Not for everyone. I respect Donald’s artistry in that he never gets complacent. His focus, ideas, style, and outlook is always changing. Those that gave this album bad reviews did so because they want Childish Gambino the rapper, not Childish Gambino the artist.

GG. Great album , got to listen a few times , very deep , he be throwing down , but you got to be down to get it !!!!!

This whole album smells like a peach papaya. This album gets in your head. It’s a great journey/experience through and through though as CG takes you down your own feelings with songs that slap, hit, and soothe over your thoughts. It’s really infectious and I can’t get enough. This is Childish’s best project to date.

Doesn’t seems finished. I wanted to love this album since it is technically his last, but it just seemed incomplete too me. There is elements from each song that could have been captured better and expanded open. The other problem I had with this album is some of the songs just felt so long. A lot of the songs could have been shorter, gotten the message across without dragging on.

Not sure what this is. Maybe my fault for blindly buying the album before sampling the tracks, as I’ve been a fan from the start, but this isn’t comparable to anything in the past. It doesn’t sound like a CG album at all, and not at all what I was expecting. A little disappointed.

Very, VERY Good. 3.15.20 did not grab me at first but after listening to it a few more times, I am sold. The album reflects Childish Gambino's growth as an artist. Those expecting another "Awaken My Love" or "Camp" will be disappointed, but I appreciated Gambino's desire to take risks and not to stay in one place musically. On this album, Childish Gambino continues to make very intersting, genre deying music and it seems that he was particularly influenced by Stevie Wonder, Prince, the Beatles, and even the Beach Boys among others. Songs incorporate multiple genres including Techno, Psychedelic Pop/Rock, Hip-Hop and R&B and five songs are especially noteworthy: Time, 12.38, 42.26, 47.48, and 53.49. If this is Childish Gambino's final album, I think he leaves on a high note. (4.5/5.0)

Nothing like what I expected. But everything I needed it to be.. Once again Childish Gambino blesses us with his artistic imagination and his unrivaled creativity. Unlike most artists that create music they know their fans want to hear, Gambino continues to expose his listeners to new sounds, new images, and new arrangements hat challenges our senses. He doesn’t meet us where we are. He takes us to his world and demonstrates to us the range and depth of our own creative palates. This album is nothing like what I expected of the musician. But his avant-garde perspective presented in musical form is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, DG/CG🙌🏾

surprisingly better than the reviews say. i was shocked to see this piece get such negative reviews when i think it was a beautifully constructed, well cohesive album. the songs are all equally catchy to me and i don’t have an issue with a track on this album.

Genius. Is this album differnt? Yes. However, those that say it's trash, are completey wrong. I hear alot of Prince, funk, hip hop, R&B, electroinic, gospel, and many more styles. This album not Freaks and Geeks or Backpackers...this is growth.

Love it.. Love the diverse sounds and overall, the few words in many songs have powerful messages, and it truly is a beautiful compilation of music. Love the smooth transitions between many songs.

Can't get into it. I guess I'm not cool enough to understand the "genius." Love Donald and know he is one of the most talented people in the world... but come on. Like 3 minutes of the entire album is enjoyable... Dude got too rich and is trying too hard to be the next Prince. Please divert more energy into stand-up if this is the music quality now, or please come back and release a game changing album under your real name next time.

Really Nice, hope donald puts out more.... I still want to take the time to kinda fully take in the album. I think this is really good so far, I’m just hoping more stuff to be released at a later time. I just kind of find it odd that they didn’t include “this is America”, “summertime magic”, or even the unreleased song from the google pixel 3 commercial. Not that I don’t mind a persons creative output , but almost every hit that was pumped up for the album isn’t present which I kind of find odd. Considering this is suppose to be the last album (finished/not yet )I would believe this to be more parts to it; more grandiose . Keep it up donald👍🏻

Expected. From his last album this type of music should’ve been expected. Even going back to his earlier work like because the internet he’s always been into this type of sound. Don’t place artists in a box. This body of work gonna age like fine wine.

This is so different in every way. I only like three of the tracks, and that includes the summer track that was already released

This is getting old. Why do artists always have to experiment and make the weirdest sounding tracks/albums. For example Kanye and Kid Cudi. Now Childish Gambino has lost what made him such a unique and good artist is now possibly being thrown in with Kanye, Cudi, and other artists who stray away from what made them great in the first place.

You have to understand tha concept to like it. Iss fire you just gotta be opened minded

I love this album!!. It’s a little wave, little old school, a little psychedelic, little lo-fi. Above all else it’ll make you think while you’re high. He was probably high while making the whole album.

Why he’s retiring Gambino. Well, I don’t really know why he’s retiring Gambino, but I’d say Donald Glover has matured well past his first couple of albums. The “Camp” fan base that keeps on wishing for more of that sound aren’t going to get it. Glovers present mature and authentic sound deserves a new artist name that will stop associating him with his previous sound, and immature fan base that aren’t able to appreciate true artistry and experimentation. The album is Fantastic by the way, takes you on a journey.
