Anchors Album Reviews

  • Stellar outing!

Loving this album! I first enjoyed Will's music when he was rocking a bit harder and I saw him live opening for Midnight Oil. After his early albums (Bird..., Carousel) I didn't follow him but got re-introduced through his American Protest Music album (also great!). The songs here definitely hold my interest musically and lyrically. The title track is outstanding and there's not a weak track in the bunch! If you're new to his music this is a fine start and if you like his prior stuff this stands with the best of it.

Seriously... one of the best writers and singers in current country music.. and yet he is still working his way to the charts.. someone make him crazy famous already.

Dig the heck out of some Will Hoge... talented man, great voice, great songs, & heartfelt. As good live as on tape... real deal, thanks sir for doing the Thing, right. More of Nashville should be singing ya songs. Don't blame ya for keeping them too ya self.

Hoge has always been a great painter of pictures through song and Anchors is prime example of this talent. It's real life, hits close to home, and is fairly bullsh*t free. When the story and the musicianship is quality, the genre is irrelevant.
  • Another great one by Will!

Just when he can't do better than the last one, he does!
  • Will does it again
