Amazing record. YTG keeps getting better!. Young the Giant keeps pursuing an increasingly sophisticated sound, along with catchy hooks that will keep you playing key tracks on repeat over and over again. This is definitely worth the full download and catching their live show.

AMAZING. I’ve loved YtG forever and they never disappoint me! Tightrope and Mirror Master are my jams!

Love this album!. Just saw them live in Gainesville, such a good band and I really like this new album

Never disappointed. Kept their rich sound with bluesy soulful vocals and a dreamy new wave swagger that is so original to them. I love it!

Not sure how people review before album release. So love the first to albums, and will even say home of the strange was pretty good despite it moving toward that overproduced state. Unfortunately this album is too over produced, predictable.. like this was a band.. but now they feel pop-ish.. not what I was looking for.. so far from listening a lot of the songs are on the brink of radio Gaga. Hopefully I’ll warm up to it or something but this is my first impression. Disappointed. (For reference my favorite song by them is typhoon).

No like. The percussion is terribly unsophisticated and really drives down the sound of pretty much every track. I don't really know why their sound is going in this direction. Drop the cheesy pop. Simplify is the most predictable single that I could have wanted...or not wanted.

Not the same. I love them, and there are a few songs on this album that I liked, but I was expecting a lot more of their more upbeat sound with those catchy lyrics. Didn’t really find that on this album ):

What happened?. Older stuff is better.

Pleasant Surprise. In a world where it's difficult to find decent music I came across this album.I but a couple songs and finally caved in and bought the whole album. A good song is a good song no matter what label we put on it. This is a solid album start to finish.

Pretty good. My least favorite album of theirs but it’s still pretty good.

A++. If I could give this album a higher review I most certainly would. This is my go to feel-good music and I’ve already listened to this album 6 times in the past 2 days. Fantastic!

Love it!. Can’t stop listening to this album; it gets better every time to listen to it. I think my favorite is You + I.

Young the giant is back. This whole album is revivifying. Funk and chill sounds all around. Glad to see them back in action!

Beautifully crafted album. This slightly new direction the band decided to take has 100% paid off. Every song is so filled with emotion and the songs are put together so wonderfully. Might be in contention for my favorite album of theirs (next to mind over matter)

Ooowowow. I think people are missing the mark. This is by far one of the best albums of the year. The concept is reflective and real. It is comforting and authentic. The melodies and messages get stuck in your head in all the right ways. Start listening differently. This album is so necessary and applicable.

YTG FTW. Wonderful album! Got some funk and groove and moved back to a more classic sound focusing on the music composition and lyrics. I’ve enjoyed all their music! But, this album really reminds me of a revitalized version of their earlier work. Love it!

Disappointed. Just like Interpol, Young the Giant has disappointed me with their new album. There's basically no depth to any of the songs and there's a lot of the same. The only song I enjoy is Simplify. I think this is their worst album as they've removed most of their authenticity present in even their mainstream-leaning Home of the Strange.

Not what I was expecting. I am a huge YTG fan...but this album as a whole is not what I was expecting. I enjoyed the first two singles and a few songs on the album are pretty good, but overall I'm disappointed and was expecting more from them. I understand they were trying a different perspective from Home of the Strange, but I miss that orignal sound from their debut album, which is by far their best.

Not the worst. This band started out as quite an anomaly I think; super smooth tones and voice, and fantastic production with still an accesible sort of sound. As their albums have gone along and come to this point though, I feel like they've sacrifcied a good portion of their originality. Talented muscians nonetheless, but not the direction I was hoping for

Gorgeous, hypnotic. Lovely music; these guys never disappoint! Check out Tightrope and You + I.

Not as good as Home of the Strange. Mirror Master is a decent album overall, but I found it disappointing compared to some of their other music.

Ok.... I've been a YTG fan for a very long time. Mind over Matter and self-titled are absolutely stunning, with meaningful lyrics and a song you can headbang to in the car. Home of the Strange was a bit a different spin on their music, but it still had that Young the Giant shine. This album doesn't really hit the mark. Heat of the Summer, Glory, and Tightrope are probably the only songs that really emit that YTG feel. Almost the entire album is using the higher register of Sameer's voice, and while it's still impressive and powerful, it's nowhere near the bone-shaking power and rawness of his lower range. Also, the backing tracks, percussion, and riffs in the background are so overwhelming, especially while using the higher part of his vocal range. In the other three albums, the backing tracks were quieter, allowing for Sameer's voice to really break through. The songs all sound the exact same; all the melodies and percussion are identical. And the songs are all unoriginal. All in all, this is definitely not their best album. I hope their next songs come back to their roots.

Yikes.. Their last album had some absolute bangers, but Mirror Master is a complete snooze. Every song sounds like a generic mish-mash of basic melodies and chords we have heard thousands of times before from every “alternative” act in the last decade. Possibly one of the most disappointing albums of the year considering that their previous album suggested that Young the Giant had finally found their artistic footing with some incredibly catchy hooks, a distinctive sound, and a playful confidence that is sorely missing on this record. I pray that Young the Giant spend more time perfecting their sound, because they really were onto something with their last album, and now they are taking a huge step backwards.

It’s not bad. They have changed so much since they were The Jakes. First two albums are awesome and some of the songs from the third are good as well but this isn’t anything special. Hopefully they will get back to their roots.

B Side. Sounds like the B side of Home of the Strange. Still very good, but a little bit incomplete. The order of the tracks is off putting and doesn’t do the album well, nevertheless there are excellent tracks. Superposition leads the album strong, with supporting bangers like Heat of the Summer, Tightrope and Mirror Master. With some killer vibes from You and I, Panoramic Girl, and Brothers Keeper. The sweet bliss of Call Me back never stops each listen. Darkest shade of blue really leaves much to be desired with its instrumental movement through the listen, wishing for additional couple minutes of redemption. Simplify was really disappointing as the lead single, as it truly one of the weakest tracks, but it’s hard not to smile at such shattering guitars which do make a comeback in the more laid back oblivion.

Exellent album !. Young the giant doesn’t stop with great songs and innovative sounds

Beautiful Work of Art. I’ve been listening to these guys since 2010– grown up with them. Their work is so underrated. Album 4 is definitely worth the wait. Can’t wait to see them live again!!! This album has a since of nostalgia and reflection tithed in the lyrics. Love it!!!!

LOVE IT 😍😍😍😍😍. This album gives me a lot of 70's and 80's vibes. This is so good. Tightrope and Heat of the Summer are my top 2 songs.

Underrated Band!!. So talented, artistic, and creative. One of my favorite bands❤️

One of their best Albums 👍🏻. I am a huge fan of Young the Giant. They are one of my favorite bands of all time. I own all their music and I was thoroughly impressed when I heard this album. Not only do they find a way to change up their normal sound but they also add even more power behind vocals and atmospheric sound. This album is right up there with their first and second albums, of which by far were my original favorites. This album is one that has arguably no bad or forgettable songs on it. In todays day and age, that is extremely hard to do.

Such an UNDERrated band :(. This album has such a sweet mix of vibes to it. From (what I think) those times of blasting the music in a long car ride to just relaxing on a rainy drive. Either way, always great for car rides.

amazing album!. as beautiful as first and third album! maybe their best yet

❤️. ❤️

Preservation. I agree with those saying it isn't quite on a 'Home of the Strange' level, but I still love the sound on this album, it is still vintage YTG, especially with 'Superposition' & 'Glory'. I'm a big fan.

Overproduced and Underwritten. The drums are stagnant across the album, the writing lacks dynamics. Pales in comparison their work on the last 3 albums. First three singles highlighted the album

Pretty good. I’m reluctant to write a review now as I’m sure this album will grow on me more than it has now, as his is usually the case with anything I’m highly anticipating. For sure it is better than their last album, which I did not care for, but it’s certainly no mind over matter. I still listen to that album beginning to end to this day!

Just so good!. My playlist for weeks.

Consistently Amazing.. I’ve been listening to Young the Giant for a little over two years now, and I have yet to be disappointed. This album has so many good tracks. One of my favorite bands and I really hope they don’t stop making music anytime soon.

Couple good tracks. Going in I consider myself a casual fan of Young the Giant. I’ve never liked a full album of theirs, but definitely a decent amount of songs of all their albums. This one one is the same situation. I like about 5 songs. Which is totally fine with me.

Just a B-. Its just OK....Every album to date has been fantastic...this album has a couple of good tunes, but nothing special.

It's okay. Home of the Strange was better. More upbeat, more variation between tracks, more memorable instrumentation, etc.

Nope. I really pride myself in being someone who appreciates bands experimenting with their sound... but this is just simply not good. There are a couple decent songs, but as a whole this album SERIOUSLY lacks the same energy that Young the Giant was able to deliver earlier in their career. What happened to that unique SoCal sound? Miss that a lot :)

I think I don't like YTG anymore. I loved "Young the Giant" and "Mind over Matter". And, even though "Amerika"and a few other odd tracks from "Home of the Strange" were pretty good, I just couldn't shake the feeling they were about to sell out. And here we are. "Superposition" isn't bad, but so much of the album is just unimaginitive filler. I can't bring myself to pay money for any of it. The sad part is that they haven't forgotten how to make good music, they've just decided not to.

They’re Back!. I’ve been a huge fan since the beginning. I couldn’t get into the album before this. This one on the other hand I can’t stop listening to. Once again YTG has produced an album that is amazing from start to finish. Every song is great and as soon as the album is over, you can just listen to it all over again. This album is great.

Amazing.. There aren’t enough words to describe my love for this album. One of the most beautiful works of art.

Always love what these guys release!. I’ve been following YtG for a long time, and I love to see how their sound evolves on each album. There is some really great stuff going on with this album. Panoramic Girl is a must listen to track.

..!!. Always great

5/5 would recommend. Every song is catchy and meaningful. Like a lot of their other stuff very well done. So much emotion in Sameers voice and the instrumentals can be felt down to the soul. You can feel each note of the music down to the bones.

Embrace Evolution. While stylistically it’s a far cry from their debut, you can tell they take their art seriously and I love it. Great job gentlemen.
