NOPE!!!. I feel like everybody on here who says this is amazing must be really young and missed APC when they were good. I was a little excited and then instantly disappointed.

Distracted. Not sure what this is. Experiments are fine, but please, please release the next Tool album, or at least a good perfect circle album

Doesn't strike a chord with me. The music feels a bit contrived and inorganic compaired to their original album. They sound very good but there is a lack of soul and passion.

A Masterpiece. Perfect Circle has always been on rotation.I will skip a few songs here and there. This album plays on repeat. I understand if some people do not appreciate what they did with this album. Genius is often misunderstood. This set of songs elevates Perfect Circle to greatness. There is not a single wasted note. It is perfect. The only other album I have on repeat is Pink Floyd’s Wish You We’re Here. This album makes a statement from the first note to the last. Thank you to the band for this amazing piece of work.

Stellar!. Great stuff!

Not worth your time.. It's just generic radio rock at this point. I mean I didn't like Deftones new CD at first, but after three/four tries I grew to love it. This CD did not have that experience. I was at times just disgusted with the tracks. It feels half-hearted at best. At worst it's pure audio garbage.

Amazing. APC is extremely and always have been so underrated. Maynard’s voice, Billy’s solos, the Melodie’s and absolute perfect harmonies just take you to another place mentally and melt your pain away. I always get goose bumps/chills when I listen to them. The fact that they are even better live, simply proves that their talent is through the roof. Every album put out by APC and TOOL are perfection and can be listened to beginning to end without skipping through. Most bands put out albums with 1 or two good songs and the rest are fluff (filler songs that where made with little to no writing/playing effort) and done just to complete a album. I don’t mind the many years it takes for APC/TOOL to put the next album out because everything is written with heart, and well thought out. The music is not rushed, which results in beautiful Melodie’s, deep lyrics, individual, unique songs.

Better than the reviews suggest. No: it’s not hard No: it’s not loud Yes: it is deep like previous APC but the lyrics match the music better, imho.

Great! But 1 song. The 5 song that you for the fish? Sound like an AFI song still like it but I find myself skipping it now ever time I listen to the album but it’s the only one I skip love all the other song

Not TOOL, OK 👌🏻. If you don’t like this album, check your pants for something brown and stinky. It’s not TOOL, it’s not supposed to be TOOL. It’s APC and it’s a nice little album. But also bring on the new TOOL record.

Trash on a Good Day. This used to be an awesome band. Hopefully Maynard doesn’t cement Tool’s fate in the same fashion. 10,000 days was a good cd so just leave it at that if this is what you have for us smh.

Delicious Heartopuss. It took several spins of this album for me to comprehend the heart in this album, but, it’s tentacles eventually found their way to my heart and mind. Fits perfectly into the circle of A Perfect Circle’s catalogue, minus Emotive, obviously. Calientìsimo.

An old school APC fan who loves this album.. I had the wonderful opportunity to see APC live when they opened for NIN during the Fragility tour circa 1999-2000. I didn't even know who they were, but I instantly became a fan. After listening through this new album, yea... it's like coming back home. It was a long time coming, but for me, it was worth the wait. For anyone who was expecting Tool, you clearly never knew what APC was about. This is the softer side of a heavy metal mentality, the time to slow down, absorb, process, decipher, and pick apart the intricacy of life in a much more subtle, subdued fashion. Maynard's voice is ethereal on this album, and brings back to those nights I spent playing Mer De Noms on repeat. Definitely an album I'm going to be listening to for years to come.

Solid album.. You can’t go wrong with APC. After 15 years since their last big album, Maynard’s vocals haven’t changed. Still top notch as usual! 👌🏻

Meh. The songs are not much to write home about. trying to sound different doesn't work for them They're like Muppets gone bad. Give me the old Tool who were a bit offbeat but their songs were powerful and interesting. Kind of reminds me of Ozzy Osborne trying to find their way.

Bye and down the river 🔥. We need more Billy

Wonderful, full of heart, creative, Fanfreakintastic!. At first I wasn’t sure about this album. But after giving it a few times through, I absolutely love it!

Disappointed. If I could give zero stars I would. Love this band but this is terrible

Even with open mind, I’m disappointed. I’m all for bands refusing to be pigeonholed by their past work, thereby breaking into new grounds and sounds over time. Well, it’s been a while for APC, so a group of talented musicians ought to have the license to do just that: grow. Problems arise however when what could and should be touted as “growth” turns out to be—put simply—not that good. This album largely has a softer tone and pace than the APC of the past, which again, I don’t object to on principle, but the result is a slow-motion Hindenburg, where the listener can absorb each cringeworthy detail in real time: cliched lyrics with all the depth of a baby pool, overuse of dainty bell-like percussion, misplaced vocal distortion, etc. And for someone like Maynard, who routinely (and rightly) hates on Metallica, why do so many of the places where the music heats up into harder territory end up sounding like Metallica? “The Doomed” track perhaps being the best example of this abhorrent tendency. Billy’s grinding guitar play, normally a major draw for APC, is restrained throughout. At times, you feel like maybe he’s about to unleash that signature talent, but an uninspired chorus returns or the song ends. I was willing (and eager) to hear out anything new from APC, even if it was going to be “different” from their sound of the past, but I never envisioned being so disappointed afterwards. What happened? Was it laziness? Complacency? Or simple overthinking? Not sure, but I hope Maynard, Billy, and company are grounded enough after all these years to admit that maybe they didn’t accomplish that which they could or should have with Eat The Elephant.

Choke it down until you love it. I find that all APC and tool works need to be well digested before they can be enjoyed. This album especially felt like it needed to be choked down and then digested over and over before really hearing, understanding, and connecting. I’ve come to the conclusion that I love the album but it also makes me want to off myself, but like in a really beautiful way. You have to be in the perfect head space to want to turn on this album. I enjoy it when in the right mood and when away from a bathtub and toaster.

Meh. I was a bit disappointed. By no means do I expect a band to have a “static” sound and no evolution over a number of years. HOWEVER, most of the album just felt like rips of many other bands alternative sounds. These are the type of songs you expect to see sprinkled 2-3 across an entire album, not a whole album of them.

YIKES.. I didn't like Depeche Mode in the '80s. I hate them even more now.

Maynard can do no wrong a true musical genius. Maynard continues to impress I see no end to his genius I listened to this entire cd a few times in a row and every time I listened I liked it more and more so to my man Maynard J by putting out music like this it gives 90’s rock fans and early 2000’s hope that real music can still be made unlike the TRASH THAT HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY PUT OUT BY SO MANY FAKE SAD ROCK BANDS this CD is not as good as APC’s first offering or the mighty 13th step but a very very good cd that hopefully other bands listen to and realize that after 29 years this kind of music is still being made by a true musical genius................

Awesome first exposure. Album’s great

Love this group!. Could have been better.

Enjoyable. I wasn’t to thrilled the first couple listen throughs, but now I am hooked. I really enjoy the album like I do the past releases. Keep me coming Maynard.

Hated at first, but now love. Weird, I know. The songs grew on me. There’s a ton of quality work here. One thing that threw me off was the light intro song, which just felt so out of place.

a challenge to the listener. Like many other people, when i first saw this album I had assumed that it was an anti-Christian campaign by just reading the song names and thinking of their past song Judas (which I do like). Looking back I now feel embarrassed to have thought that while thinking of myself as a fan of APC or Tool. Like all albums that Maynard puts out they generally have a message to tell when you put all of the songs together. This album I believe is about breaking free of the vices and self destructive thought processes of the world we live in today. And as for the song Talk Talk its actually asking the facebook warrior Christians to follow the religion they claim to believe in but have no real understanding of. As a whole I believe this is an album meant to inspire its listeners to be better people and could even, dare I say, be played in a church. As for the actual music it's something new. though I like my music heavy I still appreciate slower songs such as weak and powerless or 3 libras, but this is… piano. lots of piano, and raw Maynard. there is slight diversification at the end in hourglass and get the lead out but for the most part the album is a very even and consistent tempo. in other words it would kill whatever mood you were in unless it was somber reflective melancholy, but if that’s you then this is the album of the year. It's an interesting new direction and the talent is obviously there. Obviously not what any of us was expecting but it's still a quality album.

Wow amazing. New sound but still interesting and heavy

Whomp Whomp. What happened to songs sounding like they’re off of the 3 initial albums. This sounds like A Perfect Circle, not TOOL. This sounds really, really bad. This is likely their last album, so enjoy the first 3 because that’s where the gold was. Soo, soo bad!

A Vital Album. This is certainly an album for our times, and like everything we seem to see or hear these days it’s polarizing. To some, Maynard’s ruminations on society are too political or threatening to their own beliefs and they will be dismissed as “whining” or “self righteous”. To others, myself included, his observations are spot on. To point out religious hypocrisy isn’t anti-Christian as some claim, but is perhaps the most Christian thing one can do. To point out the negative impact of technology isn’t complaining, it’s a call to remember our common humanity. Musically the album is beautiful, alternately moody and elated, and perfectly complementary to the album’s theme. The tempos are generally slower than previous APC offerings, but that doesn’t compromise the intensity at all. I was skeptical about a new APC album, but I find Eat the Elephant as vital and relevant as anything they’ve produced in the past, if not more so.

Great album. This album is great. Are 100% of them great? No. But 85-90% are. Who cares if the songs are a little different than they were 15 years ago. You probably are too.

APC the Elephant. Couple listens through and I’ll give it a passing grade. The production sounds odd to me like it's mixed really loud. Nothing to be overly hyped about for me anyway.

Crazyweb. Really good and a different time sound to the previous records It’s well done and I respect that

Awwww he don’t like guns. This is A Perfect Circle’s biggest failure.Keep your politics out of music or like other entertainers ,can you not be original ? If you’re a long-time Tool fan like me waiting on another Tool album, this album should prepare you for a huge let down.

..... A bunch of rich guys crying about the President.

ok. cover is the worst thing ive ever seen. Not very impressed for such a long wait, although there are some good tracks. Wish the album was a little heavier, but im ok with the mellodic tone too... Maybe it will grow on me. Update: the album did not grow on me. It's pretty terrible

Grandpa for 2. This is a masterpiece ! I have been listening to Rock music for over 50 years. The vocals and the music tie togather masterfully. Not a bad cut on album.

Different and still good. New lyrical meanings and new songs. Don’t stay attached to the past.

👍👍. Love new album ... two thumbs up ...

An amazing album.. I see a lot of people complaining. Some saying he complains a lot about Jesus. Maynard complains about hypocrisy. His issue with religion comes from those hypocrites. You know, the ones that take it personally when he writes these songs. This album is great from front to back. The melodies are amazing, and the lyrical content is fitting for both the music, and society as a whole. His voice is as good as it has always been, and Billy's music shows through more on this album than most songs on previous albums. This album shows a growth in maturity, both as people, and musically.

APC 2018- TOOL 2018. I love that they are not afraid to try something new but yet still stay weird and relevant! You guys rock! Saw you in Brooklyn last year.... was a ridiculous show... gonna be at MSG in Nov with my 2 kids 9 and 10 in Nov. I think they love APC more than me.... hahaha... JK of course.. Keep it up boys

Underwhelming. Definitely it a fan of this one. Maynard spends a little too much time complaining about religious stuff for me now. I understand he doesn’t believe in it but seriously does every song have to be trashing the same stuff.

Each song is very nostalgic APC 2018. One of the best album I ever buyed it ❤️ APC is amazing in so many levels

Lack luster. Mer de Noms has been such a huge musical influence that I could never completely turn away from APC. That being said, this album pushed me as far away as I can get. A phenomenal disappointment. Why do so many artists that say that they don't believe in any god spend so much time and effort whining about god? Musically this album has wonderful sounds but the songs are uninteresting and there are no melodic or rhythmic boundaries pushed in ways that APC has done in he past. I hoped for so much more than what this is - bland. Unsatisfying. Dull. Uninspired and uninspiring.

Great. Nice album. I like the songs and their meanings

Masterpiece!!!. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this album, but I was pleasantly surprised! I’m loving the incorporation of different instruments, and Keenan always delivers with meaningful lyrics that fit the music!

Such a great return. At first, I wasn’t really sure what to think. But the more I listened I realized this is such a great return for the group. To me, I hear elements of Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step in here. The lyrics are great, the music as always is incredibly catchy. Bands have to evolve and the sound of this album is exactly where I’d expect it to be. Highly recommend, not one track I don’t enjoy!

It’s good. Not as good as thirteenth step but the modern sound of the album sounds amazing classic a perfect circle

This album will grow on you. I purchased this album last week, at first listen I'll admit I felt disappointed, it's been awhile since their last album and their sound is different than other music listen to. I gave this album a chance and I do like several songs. The Contrarian and The Doomed are dark and twisted songs, Maynards vocals are masterful on this album, as with most of his work. So Long and thanks for all the fish is more upbeat and different, Talk,Talk is more classic sounding Perfect Circle and yes there is By and down the river on this album. You have to be a fan of A Perfect Circle to truly appreciate this album. It has to grow on you. It's not hard rocking, comin' at ya! its slow, dark and brooding and piano driven,,,ENJOY!!!!
