Disappointed. Yeah, The sound and the band has not been the same since Richie Sambora left. I do understand why he left...just sayin’ I am a huge fan of Bon Jovi and will be for life 💖 With saying that, I was so looking forward to this new 2020 album. I like maybe two of the songs on the album ( I should of just bought those ) I’m used to Jon Bon Jovi being political and that has been a big part of his albums for many years and that’s ok with me as most artist are. I’m mostly disappointed in the sound and most of the songs on this album. I have been disappointed in the last three concerts too, but, I’m sure I will be at their next concert when their in my area agains and things are back to “normal.”

Um, what?. If I wanted a sappy country album, I would pick up (insert sappy country artist here)

1 star is being generous. Mmmm, looks like Jon has morphed into Bruce Springsteen at this point, trying to push a political agenda, been a huge fan of the band for many years, the dynamic of the band changed when Richie left in my eyes, sad sad sad, completely ruining their own reputation at this point. Get John Shanks out of the picture as producer and get Richie back on guitar, Phil can go do his thing with the Drills and maybe, just maybe, you’ve got a halfway decent chance at masking a Bon Jovi record that we can all be proud of before you call it quits.

No !!!. This is what happens to your music when you go total SJW and virtue signaler. American Reckoning is the biggest lyrical lie. I gave it one star for the effort of the studio engineers putting their time .

Album is as bad as the year. Trash

LOVE THIS SONG. Bon Jovi is my all time FAVORITE singer

What happen to the Jersey Boys. What happen to writing about friends, good times and love. Your politics align with the super elites who are morally bankrupt. You guys are better then this. Disappointed in the music.

Hot Garbage. Take all the horrible lyrics out of it. He sounds horrible the music sounds horrible. This may be the worst album I’ve heard. Just bad. Not sure what they were listening to in the studio. Who green lighted this? Just disturbingly bad.

Really. These reviews saying that they’re too political now are unreasonable. If someone like lebron came out and said the things he sang on this album people would bow down to him like he’s a god but because this music isn’t up to your standards that warrants a one star review. This album had hard rock, slow rock. I think to be able to write stuff like this takes so much talent. To get a message like this actor in four minutes is talent not lack of artistic ability.

No thanks. Doesn’t sound like the Bon Jovi I used to know

Sounds like it was written by a committee...while sitting in Starbucks. It's too bad Bon Jovi's name is on this album.

😤. Politics 2020

Amazing album!. Thank you JBJ for your thoughtful contribution to the times we are living in! I love your music and this new album does not disappoint!

20/20. In light of the fact that I’ve heard enough from Trump Loyalists to last a lifetime, I really wanted to like this. Problem is I’ve never been into Bon Jovi. Sorry, Jon. Keep the faith.

Horrible. I’d rather watch CNN

Stay out of politics!. Been listening to Bon Jovi my whole life and always enjoyed it. This is awful. Please stop with all the politics and get back to making fun Rock ‘n’ roll records.

You rock. Jon don’t pay any attention to the negative reviews. You do a huge amount of work for the homeless and hungry AND you make great music. I e been a fan since way back in the 80s and will continue to be a fan. You make awesome music. The new stuff today stinks.... most of the “new” stuff I hear is music put out originally in the 80s and then remixed with a different sound but still not original. You do awesome ORIGINAL work so just keep on doing it ok!! THANK YOU!!

Yuck!!!!. 2020 was bad enough, this album makes me hate it (2020) even more. Perhaps that was the goal. Either way, I don’t want a replay of 2020 the year or 2020 the album.

Horrible!!. I have been a fan of for years. This will be the first tour I have missed in 30 years. After previewing this album, i am so relieved i have not purchased tickets. Get out of politics and back into music….

Good, but not a hit. I’ve just listened to new album 3 times in a row, for me two best songs here are: Story of love and Let it rain. ,Story’ is so sad and touching, and ,Rain’ good late Bon Jovi style song. Other good songs: American reckoning, Unbroken, Blood in the water, but they are all sad. Country style song , Do what you can’ is ok, but not a hit, and it’s country, not my style. ,Limitless’ sounds like a hit song, but for some reason I don’t really like it. And two songs I don’t like at all: Beautiful drug and Brothers in arms, too cheap and poppy. Overall good sad album, was expecting 2020 to be a hit album, sad depressing year, and this album (Story of love almost made cry). And one more song that I really like is Shine-love ballad.

Are we ready for this?. I’ve been a Bon Jovi fan since I was 11 years old and now that I’m 45, I can pretty much be a Bon Jovi historian. Bon Jovi is the reason I picked up the guitar at 13 and why I’ve been a high school music teacher for 20 years. Here’s the deal... if Springsteen would’ve released this album, it would’ve been much more accepted than Bon Jovi releasing it. Bon Jovi fans are not ready to let go of the nostalgia and Jon is evolving into an elder statesman. But the question is... can Bon Jovi still do what they’ve done like none other? Through their songs, they delivered a feeling that only they can. From the emotional ballads that only Jon can deliver to the rockers that stand the test of time. When I listen to “I’ll Be There For You” or “Always”, I am elevated by the hooks, lyrics, musicianship, production, and Jon’s vocal delivery. These songs are a different kind of left turn and there’s a lot to digest. Accepting Richie not being in the band, John Shanks taking on a bigger role than he probably should, Phil X lacking the emotion, phrasing, tone, and soul that Richie delivered. And they also suffer from not having the songwriting partnership of Jon and Richie. Then there’s the political and “today” part of it. It’s hard for me to connect with these songs because they’re so centered on today... and who wants to hear more about today? Music is about being transported elsewhere and Jon has always been able to put that nostalgia and romanticism in my life. So... Jon still knows how to write hooks and his band knows how to support him. However, the best songs on the album are two bonus tracks not available on the standard version. “Shine” and “Luv Can”. These are two classic Bon Jovi ballads with those hooks that you wish you would’ve thought of. I can compare “Shine” to “Real Love” from “This House Is Not For Sale”. As soon as I heard “Shine”, I went for my guitar right away! That’s the Bon Jovi I’d like to continue to hear. The good news is that Jon proves he can write the catchiest hooks and that he will continue to possess this ability. In these two songs, he also proves that his voice can still pull off the range and stylings that have been constants. As fans, we should embrace evolution while hoping that the team of Jon and Richie will get back in a room together soon.

Brilliant album!!. Ignore all the bad reviews. There are some excellent songs in this album including “do what you can” and “ limitless’.

Finally!. This band has been around, seemingly, forever. It's about time they release an album with decent music on it. I imagine the dopey fans want more party songs but the band have aged out. Let's hope for many more like this. I might even go to a concert if they ever come back.

Load of Crap!. Wow just when you taught it couldn’t get more political Bon Jovi dumps a load of crap that they pass off as rock. Won’t pay $10.99 to hear someone else’s political views. Hugh disappointment. Do what u once were good at, playing rock or just retire.

Sad. I want my Bon Jovi back - not this political statement. And yes- Ritchie is greatly missed and it is painfully evident in these lyrics and lack of harmony.

BonJovi 2020. I absolutely love this album. It sounds like the old BonJovi! The songs are great and if you are a Bon Jovi fan I recommend you to get this album. It is great!

Pathetic.... BJ's a libtard that forgot his roots and how to rock. Just another woke folk joke!

Jon Biden Sanders Jovi. Stick your past 4 albums, up your socialist-liberal-loving arse and set fire to em~ You need to crawl into your hole, along with burned out, liberal Motley Crue, Dead Dave Mustain and the rest of the clowns, to sit and rot! Your political views have zero impact on your crappy music now. CHEERS to 2021 and MAGA's victory!

Disappointing. I listened to all the tracks and in the end, only bought the duet version of Do What You Can. This should have been a JBJ solo album. It’s definitely not a band album. These songs are too depressing. I’ll just listen to their old albums that were often uplifting and full of soul. Bon Jovi will never be the same without Richie Sambora.

Terrible, has become the normal. They have been circling the bottom of the bowl for quite a while now. But, this is an all time low. Wouldn’t take this if it was free.

Garbage. I love Bon Jovi. But this is garbage.

Good album, very relevant.. I’m middle aged, was not a huge Bon J fan when I was a kid, but they get better and better. I really like this album!

Get out of politics.. Why Jon Bon Jovi? Get Sambora back and stick to rock and roll.Politics has no place in Rock. Trump 2024

Zero if I could. Zero stars

Disappointing. I'm not sure what you call this effort other than pure crap and a money grab by a former rocker on his last leg. I wanted to like the music, but just couldn’t continue to listen to his depressing lyrics. Get Ritchie back and get back to your rock roots not this political garbage.

Garbage. Writing about social ills on a third grade level. Bonjovi needs to retire. Production is crap as is the musicianship. Auto tune can’t help his voice. Just sad.... Ritchie bailed at the right time. Saved himself a lot of embarrassment.

Gone Jovi. Time to get get Richie Sambora and Desmond Child back on the song writing line up. If not, it’s time to call it quits. Jon proves he has too much money, too much time on his hands, and no talent on his own. There are 5 year olds who can write better songs than this junk ! Who’s the schmuck at the record label who agreed to release this ?

Not a rock album. I can overlook political rhetoric on an album when the lyrics accompany great rock n roll, but this album has no hooks and nothing that stands out as uniquely its own. Musically, the album sounds flat and uninspiring. If a band is going to change its sound and mission as much as Bon Jovi has then the band should market itself under a new brand. This album (and the last few) tarnish the Bon Jovi brand of the 80s and 90s - you know the time when they made music that people wanted to listen to.

Reality. Long tome Jovi girl, and although not all of the songs are my favorite I think this album is timely and like every Bon Jovi has it marks a moment in my life and this one is without a doubt a time stamp in our lives! Do what you can is my favorite, at first listen story of love made me cry, it was spot on for anyone who has a kid they love. Let it rain is an optimistic call to look past individual biases. Beautiful drug i bet will be fun live! Can’t wait for the tour if there is a tour!

Crap. If I want to hear the crap of 2020 rehashed, I will just watch CNN. We need music for enjoyment not for their punishment.

Woke Hot Dumpster Water. Not the band you fell in love with. Don’t need to be preached at by a multi millionaire about how bad America is. The America that gave him everything

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I wore out Slippery When Wet many times back in the day. New Jersey too and so on and so on... If you want to keep sleeping in 1986 then go ahead and keep listening to Slippery. This is 2021. Do you expect the band to keep releasing that album over and over again? I can't believe all this negativity. Antisocial media s--ks

Amazing!. I gotta say this album keeps me going I really enjoy it!

Where is Jon Bob Jovi?. What a joke! This album sucks…..

Makes me feel sad and old. My whole life since my pre-teen years Bon Jovi has been my favorite. Inspiring songs of friendship and love and conviction. Being from nj myself made me feel even more connected to them. At one point with albums like The Circle, which I do like, I started getting the sense of disappointment because they were starting to sound over produced and the songs were over thought when writing. Beginning with Richie’s last contribution to the band What About Now, their sound and quality has taken a major hit. And, unfortunately, since his departure Jon’s voice is just gone. Figuratively and literally. A band that used to make me feel energized and hopeful now makes me feel sad, old and like my youthfulness has disappeared along with this band’s hey day. Sorry but I do believe it’s time for them to bow out before they become more of a laughing stock.

Bad. Just plain bad. This from someone who had loved them since their first album. I don’t need your political garbage. When Richie left the band was finished. JBJ just won’t throw in the towel. Retire already. Go campaign for the lefties. It’s about all you’re good for.

Politics ruins it all. Bon Jovi has gone downhill for ahwile, especailly from a song writing view, Richie leaving was the worst & that alone would keep me from even going to see a live show where i would hope they would sing nothing but the classics. Pass on this one for sure.

Love it. Bon Jovi will always be my favorite, I love their music. What can I say, they always seem to create music that speaks to me. As long as they keep creating more music I will keep on listening!

Nah.. There’s some good songs here, but also some really political subject matter.

Wow!!!!. For all of you who cannot appreciate this album. This is an awakening. Seek love, seek God, seek mercy before it is too late!!

Do what you can with JN is absolute pointless garbage. Do what you can with JN is absolute pointless garbage and I hope you put Phil on salary.

Not 80’s Bon Jovi, Because It Is 2020!. If you are still stuck in the 80’s than you won’t like this release. I was and still am a fan of Bon Jovi and imho this is his best music since “Have A Nice Day”. Every song is well written with a solid message whether it be political or about caring for one another. Great work John, nice to see a new rock album with message of hope!

Pourri.

Circle. Best album since the circle

Look, Folks. Life is a continuum.. Yes. His voice is aging. Yes, Richie is gone (hopefully not forever). But, life goes on. We age. The lens we look through also shifts. Jon is on his life's path, and we want our generation's best artists to age along with us, don't we? This is Jon NOW. We don't want the leather-pant hair guy screaming impossible octaves now, don't we? He has pride, he's not going to release crap. This is good enough. As you travel on your life's path, you'll also see your lens changing too. Appreciate what it is.

Worst bon Jovi ever. Sadly, I feel like this was just a awful album. The last minute change didn’t help it as the 2 new songs are the worst songs on the album and don’t fit with the rest of the album which bring the enjoyment of the album harder.

Whaaaaaaaa. Bon jovi with 2020 music this year has taken a turn!

Jovi is 2020. Jon Bon Jovi has always had his ear to the ground in writing great songs. This album, however, goes straight for the heart from his heart. The album cover should be a big clue on what to expect from this Jersey rocker. He looks deep in thought with stars inside 2020 indicating an election year standing in front of an important building (have a look). 2020 dealt the world an interesting hand and the situation in the U.S. seems quite bleak as Jon sings about George Floyd, the recent shootings, the traumatic effects of PTSD on our military personnel. He does it in such a way where he juxtaposes bleakness with catchy music in that familiar Bon Jovi way. When I sat and listened to the entire album, I was haunted. That is difficult to say being Canadian but I feel for the people in the United States. They have a society crumbling down with a lot of overdue angry people and an egomaniac running the country into the ground. What better artist to voice the narrative of a country in ruins than the iconic Jon Bon Jovi. His voice is not as strong as it once was but his heart and lyrics are stronger than ever.

WOW. Excellent album!

Just wow. Oh my god, what an album, they have tackled these issues very well and the direction they took with the music, it’s beautiful

What the World Needs. Thank you Bon Jovi for this thoughtful and relevant album. It’s what I needed to hear. I’m so glad to listen to musicians that didn’t forget that one of the chief jobs of an artist is to speak truth to power. As Banksy said “good art comforts the disturbed and disturbs the comforted.” Thank you for music that comforts during difficult times.

So bad it's farcical. I've been a life long Bon Jovi fan, but man, this is the pits. It's so bad it's farcical. Nobody, not one person, needed Bon Jovi to release a social justice album. And yet, here we are. A loooong fall from grace for this once proud band.

Sad. His voice is done...Why doesn't he stop...it's time. This is really sad.

BON JOVI FOREVER!. BON JOVI FOREVER

He hears & sees us. This is exactly what I need to listen to right now. Thank you Jon for always feeling the pulse of the world and singing it back to us with your music and words.
