Artist name titles. I don't want to buy some music and have an artist name I can't read. I think there's something wrong with iTunes/Miles Davis tonight. I was getting ready to order, but am going to wait until they fix this.

the most incredible and psychedelic album of all time. this is my all time favorite album. there's nothing better than the grooves on this album. theres nothing better than the off-kilter solos on this album. theres nothing better than this album period.

DRUNK ON HIS BREW. I just pulled this out of the collection today to listen to it after too long of a break. Awesome. I love all of Miles' stuff from Birth of the Cool to most of his '80s stuff, but this is a nice bridge between the Miles In The Sky and Dark Magus sound. It's not as crazy and it has some good grooves. Just turn out the lights and go for a ride!

What Can I Say. My brother brought this for Christmas as a gift for me. For years , I’ve heard the debate over which of Miles Davis albums was his best. This or Kind of Blue. I can’t decide because I love both. It’s just one of those records you can listen to. My personal favorite song “ Little Blue Frog”

An absolute must-have. An absolute must-have classic. Considered by many to be the beginning of the jazz fusion genre. Miles Davis' sidemen on this album went on to create some of the most innovative groups of the 1970s. I agree with some reviewers that the iTunes price was extortionate, but when you get the urge to hear a piece of music at midnight, and you want to hear it now, I'm willing too pay the price. At any rate, this album is worth every penny.

Not. This is not the complete session, search for the complete session and buy that.

Miles meets Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone at the end of the 1960's. Woodstock took place in August 1969 in a farm in upstate New York and, at the same time, Miles Davis and a bunch of young turks (Corea, McLaughlin, Maupin, DeJohnette, Holland, etc) walked into the studio and blasted away 70 years of "jass" music and created a new fusion of sound. Miles was the only one who could have done this...he cared NOT about critical reaction (as usual). Get this record now.

Not a doggie reference........ The title of this album refers to the quality of the musicians. It is a term Jazz musicians use to describe a musician "who can play his (.....well there is likely another ASStrick laden word you can't write in iTunes) off. Get a group of musicians of that caliber together and you have a B*****s Brew. This release was a turning point for Jazz. If you listen to Miles, he is playing the same riffs......just over an incredibly new feel for Jazz at the time. It is kind of where modal Jazz was heading...moving away from a swing based four on the floor to a rock feel......hence Fusion. As with "Birth of the Cool", "Kind of Blue", and given the overall monster musicians Miles worked with, this album and Miles forged a new direction for Jazz.

One of the Most Incendiary, Hypnotic Jazz Albums to Date. If I were to form a definitive top ten list of jazz albums that broke ground, B*****s Brew would definitely hold a place within its ranks. Not only does Miles Davis set up the foundation for fusion jazz in B*****s, but he also successfully creates a sonic blend that appears discordant yet retains a formula for its apparent madness. Some may find it difficult to comprehend B*****s' complexity, but aficionados of experimental jazz music will most likely devour the tracks on the album. The experience of listening to B*****s is akin to weaving through a dark, unpredictable forest or jungle: it is outrageous in a subtle, nearly insidious way, with an element of the mystical.

What thievery corporation would like to be.. simply amazing. keep in mind this happened in 1969

Miles Ahead>>>>>. Brilliant!

A Masterpiece in any genre. This is the alpha and omega of jazz fusion. It remains unparalleled. There were other great jazz fusion albums, but this stands apart not only for it's creativity but because it does not favor rock over jazz. This is not great musicians putting out good material for the sake of sales, this is great musicians creating a masterpiece while searching for new ways to express themselves musically. That is why this album stands alone. The other attempts, good as they are, will always be affected by this.

James Brown meets Leatherface. One of the scariest, loudest, and funkiest albums of all time, which continues to inspire to this day. It's not just a big band, but the Big Bang of jazz, from which The Mahavishu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Weather Report, and Tony Williams Lifetime would be born. It was the catalyst to the careers of Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette...well, you'd have an easier time counting the stars in the sky. There's a moment where John McLaughlin is reving up something, and you wonder, "Is that a guitar, a chainsaw or a chainsaw taken to a guitar?" All the while, he's playing in (not in front of or behind) a sweaty, strange and funky...brew. It's like the animal sacrifice scene at the end of Apocalypse Now, but better and scarier. It's that good. As for the price, well, God bless iTunes, but there's a seller named after a large river in South America, which is selling this for about half the price. You can put the savings aside for your own chainsaw.

Great Album but.... ...it's almost 20 bucks for 7 songs. You can get the same seven songs in the box set edition for only $6.93 if you buy them individually. Why would iTunes do this?? Disappointing to see a company trick their customers like this. Make the regualar album $9.99, max!!

Wow! Revolutionary!. This is an amazing album that I found from my textbook about the History of Rock in the section about jazz-rock and fusion. I think this has amazing effects! A must buy for all experimental music lovers!

Only by a musical genius. This album is inspirational to many musicians in many different ways. Some say each song builds itself up so greatly that it eventually leads to nothing, and that's the beauty of the work. Radiohead based a good portion of inspiration for their groundbreaking album "OK Computer" off of this Miles Davis piece. It's probably best to give this album a few listens before understanding it's reality, but once you get it, you will love it.

Miles Davis. Played Jazz like no one else could. he had a style so out there and beyond anything his contemporaries that I often think of him as the Captain Beefheart of Jazz but even that doesn't do justice to the originality and Avant Garde playing style of this Album

PC claims another victim. A classic album by a musical giant and iTunes has to bow to political correctness and edit the TITLE!! Why? It that horrible word going to push young minds into the abyss? Really? Shameful...

AMAZING!!!!!. I am the only kid year old I know that even knows this music exists!! How could you not be amazed by Miles Davis.

WOW!!!. This is real music people that is why you'll never hear it on the radio. Do yourself a service and buy this album while your ears still work. And for those of you keeping track at home, Lady Gaga has sold 23 million albums and 64 million singles. Please do your part and listen to real musicians playing instruments... Ya know like they did back in the stone age.

Greatest fusion album ever!. This album sounds so cool yet very frightening. If you want to start listening to fusion, this is the perfect place to start.

Loves songs but don. I realy love the songs of this album but...COME ON!!! This is messed up! why do i have to buy the whole album if i only want like 2 or 3 of the songs!!!! and whats the deal with this stupid "16.99" price! i only had enough money for a $15 gift card! Come on! this is unfair! u should let us by songs sepereatly along with the option of buying the whole album! this is just unfair! all the songs except for 1 you can only have if you buy the whole album!!!! and that one you can buy for .99 is the shortest song!!!! PLEASE STOP THIS and fix it so we can buy ALL!!!! the songs seperatly!

The innovative genius at his BEST!!!!!!!. Miles Davis is hands down a being from another planet or he was capable of channeling sounds that previously were not heard and arranged as they did before Miles. Look I don't care how much it cost you need to get this album...Why...well because whatever mood your in this album can adapt itself to your feelings and take you along the ride of the songs' courses and journeys so take flight!

a quick responce to ledded who's responce. i somewhat agree with you about the whole 20 bucks think, but you have to take in consideration of the fact that the first song is 20min and the 2nd is 26, and the fact that these songs are amazing. IF you take the current popular music (not that im too much up on that) all the songs are around 3 minuts long, and an album is probably around 10 bucks. so, i would say it almost evens out, this album may be a little bit overpriced, but who knows.

Fantastic album, but buy elsewhere. This album is fantastic if you're like me and aren't in love w/traditional jazz but love jazz/funk fusion. Given how long and awesome the songs are, I would definitely pay more than $20 to listen to it...if I had to. But you can get it from amazon for a dollar a song. I'll leave it to you to count the number of songs for yourself to see how much money you could save.

One of the best jazz albums. Awsome album

Awsome album, but for this price buy the actual CD.. This is undoubtedly one of the most important jazz albums ever and was the beginning of a revolution in music, not just jazz. On the other hand, the price is just way too high. You can buy the actual album for the same price or less. I'm not sure what iTunes is thinking here. It's great to be able to find and download the albums you want when yo want them, but there is no packaging to consider. most albums seem to be resonably priced on here, but this one is way too expensive. I do encourage any miles Davis fan to buy this album, but just save some money and buy the real thing.

Best. The best trumpet player ever no questions asked

A Love Supreme's evil twin. Anyone who has a chrononlogical knowledge of jazz will realize upon first listen that this album is so far and beyond every other previous jazz recording in forward progress that it is un-friggin-believable. Its strange, spiritual movements are unorthodox but never awkward and each track builds towards a different yet equal spiritual explosion that serves as a testament to the eternal creativity of the human spirit. The album was so startingly creative that it started, peaked and nearly ended the jazz fusion movement. Every succesful and worthwile fusion group after this was formed from the musicians on this album and their creative output, including miles Davis's, never paralleled this. But even more than that, this album contains a heart that is unmistakably similar to John Coltrane's A Love Supreme. Both were performed by artists that instruments act as an extension of themselves, both departed radically from the traditional jazz format, and both were the summit of the artist's creative output, never to be repeated.

High profile. This album was ok. After the album was over nothing inside of me shouted "The most revolutionary jazz album of all time!", it pretty much struck me as a high profile wank session. Miles has better playing on several albums, as well as McLaughlin.

Rhymes with "inexplicable puritanical prudishness". Why did Miles Davis put asterisks in the title? Because if you dare so much as read the word for 'little female doggies', or 'suspicious female conjurers', you will be struck dead by lightning -- immediately. If, however, you close your eyes and listen to the music, you will be struck dumb at how we have become. It's decades later. Isn't it nice to be innocent? Just buy it, non-cursing, non-ethnic, high-income, cultural person. Don't worry -- there are no vocals to offend your delicate political sensitvities; only rhythm, harmony, and melody. That can't hurt, can it?

Miles Ahead. One of the best fusion albums is back on iTunes in it's entirety. Right on. This is great stuff; unlike alot of boring 70's fusion it grooves as much as it floats and the results are intoxicating. Just buy it man, Miles IS jazz; Miles is improvisation and music in their purest forms. I can't recomend this enough.

Awesome music, price is too high.. For the price you really should just buy the CD; $20 is too much to download 7 tracks, even if they are long tracks. This music is awesome and extremely dense. This is not for people who like short, melodic pop songs with obvious song structures. This is long (the first two tracks on CD1, the rest on CD2), ambitious, dense, and intense. The music is improvisational in nature. The band recorded large chunks which were later edited together to form a song. As you can see, these songs don't follow traditional structure. The band features brasses, electric guitar, keyboards, several bassists and drummers - very dense and active arrangements. This is the quintissential heavy fusion album which combines jazz, funk, and rock. Whether you listen to classical, heavy metal, or blues you should find something here that you like. If you are a pop fan, this album will definitely pull you out of your comfort zone and expand your boundaries.

DONT GET THIS..THERE IS A BETTER DEAL ON ITUNES!. they have the complete bi****s brew session with like an hour and a half more music for like 35. dont make the mistake i did! now it looks like im gonna be buying again:(

WOW. This is one of the best albums that I have ever heard. I can't believe that, at age 33, I have never heard of this album before. I discovered it because the track 'Spanish Key' was in the movie Collateral, and I couldn't get it off of my mind. Oh well, better late than never. This is a stunning piece of work.

It's an hour and 45 min. long. no wonder about the price.

first jazz album to start fusion. the fact that lenny white is playing drums on this album says it all. This is the first ever jazz fusion album...pretty epic. Miles Davis is really the inventor of jazz fusion, which is one of my personal favorite forms of music. I highly recommend it!

Genuis.... This 1969 masterpeice was Miles' most innovative piece by far. The 2-disc 7-track album boasted some of the first 20-minute songs that I couid dig for the whole twetny minutes. There may never again be such a brilliant jazz-rock fusion ensemble as great as Miles, Jack Dejohnette, Gary Burtz, John McLaughlin, Michael Henderson, and Keith Jarett. The two highlights of this album are Miles Runs The Voodoo Down and Jack Dejohnette's phenomenal drumwork. Bravo Mr. Davis...

too expensive. one song out of seven offered as rental. was going to gift it to my girlfriend but ill get it elsewhere. i am quickly getting bored of the limited mainstream selections offered here. cant wait till they start pandering to the people who actually pay for this stuff instead of whatever copyright deal was bargaied for

Frightening~. This is an amazing, yet, frightening album. It's brilliant!!!

B****'s Brew ?!?!?!?!?!. What is with the asterisks???? Is Sarah Palin president already?!?!?!??
