Even more instrumental than before.... And that’s great. Just at the edge of the last of the Golden Days of music. Right before everything just crumbled into the madness of overly used electronic keyboards to make sounds, taking you with them.

Their last amazing album. S+M was the first album I actually listened to from them even though I heard them on the radio before. I was so in love with the band after I saw them live when they toured I couldn’t wait until their next album. But it only went downhill from here. Evolve was ok imo but origins was completely unlistenable to me. Them going from a rock-ish style to a more pop style just isn’t it for me and a lot of other fans. So when I say I hope they go back to their Night Visions and Smoke and Mirrors sound, I’m not only speaking for myself. Mercury is a make it or break it, and sadly with Follow You, it seems like a break it.

I have loved them forever. And I will till the end🥺

Great, but not as good as Night Visions. Smoke and Mirrors is an amazing album, but I think Night Visions is much better. This is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Shots is one of my Top 5 Favorite songs by the band. I Bet My Life is one of my Top 10 Favorite songs by the band. There are other great songs like Gold, Smoke and Mirrors, Friction, Dream, Hopeless Opus, and The Fall. Songs like I’m So Sorry, Polaroid, It Comes Back to You, Trouble, and Summer are fine. Overall, this is a really great album.

A Stellar Sophomore Album. Smoke + Mirrors takes a darker approach with storytelling, and it proves to be another great collection of songs from the band. Personal favorites include “Shots”, “I’m So Sorry”, “Polaroid”, “Friction”, “Hopeless Opus”, and “The Fall”. However, the entire album proves to be a fantastic follow up to Night Visions.

Incredible Second Album. Night Visions was amazing, and this was literally sooooo good, it almost beats Night Visions as my favorite album.
