True Love: A Celebration Of Cole Porter. Harry Connick, Jr. is one of those outstanding artists that is able to elevate their work to a level above the particular genre they ply their craft. Even if one is not a particular fan of jazz, play a piece from one of the many releases of Connick';s and it makes one stop what they are doing and just listen. Why then do I find this album leaning toward being a bit less satisfying than his other works? It certainly is not because of anything less than stellar work by Mr. Connick. Or Mr. Porter! The album is plagued by a slight but annoying sound of over production. Too many elements with no room for any of the subtle and satisfying individual variations Connick is able to impart to a song.

HCJ makes music magic again. Well known for his original songs, HCJ’s performing American standard classics with his own arrangements makes this another hit album for a great music maker!! Thank you Mr Connick, Jr!!

So far, so great!. The first two songs are wonderful. Looking forward to the rest of the album!

Average Harry Conick. Nothing really pops out on me on the CD that I just purchased going through it twice but nothing stands out arrangements sound basic Count Basie style Connick does get a little boring with the singing style

Excellent.... This is a great tribute to the music of Cole Porter. Connick's voice and musical arrangements are tops.

Harry and his big band is absolute fire. I have been listening to Harry Connick Jr. since I was 12. 25 years later and this guys music is still dynamite. His voice is smooth and his style is his own. His big band is tight and can play some killer soli sections, but also play great back ups without covering the leader. This is a 5 star big band crooner cover album. Lots of replays to come!
