its ok i guess. honestly was expecting so much more from this album. thers maybe 3 or 4 songs that are worth listening to. first halestorm album that has let me down......just release another cover album to redeem yourselves.

Please. Can everyone stop pretending that Halestorm is good!?!?!

I want to like them but they are so cliche. I like that they have a female singer with a gutsy voice (rock and roll needs more of them) and who can play guitar. I want to like this band. I listened to their first EP live album and every other album. I look at lyrics for everything. I find their song writing to be so what. It's all hook up songs, break up songs, acting tough. It's just juvenile and boring. I'm surprised this band had the capacity to write Dear Daughter. I was hoping I'd find something good in Amen but clearly it's a song written by someone who has no knowledge, doesn't believe, has misconceptions, etc .about God and it's instead an anti God song. Oh well.

Sold Out :(. There's only one song I actually like...and even at that that one song sounds like another. Sadly, I expected more and found naught. Unfortunately I do believe they sold out :( They were my favorite modern rock band until this album.

Not Halestorms best work. I was really expecting to be blown away, but this is just average. It’s not a step back, but it’s not a step forward either. Heart of Novicane is one of the better songs. Still a huge fan of Halestorm though. Lizzy Hale is one of the best lyricist and singers in the industry hands down. This just isn’t their best work.

Gets Better with each Album. I can't understand anyone who says they "were" fans and do not like this album! Halestorm keeps getting better and better with each album. They have everything on this album, incredible rock songs, Black Vulture, Skulls, Uncomfortable, the sensuous Conflicted, Do not Disturb; heartfelt rock ballad Heart of Heart of Novocain gives me chills. They even throw in a couple clichés “rock” fills which I am sure they did tongue in cheek. The album is solid beginning to end and her vocals are incredible.

Disappointing. Not what I expect from this band.

If 0 stars was possible. The writing on this album is just awful and uninspiring, would expect it on a pop album. The singles are so cheesy and the instrumentals are just bad taste, only about 2 tolerable songs on the whole record.

YES. YES THIS IS IT. THIS ALBUM IS SO GOOD. most importantly it helps with my anxiety.

Meh..... First off, I love Halestorm best live band I’ve ever seen perform (and I’ve seen over 100 bands live!). So when Lzzy said this album would be their heaviest to date I was stoked. Now I’m just disappointed, Uncomfortable is the only heavy song on the album. If they had just cut out a few of the lighter songs and added a couple more heavy ones this album would have killed it.

where is the power and attitude?. i fell in love with this band over Love Bites and grew with the rest of the album and their3rd, this one however is a let down mainly because a lot of the songs lack the power and attitude i fell inlove with

Her voice🙏🏻. This album is superb 💀

Much better than album three. Big improvement over their last album. Not as good as their first 2 but those are hard to top. Definitely a return to form. Best Songs: Black Vultures, Killing Ourselves to Live, Skulls, Heart of Novocaine, Uncomfortable, Vicious, Do Not Disturb, Buzz. 4/5 stars

My favorite Halestorm record thus far. The most honest and deep, raw, and unapologetic. Magic in stereo.

Halestorm Never Disappoints.. All of these reviews are saying that this album doesn’t sound like rock music...people, seriously?! This is what rock music is in 2018. Even if this sounds different than their other records, (and I don’t notice much of a change) this is what they are. Lzzy has always loved to switch things up. Great job, Halestorm; I LOVE “Uncomfortable!”

Half the fun. The first 6 tracks are great. Everything else is sell out poppy metal which I think hurts the band and takes away from their roots.

Great Album. I've been a fan of Halestorm since their first album (not counting their actual first album that shall not be named) and Vicious is right in the same vein as they have always been. Some of the the songs are harder rock than others, a lot of sex, and no ridiculous collaborative songs with other artists. I'm no music snob, so maybe I don't have the keen ear that a lot of these music critics here have clearly developed (yes this is sarcasm), but I fail to hear any poppiness/radio friendly vibes that apparantly run rampant through the album. They aren't Deathlok or Nightwish, they are Halestorm. If you dug their sound way back in 2009, you will dig Vicious too.

expecting more. I was expecting so much more with the hype of this album. Unfortunately the songs sound like they were written in a hurry and not as much thought/development was put into them. First album of Halestorm’s I haven’t purchased after listening.

I love Halestorm, but.... This isn’t Halestorm. This has become the Lzzy Hale project. I really have loved everything Halestorm has done up to this point, I’ve seen them twice live (and even flew out of state for one of the concerts). This record (literally) says “I” and “me” more than all other Halestorm albums combined, and is nothing more than. Lzzy Solo album with the boys backing her up. It’s a shame too, because Arejay, Josh, and Joe have SO much talent that I think was wasted on this album. “Black Vultures” is great, but the rest of the album goes downhill from there. As a die-hard Halestorm fan, I am sorely disappointed. I guess you could say things have gone from “Here’s To Us” to “Here’s To Me”. UPDATE: Sep 2018 - I have updated my review from 2/5 to 4/5. The sound of this record was very different compared to previous Halestorm entries and it took me a while to acclimate to it. This record is actually pretty powerful. It’s not the Halestorm I knew and loved at launch, but is an evolution and advancement in their musical prowess.

Great Band. Love all their CD,s but this one is the best

Wow. Rock is alive and kicking. Thank You Halestorm!!!

Dated butt rock.. Hard to believe this is still the prevailing style of modern hard rock. This stuff would have sounded tired in 2008, let alone in 2018. Hale has some talent for sure, but it's wasted in made for radio pop that is dressed up with hard rock riffs to make the simple folk think they're listening to metal.

Where’s Arejay?. I love this band and drumming to Halestorm’s past albums, so I’m biased. Please let Arejay write the next album. Drummers drive bands and songs from the relative difficulty of changeups. Songs stand out due to rhythmic changeups and Arejay is a master. This car is stuck spinning it’s wheels and needs Arejay’s drumming to push it out.

I’m “ Conflicted” How this song made the record!!!. Ok so “Conflicted” is def the worst song on the record, prob the worst Halestorm song ever! Vicious isn’t a bad record but it’s def not their best. Too many ballads on this album and it doesn’t live up to to the title’s name. I do love a good ballad on an album “The Silence” should of been the only one on the album. Otherwise they should of called the album “Tame”

Awesome. Way to go Halestorm. Awesome album. Thanks for giving us some great ROCK!!

LOVE IT!!!. So hard and real. I especially love Buzz and Heart of Novocaine. Been a fan for years, but this is probably my favorite album yet. Rock on.

Not their best. Some of the songs are good, “Conflicted” is the worst. Lzzy definitely could have put more thought into some of the writing, some of the lyrics are just corny. Their last album was definitely better with better lyrics. Sorry guys, I love you but this cd is just not that great.

They have done better. This album seems to be heavy for heavy sake. The songs are short on melody.

Ok. After the strange case it’s gonna be hard for me to compare halestorm That album was their appetite for destruction. This is good but seems to forced like they are chasing a hit

Music for the unspoken. Yet again they make music that speaks the truth and keeps it real even if it’s gruesome and raw. That’s the point they’re making and they did it with full talent. Great lyrics, great sounds, and great messages.

Good. Wide range of songs that keep you going.

Love bites. LOVE HALESTORM

Arguably their Best Album Yet!. It seems like Halestorm gets better as they go through their career. This was my favorite album of 2018 in all genres.

Chewey 62. I sure hope thre’s some good ol’e rock ballads on this new one😀✋️🍺.took a little while to warm up to the songs they have realeased, its not the in your face heavy sound like strange gave us. Matt Shafer. Rochester N. Y. Hmmmm not sure have to listen to this some more it’s different from their usual sound, but the song “Silence “ made me think of my wife and brought happy tears to my eye good acoustic work on this one i listen more tomorrow.Ok one more thought are you gonna make more than one vidio for the new realease?

Great song writing!. Lizzy just gets better and better! Great songs! Great performances! Sings like I want my metal singer to sing!

Zzzzzzzz. They’re all talented in this band, but it’s the same song over and over again - vocals and music are stock, and lack imagination/creativity- I want to like them, but it’s boring to the ear

Garbage. I never like this band. Since the song Do Not Disturb came out it’s only reinforced my thought that the singer is a cheap dirty easy woman. Disgusting song. Hope your daughters don’t see the singer as a role model anymore lol

Solid Effort. For those fans of Halestorm that are critical of this record, make sure to listen and open your mind. If a band doesn't change they are often criticized for all their songs sounding the same. When they do change, they are criticized for the music straying too far from their past sound. As I have gotten older I have learned to relax and not make a quick judgment, especially from a band that I consider myself a fan of. It sounds like a few people are Uncomfortable with the musical style or lyrics; however, I find this to be their second best album since Strange Case. For those that gave it three stars or less, take another listen and I think you will be glad that you did.

What I’ve been waiting for! 🙌🏽. They’ve really grown as a band together, and they’ve really outdone themselves on this album!

Crossroad. Halestorm is at that point in their career where they are beginning to repeat the same type of songs over and over and there is no growth. Uncomfortable is a good example - every CD has a song similar. The work that Hale did with Trans Siberian Orchestra showed how good her voice is - they should explore that avenue more and continue to grow as a band before they fade out.

Great. Every time Halestorm releases a new album its better than the last one. This album is really great

Disappointing. Not much else to say. It’s not a horrible album just not up to their potential. The Silence is a pretty good song - I liked hat one.

Not the Halestorm I love. Have been a huge fan of Halestorm forever and this album was a huge let down. The great lyrics and band sound are missing.

Ehhh.... Its Halestorm, so, its still great. BUT, just not as good as previous albums.

Another Great Album, Maybe the Best. This is just a rocking album. It's chock full of great songs with very catchy hooks. In particular, I really love Unconformtable, Black Vultures, Do Not Disturb and Killing Ourselves to live. We saw them performing cuts form the new record in Reno last summer, and it was a killer show. This band just keeps growing and turning out one terrific song after another. So, I wasn't surprised to see them get yet another Grammy nomination. Hope they win -- again. Lizzy just may go down as one of the most powerful female rockers of all time. Supported by a very tight band.

Lzzy rocks!. The finest, clearest voice in rock today. Screaming, crooning or just velvety soft she shows us what rock should sound like!

Loving it so far. I don’t understand why people give this album one star after only hearing Uncomfortable back in May. Trying listening to the whole album first. Lyrically, I don’t think it’s their best work but musically I am rocking out.

Powerful, melodic songs. I can’t stop listening to it

J33ma. Awesome album

Halestorm rocks again!. I think this may be their best yet! Killing Ourselves to Live is the by far their best composed song to date
