This album is like herpes for anybody with an ITunes account. Every time you think it’s gone it shows back up. It’s like being haunted by the ghost of a moody Irish heroin addict.

Disappear Forever!!. I hate when I see this one pop up. I don’t like it. I have deleted it so many times. Awful music. It won’t allow zero stars either.

Crapola. This is pure crap which I don't want and no matter how many times I get rid of it, it keeps coming back. Come on iTunes, there are enough of us who don't want this album that you should do the right thing and remove it.

Brilliant as always. To anyone complaining about the automatically free downloaded album, not only should you be thanking them but you do realize you’re able to delete the freaking album from your library? 🙄 Anyway, the album is an absolute masterpiece as usual.

Thanks apple for making me truly hate a band. I’m not sure if the intent was to make the band more popular or perhaps to make people feel like they got something “extra” but if I didn’t think this album sucked before the fact that it pops up so often on my phone and I can’t seem to get rid of it has caused me to not only hate the album but the band as well. Dumb idea apple!

Unwanted download to Apple Music library.. I have tried multiple times to delete this from my Apple Music library but it keeps coming back.

I hate it!!. I hate this album so much! I never wanted it and still to this day do not want it and cannot delete it off my phone! It keeps coming back! At this point I am so annoyed by it, I am considering no longer using iPhones! You mean to tell me that one of the most technologically advanced companies in the world can't and/or won't allow us to remove this garbage in 2022?! Ridiculous!

this album is actually really good. u2 became so overrated everyone decided to hate them and now they’re the most underrated band in the world. i love this album. i wish it was in MY itunes library but it isn’t. this is where you can reach me now and iris are classic songs

The release wasn’t great, but the album is fantastic. Putting an album in people’s iCloud wasn’t the best idea, I don’t blame people for disliking it. But the backlash was because Apple pushed it onto some devices and their tech support had trouble figuring out how to fix it. U2 just made the music, it’s not their fault Apple messed up. Apple’s the same company who got rid of the headphone jack even after everyone begged them not to. Tbh, Apple hasn’t done anything innovative since Jobs died- what’s modern Apple done, the Apple Pencil no one wants? Songs of innocence is one of U2’s best albums imo. Excellent production, it really sounds good. The songs are some of the most heartfelt they’ve ever made, SOI is an excellent sequel to Boy. There’s some really cool stuff here: TIWYCRMN is a brooding love letter to the Clash, Iris is classic U2, California should’ve been a single, and Cedarwood Road could (and should) be on a “greatest hits” album. This is clearly an album that was meticulously worked on and not phoned in- the Apple release tragically overshadows one of their best albums. Give it a shot, you’ll be glad you did.

Bruh. I don’t think it’s perfect, but I’m giving it five stars just to tick people off.

A good album despite the issues. I like how people got to experience U2 for free, but it should have been a free iTunes purchase.I like the album regardless and love the song Every breaking wave and Raised by wolves.

The album that won’t die. I will never forgive Apple for foisting this upon its customers and making it literally impossible to get rid of, even with Apple support. And somehow the music I actually purchased requires greater effort to download again. And I hate U2 every time this junk pops into my shuffle.

Forced. Literally this album was forced and has not been easy to delete. Sad.

You have to contact Apple Support. It took me chatting with Apple Support and then having it escalated to a phone call because the advisor had no idea, so now I'm waiting on a call. All of this just to delete an album I didn't want. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO DELETE IT YOURSELF. It will just keep redownloading. You have to contact apple support.

The Dumbest 1-Star Reviews In The History of Apple. Everyone for some reason is criticizing the album because they got it for free, even though this album has great music on it.

Underatted U2 Album. Was this the album that just loaded onto people's itunes? I didn't listen to it until a few years ago, but saw it annoylingly there. It's actually the best modern day U2 album in my opinion. They try new sounds, effects, melodies and lyrics. It brings me back to the Actung and Pop days.

I never wanted this lame album. I never wanted this album and somebody when I put my phone on shuffle, it always plays. I’m trying to figure out how to delete it. People shouldn’t be allowed to just install their music on our phones

I hate having this album in my phone. I deleted it, but it kept coming back. Hate it

No thank you. Stop putting this garbage automatically into my phone. U2 isn’t good. They came up with a new sound that they then proceeded to use in EVERY song, no matter how old it got. Then Coldplay decided to pick up where U2 had left off and continue to beat that rotting carcass of a dead horse.

Stop and listen to it.. Despite the controversy of it being added to your account free of charge, it is a decent to good album by the band. Definitely not their strongest but not as awful as people make it out to be. U2 i feel is at their most polished and matured. The emotion is there just minus the raw energy that only youth can conjure. I enjoy this entry even though it took me awhile to get into it. Its worth a closer listen to those who dismissed it initially.

Stockholm Syndrome. I was at ground zero on Sep 9th 2014 when the ill-fated promotion was running and us “lucky” apple users got the privilege of getting it before the official release for free. Since I was no older than 11, I saw zero appeal in the album apart from it being free and I had barely heard of U2 at the time. To be introduced to a band considered so famous and legendary in this way definitely soured my opinion of them thanks to a poor first impression, and all I really remember of this album was irritation. The button on my earbuds would occasionally click while I was, say, listening to ASMR to go to sleep, and then the dreaded U2 Ambush would happen. Maybe I’d be listening to say, KiwiWhispers or Ephemeral Rift and then… *Ck-clik…* No, please god, NO- ”SLEEEP LOIKE A BAYBE TONOOOIGHT, IN YOUR DREEEAAAMS-“ When it wasn’t that, it was boredom, as was the manifestation of my juvenile desires for hard and high energy material like my fleeting addiction to Dragonforce and Slayer, and this album is in no way hard rock, and is lightyears away from the thrash I was used to. Much like a child’s view of freeform jazz, (although I love freeform jazz today) I kept wondering when they were going to stop warming up and play the song. The song would end. And then it would slowly register with me that the white noise was the song. I can only assume I was among the first to use the now defunct U2 removal tool, because it has been gone from my library for years and I can’t even find it in my purchase history anymore. Oddly, now that my taste in music has matured and continues to change, branching in many directions including towards the wilder black metal and the softer psychedelic, I find myself coming back to it every now and again hoping to give it another chance and learn that I was wrong about the whole thing. I haven’t yet come to such a conclusion. Yes, the songs carry depth, but in lyrics only at most times while instrumentation stays very subdued, out of the way, and in general quite disinteresting, although the odd chord change does immediately set me onto the edge of my seat after being deprived of it for so long.

Trash!. This band had always sucked! This album picture is disgusting!! This is the only fail Apple has done! Giving it out for free?! That’s because it bombed like everything else they put out! Trash,trash,trash!!! Worlds crappiest band to date!!!

Worth what I paid for it.. This not a good album. The creative force of U2 has clearly dried up. 2009's No Line On The Horizon was a snoozer, but this one even moreso, as evidenced by these really bland songs. The Edge's signature guitar sound sounds stale and Bono is obnoxiously Bono.

Non consensual. I’d give the 0 stars if I could. The fact that this was forcefully placed in my library and it won’t go away no matter how many times I delete it makes me furious.
