Somewhat of a classic. The beats are tight and the samples are perfect, BUT these guys can't stay on the beat when they're rapping! So it comes off sloppy, and it kills the overall song when these guys are so off!

Gather Around Kids, it's Time for a Music Lesson. Licensed to Ill is one of the best rap albums ever made, PERIOD. Released during a time N.W.A & Public Enemy were very hardcore & revolutionary, Beastie Boys showed that you can have so much fun with rap music instead of sending a message, or standing up for your city, race, or against the government. Licensed to Ill is a fun, amazing, inspriational, and a game changing album for rap & rock... making it easily one of the best albums of the 80s...... wow, all that to say Eminem was actually the one who borrowed the cover from Beastie Boys.... keep kids from embarassing themselves.

Get this album. Now.. This is a hip hop essential. The breakout album from three kids out of Brooklyn. It's a-MA-zing. The sampling, the banter, the double entendres, all of it. Now, I love '60s pop, '70s southern rock, '80s new wave, '90s grunge, and even classical music. This album is a pure pleasure, and I will never apologize for it. If you don't have it, get it. That is all.
