kilroy Was Here by STYX. Both albums had futuristic music concepts and both had songs that had very loose narratives. The only difference is that Coldplay is a much more better band because of what they made in their 2000s catalog and with a couple of hits from their 2010’s catalog. Overall, if you have never listen to Coldplay don’t start with this. This album (to put it lightly) is mediocre at best. That being said, I do have some favorite songs from this album: -🪐 - higher power - my universe - coloratura - Biutyful

Major disappointment!. Frustrated big time with this album, Coldplay!!! 😠 I absolutely love Higher Power and My Universe, so I was expecting and hoping for an album of smash pop records like this! No. The rest of it is quick interludes, mellow slow songs, weird high pitched vocals, and one obnoxiously long and boring 10 minute song. Why??? This was supposed to be your big pop record with Max Martin. I was expecting more songs like the first two singles, and I don’t hear anything else like those. It’s messed up to me, it’s like bait and switch…

Would give it a Zero if I could….. This album is just bad. They have totally lost their groove. Instead of being a rock band with innovation and creativity, they are completely sold out to weak mainstream pop. Definitely listen to this album first before buying — Glad I did.

Coloratura is…. Coloratura is the song that Bill & Ted tried to write to unite the world and bring about peace and harmony. Absolute perfection and beyond amazing that they could come up with that so far in their career. It’s what I think Heaven sounds like, when you arrive…

Great, just different for Coldplay. I think this is a great, well paced and structured album with a very good concept. The sound of electronic and pop elements fit the concept! Coldplay is a brilliant band. If you don’t like this album, I’m sure they’ll change it up on the next one. I love the diversity in their work and the different sounding albums.

Amazing. Not Coldplays best work, but it shows a piece of their artistic abilities. I’m not a huge pop fan but I find myself liking my universe and higher power. Coloratura is a great closing track. Taking you through several thoughtful stages. Great work!

Coldplay is such a joke!. Is it just me or does Coldplay's music just get worst and worst. What happened to them their music used to be so good! They just went down the drain.

No surprises. The creativity and pure love for music is on display yet again with another Coldplay album for the ages. Great collaborations with other artists and some unique sounds and colors.

A Once Great Band Fails to Deliver. Have you read the lyrics to “My Universe”? “You, you are my universe. And I just want to put you first. And you, you are my universe, and I…” You get the idea. This is a bad album filled with super, saccharine sweet pop music that sounds nothing like the music they used to create in their first four albums. “Higher Power” is just bad. “Biutyful” may be one of the worst, annoying ear worms of all time with the synthesized voice whining throughout. The one saving grace of the album is Coloratura. It sounds more like the Coldplay of old. (It gets one star because this one song saved it from zero stars.) But unfortunately, it cannot overcome the pop-tsunami misery of this album.

Calling it in.. Lyrics are predictable. Not a lot of work or passion put into it. cheaply manipulated voices. sigh. And that last album with the african music. uh boy. You ever think Coldplay is basically turning into Aldous Snow?

Lvoe!. I love it - the confidence to spread your wings and do something truly creative. For those that want things to stay the same - things change. You decide how to face the change. I was late to the game, and started listening to Coldplay after they were quite popular. Since I found them I have listened to them on airplanes, in forests, on mountains in canyons and in the urban jungle. There music adds colour to the experience, something existential. Thank you!

Coloratura is AMAZING!. Listen up fellow Coldplay fans. I totally understand your frustration with the pop collaborations. But do yourself a big favor and listen to the last song on the soundtrack, Coloratura. This one epic 10 minute song will make you change your mind about this album. It’s vintage Coldplay and one of their top songs of all time.

Love it!. Wow this is a great upbeat album. Leaves you in a good upbeat mood! If you’re looking for something dark and depressing you won’t find it in this album.

New but familiar. At first, I did not like the first two releases, Higher Power and My Universe, but once the entire album dropped, it reminds me more of their older stuff. The dancy type singles seem to be forced into the concept album. Listen to the rest and you have a fine Coldplay album. .

Trash. The best part is the chorus of My Universe. It is not even that good.

Beautiful Music. Of course i read the reviews before buying this album. A lot of the reviews had something negative to say about the album or the band. I don't think the actual music in the album or the band themselves are appreciated enough this time around for the work they put into all of their music. Not only am i listener of music, I also study and write music. I give this album a 5star for its beauty and unique styles of music and the hard work behind it.

Some good songs with filler.. There is only 7 real songs on this album. The other 5 tracks are filler. $7 would be a better price for this.

This sucks. The reward of pre-ordering, I can’t have all the tracks downloaded into a single album. Instead, it’s like I have 3 albums to go through. Why can’t iTunes download the song into the album? Who cares, this one sucks anyway.

Disappointing!!. Universe was the only good song on this album the rest can go straight to the garbage! How can this even be a full length album it has a few full songs than just sim 30 second garbage filler.

Not bad but could be wayyyy better. There is 4-5 very beautiful tracks on this album, Coloratura, People of the pride my Universe & higher power being stand outs, i do think this album is way better than « Everyday Life » so its not their worst album that they’ve done, it would be stupid to give this album a 1 star and to call it trash, but its also nowhere near their best work, this would’ve been a very good EP if some songs were cut off, Coldplay definitely need to take a bit of a break and reflect on what made them amazing, there are definitely glimpses of amazing in here like coloratura and ppl of the pride being the best songs Coldplay have done in a while but still loads of room for improvement

SELENAAAAAAAAAA. Period

Pick up a guitar, Chris. Sadly this is by far their most underwhelming album. There is 1 great song (higher power) and 2 or 3 other pretty good songs…5 filler tracks. The album is just way over produced, they need to go back to basics and pick up a guitar and piano and fire all the producers that add a million layers to everything. Just play instruments and sing songs. You can hear some of the greatness here and there on this album but it’s quickly drowned out by computer “perfection”. A perfect example is the last track coloratura, it could be soooo much better without all the added production. His voice has become boring, you’ll never hear it crack or strain like you would on the older albums. I’m a big fan, and I did enjoy Everyday life. Ghost stories is in my top 3 of theirs so I’m an outlier. Hopefully the next album is just the band and their instruments :)

What happened. Coldplay went from 4 perfect albums in a row (Parachutes-viva la vida) to mylo xyloto or whatever which is the most mid thing I’ve ever heard but there’s nothing wrong with trying something new. They attempted a return to form with ghost story’s only to go back to mid pop and then came this abomination that would be lucky to even pass as music.

Worlds colliding. Love this collab. Love Coldplay. Love Bangtan. Love the mutual respect shown. Have now made the song my ringtone.

Continues to Impress!!. With such a strong back catalogue, a new album needs to speak to existing fans and new ones… Coldplay has done just that and smashed this album into the stratosphere! Well worth purchasing and excited for the tour :)

Boring. I always have a bit of trepidation these days when I first hear a new Coldplay album. And with reason! I found this new one pretty lack lustre. I’ve always admired Chris Martin’s song writing abilities and he’s penned some classics over the years. I got half way through this album and gave it away. While there are some some nice moments, they are few and far between. The band seem caught up in some cosmic type atmosphere where the songs are driven by electronic synthesisers and overdubs and some pretty ordinary lyrics. There’s a theme to the album but it got lost on me. I’m not sure how the band will reproduce these songs in concert and keep the fans happy at the same time. Sorry, but it’s a fail for me

Hmmm..... The last two albums have been such a disappointment.. is it overthinking, or trying to be hip and experimental? Where's the soul and heart gone? Chris is/was a genius but HFOD was the last high point for me as a longtime fan. Such a pity.

Excellent Offering. Another great album from Coldplay. Whilst it’s not their finest (& not as good as their last), it is easy on the ear and typically them. Nice theme and mix of tracks, up-beat to slow ballads and a few instrumentals thrown in too. If you’re a fan, you’ll love it. Casual listeners too. Those expecting 5 stars and a perfect album will be disappointed though.

Can’t lose with Coldplay. This album is perfect in its own way! Every album they make has a different sound/direction and this one is fantastic (all bar the Selena feature)

Utter garbage. I was a huge Coldplay fan from day 1 but the last truly outstanding album they produced was X &Y which I could not stop playing. I’ve also seen them live twice back in the day. This however is utter genetic pop garbage and I wouldn’t dream of buying it. I can only hope one day they return to their routes which is what made them a huge international success.

Soulless, what happened?. I've been a massive fan for year's, I still enjoy their early music. What happened to the group that wrote yellow, clocks? I heard their new song My Universe and felt confused are these the same musicians? I love all genres, I even enjoy guilty pleasure pop, but something about their music, the seem to have lost that emotional truth, they just aren't believable. They seem to of become a little smug and seriously woke.

Worst Coldplay Album by Miles. It pains me to say it but theres only 2 good songs on this album in the form of Higher Power and Colourtura that sound somewhat reminiscent of the Coldplay we all love. The rest of it is more like a Maroon 5 tribute band, where they’ve sold their soul to cheesy pop for a big payday! I hope they get back to their roots in the end but this album is not for me at all

Totally wrong direction again !!. After the album x&y, they have totally lost the plot.. There not a band anymore, I would even know what genre of music this is anymore! I really wouldn’t pay a pound for this rubbish. Get back to what made you great..and I mean great.. Drums, bass, guitar, piano for gods sake. Gravity, the scientist, Amsterdam, till kingdom come.. These songs were Coldplay. Really gutted how they are now!!! 😢

Disappointed. 2 good songs and the rest really belong on an album of library music. Still, they have produced some great work in the past, so still a fan of the back catalogue.

Interesting, Creative, Unusual, Brilliant! 😀. When I listened to this album on the day it came out I wasn’t quite sure at first. It was very different to Everyday Life and most of their songs in general. I wasn’t sure what to make of it. But on a second listen a day later, it was a whole different experience. I just needed a moment to get used to Coldplays new sound and it instantly began to fit! It’s an interesting listen to say the least! I liked how some of the songs were named with emojis 😂 and the interludes are a nice way to pause before you listen to the next song. Higher Power is a superb listen, Humankind is just as good, Let Somebody Go sounds beautiful, Human Heart is one of their most simple and creative songs, People of the Pride is basically Arabesque but still a good song, Biutyful has the high alien voice that may or may not be Chris Martin, who knows! My Universe is definitely one of the best in the album, the infinity sign instrumental is a nice piece of work and the last 10 minute song Coloratura is an absolute masterpiece! It’s another great Coldplay album! Can’t wait to see what they come up with for their last 3 albums. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love it. If you prefer their older stuff, listen to that. Loving this album, it is different, but who wants samey. It’s clever, it poppy, it’s thought provoking. I love humankind, I can’t stop singing it. Coloratura is sooo good. First 2 singles, I never tire of. Beautiful singing with Selena It’s happy escapism! Bring on the tour!

Worse than Everyday Life. They're getting around like an ordinary Instagram-style indie pop group, not a world-famous genre-fluid rock band. What are you doing these days? Hope that next album will be better than Everyday Life and this.

Solid album. A strong album from a great band. Not quite up there with their first three albums but still showing they can make versatile music over 20 years in. They deserve more respect than they get!

Return to form??. The ninth album does not know what what it wants to be, the only real track I can praise is “Coloratura” a 10 minute throwback and also up to scratch masterpiece that blends the old X&Y era with the current era. Not the biggest fan but it’s no slouch either, overall it’s a decent album but could be better for the current era, 4/10

Oh no not again!. Its such a shame when talented songwriters run out of ideas but im afraid its happened again .Time for them to take a break and come back with something decent for fans to spend their cash on.

Not a proper album! disappointed. About 80% of this album seems to be just odd electronic music. Barely anything that sounds ‘Coldplay’ ie lyrics, singing, what you expect. The ‘song’ titles without words, well skip those, they’re just musical interludes. Which leaves about 4 songs! Feel ripped off if I’m honest. Life long Coldplay fan, from day one. Sometimes an album from them drops & it takes times to appreciate or get into because long intro’s. But not in this case…. Most of the tracks are just music sound bites. The few songs that exist are good.

MY FAVE ALBUM RN. wow this is an absolute masterpieces this album was made to be performed. I am not surprised that this album has a world tour Coldplay are my fave band. My fave song is people of the pride because it is so different from their disgrogrophey. MY FAVE ALBUM RN And you can’t change my mind.

Let someone go is amazing!!. Let someone go with Selena Gomez is a perfect vocal match. Beautiful song! Its up there with past songs like ‘fix you’! I think people forget Coldplay have been successful in the music industry when other bands have come and gone and they are still keeping true to themselves but also being innovative and modern! Congrats!!!

What a load of Twaddle. Some very nice instrumental parts and interesting electonic music... But, what the heck is most of it? Not what I expect for an album costing 11 quid... Poor effort guys.

Confused and Self Indulgent. It seems Coldplay have finally turned into one of those bands who completely forgot that it was the fans who made them successful by singing back their songs to them — this album is really mess. Concept nonsense. Where is the Coldplay we all paid money to see put on a show and sing solid, powerful rock anthems? Because it’s not this band. It’s a shame, because I was really looking forward to taking my kids (the next generation) to see them live next year, but no way I can justify it if they’re playing this nonsense.

Ok at best…... The feel of this album in my opinion is very reminiscent of Mylo Xyloto. It’s ok, but after the new direction “Everyday Life” promised, which was an album that took a long time and repeated listens for me to fully appreciate, I do feel somewhat disappointed by the latest album. Die hard fans will love it I’m sure, but those hankering after another “Rush of blood to the head” will be sorely disappointed. I’m not sure where Chris and the boys go from here. They’ve achieved everything they could ever have wished for. Fame, riches, adoration and more. Another reinvention has to be in the cards or I see the band fading away into history….

Smug arrogant self indulgent. Just an awful example of a group willing to take money and offer very little in return. Ground breaking album but only in its level of contempt for fans.

Truly Disappointing. Where have you gone Coldplay? You have truly lost your way. Maybe true tracks are OK - and what is with the Chipmunk voice? Overpriced and Underwhelming Gutted - again!

Well. This is the pits. Love there old stuff. Seen them twice brilliant. But this Brit pop album is crap. They’ve lost the plot. But if you’re into old men trying to be a boy band you might like it a bit.

Listen Carefully. I guess when you are successful musicians you get to choose what music you write, what ideas to explore and where to take your musical style. If the unwashed masses don't appreciate it well, ok - Art for Art's Sake. Much of the reviews of this album are polarised but I think this is one of those albums that takes time to appreciate. Other reviews have singled out respective highs and lows but together I think this album works exceptionally well. There are myriad influences and what comes over is an affirmation of Coldplay's stamina, imagination and talent, whilst in many ways doffing their collective caps to where some of their music has come from. Colortura is a great place to finish; echoes of Pink Floyd's Brain Damage from DSOTM mix effortlessy with other British prog rock influences. Listen carefully and there's a moment (4:30) where you could swear Jeff Lynne has just dropped into the recording studio. And that's the beauty of this record, it needs to be listened to.

Next step?. Building on their own success becomes harder as the years pass by. Those that prefer the Coldplay of old better stick away from what they producing today. For Chris and Co. this is part of their development - this album is def. a continuation of the previous 2 studio albums. I'd say they at a crossroad - continue producing pop-rock or start identifing with what made them globally loved by everyone. I've given 3 stars for this album as it's a fair reflection of each track, nice not great/ not fantastic but also not poor. What would we love next? Something of a blend between X&Y and Ghost Stories - where they began to experiment with their music. They are a progressive band and some oldschool listeners don't like the modern pop-rock they producing but if you take the time to listen to these tracks you actually realise not a lot has actually changed. Anyway 3/5 it is. Download the tracks you like and lets move on.

I really like it. I got this at the same time as some other albums thinking it would be the one I’d like the less and the others more. Turns out I’ve really grown to like this album more than the others. 👍🏼
